Good evening everyone may God bless your night.
Thank, we are going to be with our Lord soon no more being down and depressed. Just happy we will be to be with our Jesus and love ones. Keep our eyes on Jesus it will be soon.
Karen just praise God and he will deliver us from  loneliness. When I am lonely and feeling down that's where the Lord is to, he brings me back up from my lowly stage. Like when I am down in the Vally so low and wondering how I am ever going to get back out of it. I look around every where and see no hope and all sudden I see the light coming,  its my Savior and he is coming for me with out stretched arms and leads me back to the mountain top. I am full of the spirit again praise God his Holy name amen.

It must be a busy Monday... because I'm feeling a little lonely. The day did warm up nicely, to 43 degrees and we had some sunshine. I'm hoping to finish the top part of my quilt this week... at least that's my goal. See you all later!

Good Morning Everyone! It's 30 degrees and there's a layer of white frost on the ground. I talked Heather into waiting until it's a little warmer today to go out and take care of business. I slept very well and woke up with a perfect blood sugar. So, cutting back on the insulin helped.

Michael, I agree with you totally. It says somewhere in Proverbs about, look to the ant. Meaning how it works. Ants are not lazy that's for sure. Kid's now are expecting something for nothing. And yes, parents do want it to be easy for their kids, and it's harder to maintain discipline than to ignore the problems.

I hope everyone has a good day and may God bless you all.

Good morning everyone God bless your day.

Karen, I know its hard to teach them when there parents never did teach them to do chores. Some times I have to get rough before thy get the point. If thy are not taught to work thy never will being lazy. God dont like us being lazy ether if we are able to work. Parents have been to soft on there kids in this generation . I think because the parent had it rough at home and had to work thy wont it easier on there children. I under stand that, that wont help in the future for them tho.

I'm finally getting off to bed soon. I need a good night sleep tonight, so will turn in early. Also, Jeanette, I'm taking the kitchen with me and putting it on the nightstand so there will be something to eat. So, don't worry, I won't have to trudge to the kitchen if my blood sugar is low again tomorrow.

I pray you all have a good night and rest peacefully, or, if you are just getting up, have a good day!

 Sunday, 7:45 PM

It's been a long day just waiting for this weekend to be over.  Today has seemed like a Monday to me, I wonder what tomorrow will be?  I'll be so glad for the kids to get back in school.  This is a quiet neighborhood except on holidays when grandkids storm in to see all the grandma's and grandpa's that live on our street.  They must be pretty rowdy in the house because they all get chased outside and all you hear are screams and hollers.  My next door neighbor has 5 grandkids all belonging to her only daughter.  That is too many for me.  They talk to each other like they are all hard of hearing.  I don't think they know what a normal tone is.  God knew best when He made only the young able to bear children.  My nerves couldn't take it at this age.

Karen. . . .I pray your blood sugar remains stable tonight and you are able to get a good nights rest.

Vicky. . . .I'll pray for the Lord to give you strength to fulfil you duties at work.  Just let Him help you carry the load.  Hopefully your schedule will be changed.

We had upper 70's today, wouldn't have taken much to hit 80.  By next Thursday they predict we will be back into the 30's again for a night or two.  We have a good chance of getting some rain tomorrow too.  Our humidity is up in the 90's right now and the back concrete porch is sweating, causing it to be really slick and nasty.  Sometimes there are beads like little puddles all over the place and you would think it rained under the roof.  At least we have to AC to keep the air dry inside to help us all breathe better.

I hear my pillow calling out to me so I will say nighters to everyone and hope to see you all back happy and healthy in the morning.

         gn

May the Lord keep us all in His loving care and safe from harm through the night.

Gee Karen  that is very dangerous if your levels drop while you're sleeping; thank God your daughter is around to check up on you.  I am so thankful what few meds I take I can buy at Winn Dixie for $4.00/each.    What exactly did you go on disability for?   I hired an attorney to appeal S.S.D.'s decision in my case so I hope and pray I can get on it; that way I can get a monthly check and still work a few hours per month.    And I'm also praying that my job will cut my hours to accomodate my needs.   They cut employee hours when they need to so I don't see why they won't do it when I need to.

May everyone have a blessed evening.

Hi Vicky! I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with work. I do understand some of the problems. After I started with some of my problems and was still working I had to work every other day. But then I became much worse and was unable to work.

To answer you questions; I don't know until it's very low when it's going to happen. One of my main problems is it tends to drop while I'm asleep. My daughter always checks me if I sleep to long because it can be very dangerous. This morning I dropped low in my sleep. I keep food beside the bed just for this reason. I also have glucose tablets, but they are a little spendy and I only use them when I can't get actual food, or when I'm out somewhere. Part of the problem is I take insulin and my need for it seems to be changing so my reaction to it is like I don't need as much. The doctor says take a certain amount, but my body says that's too much. The only remedy is to eat. Right now I feel like a stuffed turkey. We keep cutting the insulin back. Who knows... maybe I won't need it eventually?

Well I am back from work today and to answer your question Jeanette, it is taking its toll on me.   I had no idea it would, I figured I'd swing back into things after a week or two but... about 3 1/2 hours of work my eyes get real blurry and I get a headache and I've noticed that my back and legs have started to ache...something they never did before.    And to top it off the scheduler has scheduled me 6 hour shifts for next week and I know I cannot do it.   I pray she redoes my schedule but who knows.   Don't know what I'll do if she doesn't.

Karen, I pray your sugar level is up and that you're feeling stronger.   Can't you tell before your sugar drops to a dangerously low level?   What do you have to do?  Eat food or sweets?  I am not familiar with the symptoms or cure.   I love your graphic!

Michael, I pray all is well with you and your family.

Florika, I love your graphic....very lovely.

Michael, do hang in there and try to teach your kids that they need to help out. Re-teaching habits is so much harder, but they will thank you for it later. It matters when they need to hold down a job and how they work at it.

Jeanette, thanks for the encouragement. I will be slow today. I woke up with a 52 blood sugar (80-120 is normal). I could hardly walk or talk, but we got it turned around in time. Now I can sit down and make a list, first off.

Vicky, Carla, Florika and everyone who comes in... hello. I'm still shakey and can't write much more, so sorry, but God bless each of you and have a great day today.

Karen. . . .Time does seem to go by faster than it used to, maybe it's just because we have slowed down and don't get as far as we used to in a days time.  Just make a schedule and pace yourself to do a little each day and you will get it all done on time for your guest.  The football game was exciting, the Razorbacks came back in the 2nd half and almost won but LSU tied it up and it went into overtime.  The final outcome was LSU by a field goal over the Hogs.  At least it wasn't an embarrassing loss, but we did get knocked out of going to the Cotton Bowl.  Now I don't know what bowl bid they will get.  Oh well, that's how it is in sports.  The Saints normally play on Sunday but they are playing tomorrow instead.  That is going to be a good game.  We will be pulling for the Saints.

I'm so glad it warmed up a little bit for both you and Michael.  And yes, the days are a whole lot shorter than they used to be.  Well, that's not exactly true.  The daylight doesn't last as long as it does in summer.  Just think, though, on the 20th of December it will be the shortest day of the year, daylight wise.  Then it will start adding 2 minutes a day to the daylight and every month we will have an additional 30 minutes more of daylight until savings time goes back into effect.  I think they should have savings time in the winter instead of the summer.  That is when we truly need more daylight.  I'm just thankful that I don't have to live in Alaska with nights that last 6 months.  How depressing that must be.

Michael. . . .I was one of those mothers that did not make my children do as much as they should have.  It was just quicker for me to do it and not get nervous waiting for them to drag out their chores all day long.  We try to live too fast these days and the children are the ones that suffer for it in the long run.  Mine had certain responsibilities that I refused to do for them but for the most part I did the bulk of it.  It really shows up in my son more so than my daughter.  You really need the help with the additional that you are putting out for them.  Just put your foot down and let them know that they are part of the family and that is how families do things.  They will respect you more for it.  Maybe not at first, but in the long run they will.

Vicky. . . .nice to see you again, you have been MIA for a couple of days.  How is the job going?  Are you getting back into the swing of things?

Florika. . . .If your country looks like that greeting graphic, then it is truly beautiful there.  I have never had the privilege of traveling outside of this country and I have seen precious little of our own land.  I would love to see the Holy Land but I will have to wait until the Lord takes me there when He returns to earth again.  I sure can't afford it nor will my current health allow me to try it. I feel like I will enjoy it more with Him by my side anyway.  That will be a beautiful place in the kingdom.

Hope all of you have a most blessed day.

Good early morning everyone God bless your day.

Karen we just had a few snow shares night be for last, it was around 50s yesterday suppose to be 60 today I am going to enjoy it while I can. We got in some more fire wood yesterday that about gets me now days. One of the foster boys helped me some. The kids now days are so lazy, its like there parents just let them go and never taught them nothing and that makes it vary hard to reteach them doing chores and learning to be responsible. Thy are good at playing video games and watching tv thats about it. If parents dont teach the kids to learn to work, no wonder we live in a world with so many lazy sorry people.

Jeanette glad you are feeling better and Carla. I hate feeling bad, thats my dayle reteen seams like most days.

Here it is 7pm and it is so dark outside... it seems like it was only yesterday that the summer sun was up until 9pm. We had a pleasant afternoon in the high 40's and I was able to talk to my granddaughter online. It's so nice to know that when they get here next month she will recognize me. The time is getting short and I'm not prepared for their arrival. Soon I'll be scrambling to get things finished.

Jeanette I hope your game had a good ending. I don't watch football, but my husband used to and I know how absorbing it was for him. And fun! I hope it is for you also.

I hope everyone has a good evening and may the Lord bless each of you.

Guess I will be the first to say "nighters" to everyone.  We are watching LSU whip up on the Razorbacks, and, naturally we are pulling for the hogs.  Arkansas looks like they have a good chance to come back but I'm not going to count my chickens before they hatch.  If the Hogs win, they will go to the Cotton Bowl.  If they loose, they will still go to a bowl game but it will be a lesser bowl.  As soon as this game is over, I'm shutting my eyes for the night.  Hope to see all of you again in the morning.

May the Lord keep us all close to Him and protect us through the night.  Stay warm and sweet dreams everyone.

                  hello

Mary. . . .So sorry you are having trouble posting, it is a common thing with Care2, especially around holidays and weekends.  Please don't give up, keep trying. . .we would love to have you join in with us and share in the "family" communications and studies.

Michael. . . .You are so sweet to offer the invitation to us for next year.  If it were at all possible, I would take you up on it but I would also bring a contribution to the dinner.  It's a real shame that we don't all live near one another so that we can meet in a central location and get together with everyone at least once or twice a year.  I would really love that.  I'm sorry to hear that Old Man Winter and his nephew, Jack Frost, has found their way to your mountain.  I had hoped winter would come later for you and end earlier.  You almost made it into December without them though.

Karen. . . .I'm sorry you also have received an early visit from Old Man Winter and family.  As beautiful as the snow (sneaux) is, it is also a hardship on so many who suffer painfully from the cold.  Let's all start now and pray for an early spring.  It could start the middle of January and I sure wouldn't complain.

Florika. . . .Great to see you again, hope you have a safe and pleasant trip to Norway.  Maybe you can take some pictures while you are there and post them for us to see. I will keep you in prayer for travel mercies and a safe return home.

Carrie. . . .Welcome to Salvation By Grace, we are delighted to meet new brothers and sisters in the Lord.  Please make yourself at home and let us know if you need any help or have any questions.  Our current Bible study is on the Book of John.  We have just started chapter 8.  There is a thread with the links to all of the lessons from the beginning and if you enjoy reading, it shouldn't take you long to catch up to where we are.  Normally there is a new lesson each week.  We try to give everyone a chance to read them before posting a new one.  I share in your wisdom that home is the best place to spend Black Friday.  There is not enough money in this world to pay me to get out in that crowd just to save a few cents here and there.  It's just not worth the effort for me.

Carla. . . .I'm thrilled to see that you feel like getting back into the routine of your daily activities today.  I hope you don't over-do hand cause yourself a setback.

We had a low last night in the upper 50's and it's reaching to a predicted high in the 70's today.  The sun is warm and bright and we are back to using the AC after one night of finally using the heat.  It did drop down to 36 the other night, 2 degrees lower than predicted.  Praise God it didn't last long.  We have already had a small family bible study this morning on the 15th chapter of Matthew.  That was such a nice way to start off our day.  I wish we could dicipline ourselves to do that every day but we always wake up and run in our different directions with our own agenda to attend to.  Maybe with a little more prayer on this would help it to come about and become a regular event for us.

May everyone enjoy their day and receive all of heavens blessings with thanksgiving.  May the Lord protect us from all harm throughout the day.

Hello Carrie! I'm glad you could join us! This is the place to say hello and share with others. We have some other great threads. There's a study in John that Jeanette just posted on again. Very good! Let us here from you and feel free to join in where you feel led.

Well, there is snow on the mountain tops and a cold wind blowing, so I too am glad that I'm snuggled down under a warm blanket and sipping hot tea. We expect a possible snow flurry tonight, the first of the season, and early for us.

Michael, it's a date! If not in this lifetime, but with the Lord at that great feast we will be attending.

Florika, enjoy your travel and I'm glad you'll have your laptop with you. You can stay in contact that way.

I hope everyone has a good night and I'll see you tomorrow. May the Lord bless you and keep you in His loving arms.

Wow! It looks like I missed out this morning with everyone being here. It's very cold here today, but the neighbors have their heat on so we are nice and toasty inside.

Michael, I'd like to come next year too! The menu sounds yummy!

Jeannete and Carla, I'm glad you are both doing better. Being down on a holiday is a two edged sword. You can get lots of rest, but you miss the festivities (sometimes).

Florika, I'm sorry you're having trouble posting. I hope you will have better luck later today.

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday and today you are rested up for a nice weekend. God bless you all and if I forgot anyone, I'm sorry. I'm feeling a little forgetful today.

What a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving we had.  I spent the day in my chair, ate when I got the urge, slept a lot, couldn't sleep much last night, but when I finally did get to sleep, I slept in and it felt so good.  Also, this morning my right foot and ankle was back down to normal from keeping it up so much yesterday.  Thank you Lord!  I slept a lot later than I intended to.  It dropped down to 37 last night but is supposed to warm up a little more today than it was yesterday.  I'm so glad not to be out in the Black Friday crowds today, they keep showing the mall and shopping centers around town on the TV and what a mess.  I don't know which would be the most frustrating, fighting the crowds inside the store or driving around half of Georgia looking for a parking place within walking distance to the store.   Such a beautiful day to stay home and be thankful a little more.  I do hope that everyone had an equally peaceful and blessed holiday.

Michael. . . .Wednesday was a full day for you all.  I hope the MRI results come in today or soon.  I'm remembering Steven on my prayer list.  Was this just a routine eye exam for Brandon?  It's good to take advantage of their being out of school to make all their appointments so they don't have to miss any study time.  I always hated to have to do make-up work in school.

I'm giving you fair notice that next year I'm coming to your house for Thanksgiving.  Cake is my #1 weakness and I love carrot cake and orange cake.  Your menu sounds so delicious.  I'll pack a fold up chair and bring my own plate, fork and glass to drink out of.  Just put me in a corner near the cakes and you won't even know I'm there.  We had lemon pie and chocolate pie.  I never did get around to making my pumpkin cake that I was holding off for a whole month from making.  I just might have to get in the kitchen later and make that little tread for us.

Karen. . . .That is very interesting about the turkey.  I never knew that before.  I kept telling myself all day yesterday that I was going to call you but between my naps and must being lazy, I never got around "tuit".  We watched some good shows on Trinity Broadcast Network, it was interesting and educational too.

Donna. . . .I hope your graphics do well in the store.  The busier they keep you, the better.

Florika. . . .So glad that your thanksgiving day was a blessed one also.  And you are right, all diets go out the window on this one day of the year.  I have been trying so hard to lose some weight and I put on 2 pounds yesterday.  It's a good thing I wasn't at Michaels around all that cake or it might have been 6 pounds.

Carla. . . .Praise God that you are feeling better this soon. I'm sorry your Thanksgiving found you on the down side and prevented you from enjoying a big meal like the rest of us.  However, we are to thank God for all things, so at least you are not in my shoes having to lose the same old pounds over and over again.  Soup and Sprite diet is a blessing also.  Keeping you in prayer for a speedy recovery and hope you can enjoy some leftovers before they are all gone.  If those shots keep you healthy for the rest of the winter, then it all might have been worth it.  I'm still not taking them though.  I'm just going to take a leap of faith and remain humble and dependant on the Lord.  I don't think I could handle what you have along with my breathing issues.  That must might do me in for good.

Vicky. . . .if you are having to work today, I hope all of your customers are not as unruly as the mobs in the other stores.  May you have an enjoyable day.

Our morning sunshine has turned to heavy cloud cover and it looks like rain is on the way.  We are under a high pressure right now and the air is dryer and easier for breathing.  Guess if rain is coming, the humidity will go back up again.  I'll just have to enjoy it while it's here.  May the Lord bless the remainder of our day and continue to keep us all safe from harm.

I hope Jeanette's leg is feeling much better and she is soon back to being here also.

I feel some better this morning, no fever and cold chills last night. I will never take those shots again. I wasn't sick before I took them but starting that night was a different story.

We had a very quiet thanksgiving, just the 3 of us. That was ok also with me being sick I did not feel like even eating the little I did. I have mainly been doing the chicken soup and sprite thing.

I will be back later, got to go feed the outside animals.

I hope everyone had a happy day. Carla I'm sorry you're still sick. Are you keeping anything down at all? I hope you are getting enough fluids.

We had left over turkey sandwiches today, but were lazy and took it easy. Nothing like a very relaxing day.

Tomorrow is the biggest shopping day of the year. If you going to be out in it, hang on to your hat. I usually try to avoid shopping on this day if I can.  God bless each one of you and may you sleep well.

I'm poppin in for a minute before we leave to go to my brother's house but I want to wish each and every one a lovely Thanksgiving.    Thank you, Jesus for all the good things you have blessed me with all year.

Hi everyone!
I improved my design! The court case went okay. Also, a small door has been opened to me. A little gift shop opened up in Indianola, and we know the people who opened it. They take products on consignment so I asked if she would take framed graphic designs and she said yes. So I took two to the gift shop and if they sell, they get ten percent of the sale. This is a nice opportunity for me.
Well, everyone, have a wonderful Thanksgiving! God Bless, Donna

Good evening everyone God bless.

Jeanette I left this morning at 8;15 to take Steven to dr. and then I had to wait for MRI and take the other boy Brandon to eye dr. I got back at 5:00 this evening. The Dr. cant tell us nothing until he gets the MRI reports back. He tried ti drain the fluid but could not get it out so we will have to wait and see.

Vicky I love lemon pie, looks good.

Karen when I eat most foods I get sleepy I know turkey is worser.

Jeanette, turkey contains a natural enzyme called tryptophan (trip-toe-fan) that makes you naturally drowsy. I always get so sleepy and was told that if you have eaten turkey, that's probably why. I wonder though... what about getting up and working like a slave in the kitchen all day... hmm... maybe, just maybe there's a connection...?

I'm glad you had a good meal, though. And I hope that everyone has a time to stop and reflect and be thankful, no matter what day or night it is. Good night everyone!

Michael. . . .Peanutbutter candy/fudge is my favorite candy also.  Even Reeces Peanutbutter Cups.  As we call it around here. . . .Peabutton Utter.  How is Steven's knee coming along?  What did the doctor have to say about it?

Linda. . . .I agree about the forgetfulness of manners and common courteousy to our fellow man this time of year.  It makes you wonder what these people are even thankful for to bother celebrating Thanksgiving.  If they ever start giving gifts on Thanksgiving, maybe then it will become more popular and the decorations will hang around a little longer.  You are blessed not to have to work the late shift and clean up the store on Friday.  No matter how rough it gets, you still have something to be thankful for.

Carla. . . .Sounds like your Thanksgiving will be one of healing and I pray you are feeling well enough to enjoy it. May all of your side-effects of the shots be gone by then. I do not plan to take the flu shots. . . .we never do take them and we seem to manage just fine.  My poor Poppa took the flu shot and the pneumonia shot ever year and every year he ended up in the hospital after his flu went into pneumonia.  I swore off those shots then and have never taken them since.  I also heard the news report that you should not take them if you are already sick.  I don't know why your doctor gave them to you with they are advising against it.  Will keep praying for you to have a speedy recovery.

Donna. . . .I love your graphic.  I hope you and yours also have a blessed day.

Vicky. . . .Your pie is beautiful.  Looks just like my mother used to make.  Lemon is Ray's favorite, it used to be mine.  My favorite has been replaced now with Egg Custard.  I guess Apple would be second.

Karen. . . .I'm so glad that your day went so well and that you got to eat all that good food BEFORE having to go to the dentist.  Let him pick out all of the leftovers ~    We had our big dinner today.  I worked like a carpenter ant all morning and finally brought it all together.  Then Ray went and picked up the Turkey that Teresa had ordered and dinner was served.  I am as full as a tick right now.  I don't know what it is about turkey and dressing that makes an afternoon nap necessary, but I'm about to go take mine anyway.  I am so pooped, I really need it.  Now I can rest tomorrow and eat cold turkey sandwiches like Karen.

May everyone here have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and enjoy the many blessings the Lord has bestowed upon us.

Good Afternoon everyone! I am peeling the sleep from my eyes and wishing I had more time to sleep from staying up so late. We had a wonderful time with my son and his friends. There was lots of yummy food and great fellowship. My daughter and I decided to clean up last night so today I could rest. But then I remembered I had a dentist appointment at 9am so I went and then came back and slept for about an hour. But, I discovered once I was up, it was too hard to go back to sleep. But yes, Vicky, tomorrow we're going to have turkey sandwiches and leftovers for dinner. I'm so thankful that my son was here to share this with us.

I'm sorry to go on so long... I do hope each of you has a great day tomorrow and Vicky, lemon meringue in my favorite pie of all! It looks so good! And the white peaks look so perfect... I would like a piece please!

Happy Thanksgiving to each of you and may the Lord bless you today as you prepare for a day of rejoicing in the blessings you have. It is the one day that reminds me of the feasts in the bible. Those must have been spectacular.

Good morning Michael, Carla and those who come later.

Carla, I'm sorry you're feeling bad and I hope you get well soon.   Not sure about other shots but I know if anyone decides to get the Swine Flu one  they are not to get it if they're sick (or starting to feel sick) already.   It can make you really ill.

Michael, I hope this lovely day finds you well.   How is your son doing?

I feel horrible. I went to the doctor yesterday, just to get refills on meds and he talked me into taking the flu shots(2) and a pneumonia shot. I had fever and cold chills all night. I just could not get warm. I ended up with 2 quilts, 2 afghans and an electric throw on me before I got warm.

Now this morning I can not get enough water. I do not ever want those shots all at once again. Think I will call the doctor and tell him what I think about those shots.

I hope your night and day are much better than this.

Good evening everyone.....yes Linda, poor Thanksgiving seems to be an almost forgotten holiday in the stores (except for food items).   The one holiday to really bestow praise and thanks to our Lord and it has fallen by the wayside.    Not to say that we shouldn't give thanks daily but Thanksgiving used to be acknowledged more.

Michael, I hope your son's knee is healing.

Karen, I can almost feel the warmth and smell the good smells emanating from your kitchen.   Thursday when most of us are cooking, visiting, cleaning, etc. you'll be resting from yours.

I hope everyone has a blessed evening!

Good evening everyone. We've been spending the past two days, plus tomorrow, getting the store I work at ready for black friday. We are opening 4am on that day. I have to work from 7am to 5pm on friday. Already I'm dreading going into work that day. Seems as if customers get more greedy and inconsiderate and rude and impatient every year. Plus they just throw stuff wherever and make a huge mess of the store. I feel sorry for the workers who have to do the closing shift.

It seems like Thanksgiving has become the forgotten holiday. There were people putting up Christmas lights and decorations right after Halloween. It's hard to find any Thanksgiving or fall type decorations in any of the stores. It's practically all Christmas stuff.

Don't know when I will be able to visit the group again so I will wish everyone a blessed Thanksgiving.

I am so far behind on my computer contacts I may never get caught up.  It is warm today, in mid 70's but by tomorrow night supposed to drop down to 38.  It's always cold here for Black Friday.  I have been busy all day making cornbread for the dressing, chopping celery and onions and making "deviled" eggs.  Teresa ordered a turkey already cooked for us this year since I'm not able to be up very long at a time and lifting one and tending to it would be so hard with my breathing.  Since we have to pick it up tomorrow (they will be closed Thursday) I'm going to try to have enough food ready that we can have Thanksgiving dinner 2 days in a row.  Then on Thursday I can sit in my recliner and watch Macy's parade and the football games in the afternoon.  Or nap!  My right ankle is starting to get puffy again so I'm going to my chair for a while and prop it up again.  May the Lord bless all of you abundantly and keep us all safe in His loving care.

Good morning everyone! My daughter woke me up at 6am PST to help with the turkey and I finally got some time to get on the computer. This is going to be a noisy affair, so I'm looking forward to Thursday which will be a quiet time that I can reflect on things I'm thankful for.

Michael I'm sorry about your son's injury. Will he need physical therapy when it's healed? My son had a displaced kneecap and it always gives him trouble unless he wears a kneebrace.

Jeanette, don't overdo today. I'm glad you're able to get up some, that's important, but take time for resting.

Carla, believe or not, the sun came out this morning and is shining through the windows. Even though it's 34 degrees, it's toasty inside with the oven on and the smell of food cooking. We just bundle up when we go outside.

I hope everyone has a great day and may the Lord bless you and keep you safe.

Michael. . . .Ice won't help my swelling, it's fluid retention, not an injury.  I'm sorry to hear about Steven, a knee injury so young could interfer with his future in sports if he is interested in them.  I will be in prayer for him.

Hello Chuck. . . .Welcome back and may you have a blessed holiday.  Hope you stay around longer this time, we always need input from others to help us grow in the Word.

Karen. . . .Hope all of you have a most blessed day tomorrow.  Get a good nights rest, you will need it.  Try not to over do.  Call me whenever you get rested from it all.  Eat a piece of pie for me too.

I have stayed up a bit too long today but it sure felt good.  My ankle and top of my foot is swollen again tonight so I guess tomorrow I won't stay up quite as much.  I'll just have to make good use of the time I am up.  At least I'm about to get caught up with the laundry again.  It's all up out of the floor.  All that's left is some sweaters that have to be washed separately and put flat on towels to dry.  They can't go into the dryer.  Hope to see everyone in the morning.

Hello Everybody. . . .I'm trying to be up on my feet today and hope the swelling doesn't come back.  I don't think I will be up long at a time though.  After sitting for so long and not doing anything, the least little bit of activity gets me to huffing and puffing for each breath I take.  Guess I'll have to build it back up slowly.

Karen. . . .Hope Karen doesn't catch cold or get sick from being out in the cold.  When she comes in, have a hot cup of tea or cocoa ready for her to help warm her inside.  Black Friday is so named because the day after Thanksgiving is usually the day the merchants get out of the red and back into the black on their financial status.  With the economy as bad as it is this year, I don't know if they will make it all the way to the black or not.  They might have to rename it Gray Friday.

Need to go post on Today's Scripture thread and then try to empty the dishwasher.  I also have a load of wet clothes in the washer I need to get Ray to lift out into the dryer for me.  Then it will probably be chair time again.

May the Lord continue to bless us each and every day and keep us safe from all harm.

Good Morning everyone! It's 30 degrees outside and there's white stuff on the grass! Actually, I think it's frost and not snow with a lot of fog to add to the mess. My daughter has to go out this morning, so I pray she stays warm.

Does anyone know what this 'black friday' shopping is about? Are they talking about the day after Thanksgiving? Here is another example of what I was talking about. The focus is lost... not the reason they want to buy a gift. I thank God that He is the reason for my celebrating and remembering Christ's birth.

Jeanette, I'm hoping you'll be in again today and that all is well.

Carla, Michael, Vicky, Donna, Florika and anyone else i forgot, have a wonderful Monday filled with God's love.

Good Morning November 23, 2009 3:46 AM

Vicky that is a great idea about feeding the birds and squirrels.
Michael maybe you can fix something like that to save the rest of the pigeons.

Karen I know what you mean about rudeness, it seems the closer it gets to the holidays the worse they get. Stress from financial, anticipation of family meals, and such I think is the main reason they end up getting to the point of rudeness. I wish they would all stop and think what is really important.

Jeanette how are you today?

Good morning everyone I pray God blesses your day.

Graced by His Prayers
--from the messages of Adrian Rogers

BIBLE MEDITATION:
Hebrews 7:25 - "Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.."

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
Do you ever feel you are all alone when a struggle hits your life? Tell yourself, "I am graced by His prayers." Jesus is watching over you, and He is praying for you. The Savior. The Shepherd. The King. The Prince. He is praying for you! Do you feel encouraged? I do! Just to know that the One who died for me "ever liveth to make intercession" for me is enough. He lives to stand in the gap for you and for me. What a mighty God we serve! What mercy we don't deserve! You are on Jesus' prayer list! You. He knows you. And He is praying you through the eye of the storm.

ACTION POINT:
Do you have a prayer list? Go through that list today and pray for someone you haven't prayed for in awhile and trust God to answer, even today!

Yes Michael, if you can give the doves some covering while they eat (so the hawks cannot fly down and get them easily) and a sheltered place to run to if they sense danger, then maybe they won't be as scary and the hawks will move on to easier pickings.

Karen, isn't it pitiful that at two of the most lovely holidays of the year when people should be kind and loving one to another they are instead rude and unkind?   Makes me sad to realize that people don't even pretend to have God or thanksgiving in their hearts anymore...it's ME, ME, ME or MINE, MINE, MINE.

Jeanette, good to see you up and about.

Hi Carla... I'm glad your feeling better. I think with the ads, they are put there for the whole of Care2 and maybe they haven't got this kind of feedback yet. I haven't seen them myself. Have you put anything on the Feedback and Suggestions group? They are always talking about ads there.

Jeanette, I'm glad to see you up and around, but take it easy until you are sure that your leg is OK. Have a good night and I'm see you tomorrow.

Vicky, we went shopping on Friday and it was a madhouse. We came home shaking our heads with disbelief at people's attitudes about doing some shopping. I was excited about getting to get out and do holiday shopping. What happened to "Thanksgiving"? We saw a lot of grumpy people, especially around the turkeys where they were having the 22 cents a pound sale. Eeek! It was pretty serious stuff.

I hope you all have a truly happy Thanksgiving holiday, whatever day you celebrate it. Just remember to thank the Lord for all things. May you also have a good night and a good Monday morning.

Back, and feeling some better.

Jeanette I am so happy to see you. Take care, blood clots are scary. I am still on coumidin for mine.
Hey Karen, Vicky,Michael and all our other family.

I am upset about something I just seen here on the group page, when I headed to this thread there was a ad on the side, I know there are ads all the time now. This one really did not belong here in this group, it was for "Getting ripped" I know it is for tight abs, what bothered me is the fact that the people in the ad were bare chested, male and female. I know ads pay for us getting this place free but come on, partial nudity is going too far.
Sorry got my gripe out for the day.
time I guess.

Hello everybody.....thank you Karen for keeping the updates on my absence.  The doctor gave me a good scare this time, I have had swelling in my legs and feet before but this time it seemed to be concentrated mostly on my right leg and foot.  He said if it was regular fluid retention, it would be in both legs and feet.  When it's in just one like mine was, it could indicate a blood clot.  He told me to keep it elevated and that is what I've been trying to do.  My fanny is so tired from sitting in that recliner for so long.  It has stayed down pretty good today so if it doesn't swell back up tonight, I plan to try staying up tomorrow.  I need to be able to stand to prepare thanksgiving dinner.  Maybe if I do just a little each day it will all come together by Thursday.  It started raining yesterday afternoon, late, and has continued off and on through the night and today.  The heavy cloud cover has kept the temps from dropping too cold, although it is much cooler than what we usually have.  I'm going back to my recliner in a few minutes and want to walk around a little bit first so I'll run along and hope to be back in the morning.  Thank all of you for your prayers.  May the Lord bless everyone abundantly and keep us all safe from harm.

Good morning Carla, Michael, Jeanette, Florika, Karen, Donna, Linda, Aaron and all those that visit later.   I am praying healing prayers for all those that need some.

Michael, I am so sorry the hawks got your pigeons.   I know they have to eat but I don't want to see them snatch them.   And pigeons are so slow.  Poor babies.

Carla, I got wise to the big birds that would prey on my squirrels and wild birds.    My friend built a shelf under the branches of the trees (5 ft above ground) that hawks won't (or can't) fly to.   It offers protection of a sort.   If an animal or bird is out in the open then a hawk/eagle can reach them...so I try to make it difficult.   Now when they (squirrels/birds) leave my feeding area then they're on their own.  I know everything has to eat so.....

Oh Michael I am sorry about your pigeons, I know what you mean. I used to throw bird feed on top of our garage for the birds and squirrels 3 times a day. They knew when it was time for feeding, they would come from all directions.
then to my horror 4 hawks started showing up, I know that is the way of nature but I felt like I was fattening their lunch for them.
I had one of the hawks fly right between me and the garage after one of the squirrels. Very scary to have those talons about 5 inches from my head.
I love God's creatures

Good Morning! Michael, Carla, Florika and Vicky, I guess you missed my post yesterday... I mentioned that Jeanette's leg was swollen and she had to keep it up, so she was laying down all day. Sorry you missed that. Anyway, I pray that everyone is safe and warm today and you have a blessed Saturday.

Good Morning November 21, 2009 4:01 AM

Hello everyone, how is your morning going? Well for those on the opposite side of our planet how is your night?
Where is Jeanette? I hope her or Teresa is not sick. I know she said Teresa had to take that nitro tablet the other day.

I fed my strays and they were hurrying to eat this morning, guess it must be the rain that is supposed to be moving in. Funny how you can watch animals and they sense weather changes way before we do

hugs for all

Good evening! Jeanett, I did more than stick my head out the door... the sunwas shining so I sat on the porch for a while and let the sun beat down on me. I think it got all the way up to 50 degrees to day, and my headache went away. You were probably right about the heater. Now, I feel fine.

Linda, we had our share of rain for days, but it will end soon. The next thing you know we'll all be saying it's too hot again! LOL!

I hope everyone has a goo night and sleeps as well as possible. Tomorrow we are going grocery shopping for an early Thanksgiving dinner next Tuesday. That's my son's day off from work. It will be challenging bring home a 25lb. bird along with all the trimmings. But, all things are possible! God bless everyone!

Good evening to all. It's been raining on and off the past couple days, just a light drizzle. After work I had to go to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned. Not exactly on the top of my list of favorite things to do. At least I won't have to go back again until sometime in March.

Jeanette-loved the photo of the horses in the snow. They are one of my favorite animals. When I was in grade school or junior high I went through a period where the only books I would read were ones about horses.

Wishing all a blessed goodnight.

Hello Florika. . .Sable. . .Vicky. . .Michael. . .Carla. . . Karen. . .and all other members and visitors.  It's another beautiful and sunny day here.  After a start of 41 degrees, it is climbing and should reach 72 today.  The Lord is so good to give me a repeat of yesterday to enjoy since I missed out on Wednesday.  I'm staying home today and enjoying every minute of this one.

Teresa over did herself going out to the store last evening and had to take a nitro for her heart right before going to bed.  I stayed awake and watched her as long as I could to make sure she was sleeping comfortably and breathing normally.  Then I zonked out and slept like a baby the rest of the night.  It sure felt good too.  When I woke up this morning I just nestled down deeper in my covers to keep warm and watched some TV before dragging myself up.

Karen. . . .I hope your headach go away soon, that is a miserable way to spend a day.  Stick your nose out the door and see if the cooler fresh air will help chase it away. I know when we first turn on the heat each year it blows all that stuff out of the vents and just the smell of heat will make me feel bad for a while.  I dread having to turn ours on this year.  So far, we are still using the AC.  Just because it's cold outside doesn't make it cold inside.  There is so much insulation on this house that it will stay warm for a good while into cold weather.  As long as it warms up during the daytime, it will stay warm through the night.  I can breathe so much easier with the AC than the heater.

Well, got some more posting to do so will be moving on. May the Lord bless every member and visitor here and keep us all safe through the day.

Jeanette, I'm glad you finally made it home and are snuggling off to bed now. That's the best place for you after a long day. Our temps got all the way up to 40 degrees today, and now I can hear Heather in there coughing. She's tucked away under a blanket keeping warm, so I'm glad.

Donna, that's a good saying. That's what I like about our prayer thread. I know that others are joined in prayer with me.

It's time for me to start winding down so I can face another day tomorrow. May you all be safe and warm tonight and filled with God's love.

Hello Sable. . .Welcome to Salvation By Grace.  I'm sorry to be so late today in welcoming you to the group.  I have been like Willie Nelson all day. . . .On The Road Again.  We are so delighted to have you.

Karen. . . .It's time to build a bon-fire and chase those cold temps away.  It makes me cold just thinking about it.  BBbrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

This has really been one beautiful day down the drain here.  I had a 12:45 appointment with the doctor.  When I got there, they put me in an exam room and informed me that the doctor was at lunch.  He didn't show up until 2:20.  Then he took his sweet time like he was ahead of schedule instead of hours behind.  Then they sent me to the lab to have blood drawn.  I was too tired to go get my scripts filled, he gave me about 9 of them.  Ray brought me home so I could get back on my oxygen and he went to get them filled for me.  But did he get anything on the grocery list we made for him??? Nope!  So when he got back home Teresa and I had to leave and go to the bank and then to the store.  That was another 2 1/2 hours.  I missed out on the beautiful sunshine and warmer temps today completely.  By the time we unloaded the car, put up the groceries, and then ate supper, all of a sudden it's bed time.  I can only hope everyone had a good day and hope to see all of you again in the morning.

    gn

May the Lord bless each of us with a restful sleep and keep us safe through the night.

A man from Pakistan told me this:
"Many small raindrops will make a large river!"
If you are like me you become discouraged with all the bad news; however, like the tiny raindrops our prayers and actions become a mighty river!"
Be encouraged that what ever you are doing is making a difference!
Grace and Peace in the name of the Lord Jesus!

Oh Michael. . . .I'm not going on the roof, although these shelves that I cleaned are up next to the ceiling.  Many years ago I climbed up on the roof to help a friend with putting up a CB antenna.  I'm not afraid of being up there. . . .but I am scared to death to come back down.  I thought they were going to call the fire department to come get me down like a cat in a tree.    I can't remember now just how they did coax me down.  When I was a kid we used to climb on the roof of the garage and jump off.  That was before I had good sense though.  See you again later in the day.

Aaron. . .Linda. . .and all others who enter today.  It is another cool (cold to me) sunny morning with temps in the low 40's.  Today's high to be in the 60's and tomorrow back into the 70's again.  Yeaaaaa!!!!!  Can hardly wait.  I was right yesterday about sore muscles, I hurt in places today that I forgot existed.  Guess I will be taking Ibuprophen for the next few days.  Bad think is that I still need to make one more trip up that ladder.  Those shelves is where I display part of my Native American plate collection on individual plate stands.  I put all the plates in the dish washer and hand washed all of the stands.  Now they need to be put back up there.

Got to run, lots of things to do before I have to start getting ready to go.  Will be back later in the afternoon.  May the Lord bless all of you and keep us safe throughout the day.

Boy do I feel embarrased. I thought I posted this morning and came in to see that I didn't. It was a busy day and after accidently sleeping in, and rushing off to the store, we didn't get back until late in the afternoon. My how the day is backwards when I don't get to spend some quality time with God. I will get to tonight, but I like to start my day off right. It makes me more prepared to deal with the day properly.

I hope you all get a good night's rest and may the Lord bless you and keep you safe from harm.

Florika,  Sorry to hear you are still having posting difficulties, most of us are about to get straightened out and hope you will soon.

It's been a long, long day.  I did some cleaning way up high and had to go up and down a ladder several times. I used leg and thigh muscles I haven't used in a good while, hope I can get up tomorrow and walk.  I have a doctors appointment shortly after the noon hour.  They usually take most of the afternoon getting me in and out again.  That will make for another long day.  Hope to see all of you in here earlier before I have to get ready to leave.

May we all experience the blessing of a good nights rest and be kept safe from harm through the night.

Hello everyone, I am enjoying being here and able to read your posts, it was very lonely those weeks that I was unable to get in here.
It is cool here this morning, crisp breeze. I like a cool crisp breeze, not too cold though,it takes all my breath away it seems. Asthma and early stage emphysema and cold air just do not mix. Extreme heat does not work well either. south in the winter, north in the summer.
Well enough ramblin' let me get up and get my morning things done, back later in the day

Good evening to all. Well the weekend was beautiful but as of today we are back into colder temps. Today was cold and windy out. We're supposed to get rain sometime after midnight.  In fact they predict rain for the rest of the week.  I had today off, so I've been spending most of it doing errands. My last stop is the library before heading home. Hopefully I can visit my care2 groups as well as my yahoo groups before my computer time is up. Another drawback of not having my own PC. There's a limit of 2 hours a day on the library computers. Wishing everyone a blessed good night.

Carla, another thing you might try for your stomach is to eat some crackers.   It will settle it....and if you drink 7 up or Sprite, you should probably drink it warm with no ice.

Karen, thank you on my graphic.       Well I was off today but I will work 4 hours tomorrow and 4 hours Wednesday.

I probably won't make it back tonight so I will bid everyone adieu now.    It is raining pretty good right now; I am listening to it hit the roof.   Such a relaxing sound.

Carla. . . .So sorry to hear you are sick, seems like it came on suddenly.  I pray it's not that swine flue going around.  Do you have any Pepto or something to take for that?  You must be very careful not to dehydrate.  If you have 7-UP or Sprite, that would be good to sip on.  Keep us posted on how you are doing.  You will be in my prayers.

Karen. . . .I just now saw the post to pray for Heather out in the weather.  I guess by now she is back home.  If my memory serves me correctly, you both have to go out in the morning.  I hope things warm up a bit for you but if not, be sure to dress warm and protect your health.

I just might have to make some cookies or something tonight, just thinking of Heather baking is making my sweet tooth drool.

We had a hard rain for about an hour right after lunch time and it brought in a fast moving cold front with it.  Our low tonight is supposed to drop down to 44.  I hope it moves on out as fast as it moved in since they described it as "fast moving."  I guess I will be sleeping in something with long sleeves in it tonight.  Give me a chance to get all my tank tops washed up, I'll probably be back in them in a couple of days.  I have a doctors appointment on Wednesday so I hope it is warm again by then.

Got to run, time to eat dinner.  Will be back later to say good night.

Good morning everyone! Michael it's so good to see you back! I have missed you and I'm glad your pc troubles are resolved. These sure are touchy machines.

Jeanette, Heather is going to bake something tonight, as a matter of fact. She hasn't decided what, since she has to be out today, but it'll warm up the the house. It's interesting... just a few short months ago, I didn't want her to use the oven because of the heat. Now I want her to and she's in a different routine of not baking. Time flies and Jesus will be coming sooner than we know!

Vicky I absolutely adore your graphic! That is soo... cute! I hope you are enjoying your day at work and you didn't overdo it.

Well, it's 31 degrees and there's ice outside, so say a little prayer for my daughter who has to be out in it this early morning. May all of you have a fantastic Monday and may the Lord bless you.

Well, it's that time of night again.  Karen, I would sure share my soup with you if we were close enough.  When the weather gets cold here, that's when I cook things in the oven, and the longer cooking time the better.  It helps to warm up the house.  I have been known to press up against the oven door to get warm before.  Tell Heather to go make a cake, roast a hen, or cook a pie, anything that will get the oven going.  Bake a ham.  If you like oatmeal, make a hot bowl of oats and warm the innards.

I have that yawning disease again so I'm going to sign off and call it a day.  Hope to see all of you again in the morning.

Let us remember to give God His due on this blessed Lord's Day.  May He keep us all safe in His loving care throughout the day.

Good morning Carla, Karen, Jeanette, Florika, Donna, Linda and Michael and Aaron should they pop in.   I tried to post last night but I kept getting a script error message (does anyone else?) so while shutting some open windows I accidentally closed this one where I had my message all written so I lost everything and said to heck with it and shut down my computer.    I sure hope Michael gets his computer problems straightened out and online again.   I know he misses being here as much as we miss him.

Jeanette, your soup sounds good....I love to make a big pot and freeze a couple of small containers for my lunch during the month.   However, I usually don't have much left so I take out what I want in the beginning so that I know I'll have some to freeze.

Carla, your fall sparkly graphic is very pretty.

Well I will be off to church in a bit then work for 4 hours so I will wish everyone a blessed day now.

Jeanette you were very busy. I wish I had some of that energy. Thanks for letting us know about Michael. Hope it all turns out well for him. I need to make some homemade soup after hearing how yours turned out. It has been awhile.

Karen glad you have some sunshine instead of rain.

Hello to everyone, this is a fine day our Lord has blessed us with.

Karen. . . .any and all sunshine is welcome when the temps are so low.  I'm glad you warmed up even just a little.  Maybe tomorrow will be even better.  We made it to the upper 70's today and tonights low will stay in the 60's.

I have been a busy little bee this afternoon.  I went out and cleaned the inside of the car windows.  I still have the back winshield to do, my breathing gave out on me and I just couldn't finish today.  Then, after a brief rest, I emptied all of my canisters into  bowls and washed all of them.  There was only a wee bit of sugar and flour and cornmeal in each of them and I wanted them washed before filling them up again.  They are glass and now they look so pretty and sparkley.  My new bag of cornmeal was too big so I ended up pouring the left over into 2 zip lock baggies to store.  Can't stand open bags in my cabinets.

My soup turned out delicious.  Seems like it was extra good this time.  Don't know what the difference would have been but it had more flavor.  Maybe it was a better cut of stew meat.  We were all happy and had our fill.

Time for this grandma to go horizontal for the night.  Hope to see all of you in here sometime tomorrow, either before or after church.  Have a restful sleep and may the Lord keep us all safe in His loving care through the night.

We were lucky to get some sunshine break through the clouds today. It got all the way up to 42 degrees today, so it looks like it won't be too much past freezing tonight.

Jeanette, actually I have an afghan partly finished, but it got sidetracked with all the clothes I've been sewing. Yes, maybe it's time to bring it out.

Have a good evening everyone and God bless you.

GOOD  MORNING  EVERYONE. . . .please excuse my tardiness today, I was determined to wash last nights dishes and get a pot of soup going before I sat down to this computer this morning.  Still need to start some laundry but a few more minutes won't hurt for it to wait.

I talked to Michael last night and his troubles are not easily remedied.  The cable company came out and ran a new cable for him and still his computer wouldn't work.  So they said it must be the modem.  He went into town and changed out the modem and still it wouldn't come to life.  It seems his new computer has died.  He still has the receipt and plans to return it to the store maybe this evening or sometime tomorrow.  We need to pray they have another one like it to exchange it for him.  That has to be very disappointing and most frustrating for him.

Linda. . . .So great to see you again.  I still think you should get a job at the library so you can post daily with us.  That would be so neat, getting paid to enjoy felowship with the rest of us.

Florika. . . .What precious graphics of the little doggies in their Japanese kimonos.  Animal clothing in this country is very expensive, I bet those would cost a small fortune.

Donna. . . .glad to see you today.  No comment on your book suggestion, I am currently not a care taker for that disease so I will leave that to others with experience.

Vicky. . . .I expected you to be tired after your first day back, you kind of got into the lazy and restful mode.  It's hard to push yourself for 4 hours straight when you are used to sitting down to rest more often at home.  You will get back in the groove again before long.

Karen. . . .Ice and snow so early. . . .WOW!  Now I remember why I was never interested in moving to Oregon.  Time to start crocheting an afagan so it will keep you warm resting in your lap while you are working on it. I'll try to give you a call later on this afternoon.

Carla. . . .I don't think I would like the "coons" hanging around.  They can be very destructive.  They will never go hungry, they are experts at raiding garbage cans and dumpsters.

Well, time to go start the laundry.  Hope all of you enjoy your weekend, please remember to pray for Michael's speedy return and resolution to his computer issues.

May the Lord bless us in all our activities and keep us safe from harm.

It's raining again, but at least it didn't snow last night, so I'm thankful. Donna, I wasn't trying to get down on you, I hope you know that. Thanks for explaining the source of the book. I hope you get to read it and find some real gems in it. Dealing with Alzheimers is difficult. My mother had Alzheimers before she passed away and it was difficult to see the changes in her.

Carla, I do put layers on when I start getting cold. Bit my hands and feet don't want to stay warm no matter what I wear. They are like little temperature gauges. Usually when the neighbors turn their heat on, our house warms up, so I'll just wait for that to happen. We live in between two other apartments.

I hope everyone has a good day... Jeanette, Florika, Michael, Arron, Vicky and all who haven't come in yet, good morning to you!

I found it in a magazine called The Upper Room, which is like a daily devotional in large print, and is non-denominational.The Upper Room is what impressed me. Please forgive me for recommending the book, which I have not read. the title of the book impressed me and after I graduate I plan to go to the library and see if I can find it or order it through inter library loan. If it isn't good I owe everyone an apology.

Stay warm Karen, layering clothing is a great way to do that. I used to live in a very drafty house and the heating bills were terrible. So we learned to layer our clothing inside and it helped.

Vicky take care and get some rest, I am sure they were happy though to see you back.

Hello Jeanette,Michael, Donna,Linda,Lady F, how are all of this fine day? Also to any others I may have missed as well.

Good idea on the feeding stations Jeanette, the only problem is I have several coons in the neighborhood that would eat until it was gone. I don't mind them eating, they just get greedy and then none left for the cats. I feed them twice a day, at least this way I am sure they are not starving.

Well let me get up and find a devotion, I need a good one this morning.

 hugs for all

No, Jeanette, it didn't rain today, it iced over and snowed! Although it didn't stick, I haven't been warm all day! I finally broke down and put on a heavy sweater, but my hands have been cold. I can't turn the heat on this early in the season or we'll go broke. It seems that the cold has come early this year and the very icy weather. Heather is going out tomorrow and I hope she stays warm. At least she's going in a car with her dad, so they can turn the heater on. Well, I can be thankful that I don't have anywhere to go until Tuesday and maybe by then the weather will have changed. I hope everyone is having a nice, warm night tonight. I seem to still be awake.

Linda I'm glad you could get in to say hello today. It must be so hard not having your own pc.

Vicky, getting back to your job is good but please take it easy and don't try to do too much. I'm glad you were able to catch up with all your friends and get paid for it too.

Donna, I'm curious how you found out about this book, if you haven't read it. Did someone reccomend it to you? Being an ex-nurse, I know there are a lot of books with 'sage wisdom' out there, but I shy away from something that's being reccomended that hasn't been checked out thoroughly. But, if you trust the source and are using it, that's different.

Florika, what a cute graphic! Warm little animals. They look so cozy!

Have a good night and may God bless each one of you.

Hello Jeanette, Donna, Karen, Linda, Florika, Michael, Aaron and anybody else I may have missed.    Well my first day back was tiresome (even though I only worked 4 hours) but it was wonderful to see everyone again.    Yep Jeanette...I think the doctor felt sorry for me.  teehee!

This will be short but I wanted to pop in.   I have to work a few hours tomorrow too but I will try to post more.   I had a few things to do when I got home so I didn't have much time today.

Have a blessed evening everyone!

Just dropping by to say "hello". We have had some pretty nice weather for November so far. Mornings and evenings are usually a bit on the nippy side, however the middle of the day has been nice. Temps have been in the 50's and 60's. We even hit 70 last weekend. So far there has been little or no rain which is kind of nice after a very rainy and dismal October.

Jeanette-those are some awesome storm photos. I can imagine being on one of those oil rigs during a hurricane can be very scary.

Aaron-glad you finally have your own computer. I look forward to the day I have my own computer. Right now I have to make due with using one of the computers at the library. If all goes well I hope to be able to get a computer or laptop sometime after the first of the year.

GOOD  AFTERNOON  EVERYBODY.  Boy did I do something out of the ordinary this morning.  I was waiting for a page to load on the computer and fell asleep.  I slept good last night and was up early but I start yawning when it's cool and couldn't keep my mouth shut.  The more I yawned, the heavier my eyelids got.  Now I'm wasted for the rest of the day.  I'm as tired as when I went to bed last night.

Karen. . . .I'm glad your rain has stopped.  We also had upper 40's this morning but those 30's can take a couple of more months getting here and I will like it just fine.

Vicky. . . .I'm so glad you have finally been released to go back to work.  Right here at Christmas time you really needed the extra $$$.  Maybe the doctor felt sorry for you.    Thank the Lord for the blessing.

Carla. . . .When the weather is cold, I don't go outside the door unless I just have to.  You need to get some of those feeders that you fill up and the bowl continues to refill from the storage bottle.  That way you don't have to go outside to feed them every day.  Just when the bottle or jar gets empty.

Donna, that is not very much longer to wait, you must be getting so anxious for graduation and to get that diploma in your little hands.  Then it will all be behind you and the hard part begins.  Building a career and using all of that knowledge you have gained.

May the Lord bless everyone and keep us all safe from harm throughout the day.

Good Morning Carla, Donna and all you that will come in- Jeanette, Vicky and Michael, Florika and everyone else. It's 34 degrees today, but at least it's not raining right now! Maybe it'll warm up a little today and things can dry out.

Carla, I know what you mean about being cold in the mornings. It's been almost freezing for about a week now and I my have to turn my heater on.

Donna, I hope you are having fun with your schooling as well as getting educated. I know that sounds silly, but I mean I hope you are enjoying what you are doing.

God bless everyone today and have a good Friday!

Good Friday morning to everyone,
Vicky I am glad that you are well enough to go back to work. Take it easy the first few days though.
Karen, sorry about all the rain, down here we know how that feels also. It is cool here this morning, only 48 outside. I had to hurry out there this morning in my pj's feeding the strays. There were all lined up and waiting on me. A couple let me get close but the majority of them are scared.
Jeanette how are you today? Did you get some rest last night? I hope so.
well time to start getting these menfolk going so let me get up and start my calling.

Have a good night everyone.

Good evening all!   I went to the doctor this morning (4 hours), then I went to get reinstated back at work (YAY!) and then did a little grocery shopping.   I was all tuckered out when I got home (since I had been up since 6 am) and my mom had cooked a delicious pork roast so after eating I laid down and relaxed.

Jeanette, thanks for remembering my 'used to' weekly excursions but as of 2 weeks ago I think those will be over for a while.

Sorry I don't have time to post more and I may not til tomorrow afternoon since I work tomorrow 10-2 pm.   Carla, snag away...we all do that!

Michael if you peek in I hope you are soon on good terms with your computer as mine and myself were not on speaking terms for a month.
Well let me get these sore knees up and move some, they sure are achy today.

Good Morning All! It's been raining continuously all night and yesterday. At least  the wind has died down. I'm thankful that it's just a little rain and not like the hurricane back east.

Jeanette I'm glad you're feeling better and you are up and around.

Carla. . . .I love that graphic.  Have to tell you that I snagged it for future use.  It's great to see you back with your cheery greetings.

It's a beautiful, sunny, day here with a little nip in the air, but not too much.  My heart goes out to those on the east coast that are being inconvienced by the remnants of hurricane Ida.  They seem to be getting more damage than a direct hit on the Gulf.  It's even worse right here just a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving.  I hope they can all recover in time to have a normal and thankful day with their loved ones.

Vicky. . . .Karen. . . .Florika. . . .Donna. . . .Linda. . . .Aaron. . . .we are still waiting to hear from you today.  It would be nice if more of our silent members would join in with us also.

Michael. . . .I am so relieved to see you posting today, I'm so very sorry you are having computer problems.  It it your PC or your Internet Service Provider?  We are all praying for a resolution to your absence and that you will be back soon, if not sooner.

Florika. . . .I love your graphic, that is so unique and different.  The snow sounds beautiful but the cold weather sounds awful.  I miss the snow but I'll just stay here in the tropics and grow old as gracefully as possible.

Donna, Vicky, Carla, Karen. . . .now where is Miss Karen today. . . .It's great to see all of you here today too.

Hello to everyone, so far so good, no internet problems.

Karen to answer you on the Google chrome, I do not like it so far. I like the way you can choose a theme, but as for changing text size, I still can not change it in something I am writing. It keeps going back to the default size. So I think I will uninstall that and stick with Firefox.

Vicky it is nice to be back. I really missed this place.
I also have to snag a lot of new graphics I have been looking at.
Jeanette, Donna, Aaron, Lady F. and so many more I have not mentioned I hope your morning brings a peaceful and blessed day.

Karen. . . .A power outage is a good possibility.  I was watching the Weather Channel and it showed much rain and storms in that part of the country and it was announced that some people are experiencing a power outage.  If that is the reason we aren't hearing from him, I do hope they get it restored soon before all their food spoils in the fridge and other other issues arise from it.

I am very tired from my running around from store to store today so I am putting myself to and early retirement tonight.  Hope to see everybody back in here tomorrow, and especially Michael, say prayers for them.

Great photos Jeanette and of course your graphic is adorable.   We had lots of wind and rain last night, but 'just enough'...not enough to scare me.  I know my trees and flowers are loving it!

Carla, so good to see you!  How is the Chrome and other thing different from Internet Explorer or Firefox?   I am afraid to try new browsers but I'm glad you did...maybe now you won't have problems posting.

I wonder how Karen's shopping day went?   If I can't stand hordes of people before the holiday season I sure won't like it now.  (sigh)

I hope everyone has a blessed day!

Hey. . . .WELCOME BACK Carla. . . .You have really been missed.  Sorry for all of your computer issues and now the weather getting ready to act ugly for you.  I think the worst of it will be a little east of you, let's pray for that anyway.  Always best to be at the back door of anything of that nature.

Have any of you ever wondered what it looks like from an oil rig in the Gulf with those high waves?  Now is your chance.  Here are 3 photos taken at 3pm today of Hurricane Ida (minimal hurricane now).

Hurricane Ida

Hurricane Ida

Description:

From a viewer offshore -
These pics were taken around 3:00 pm on 11-09-09. I am on the rig Ocean America & we are located in block Viosca Knolls 917. For those of you not familiar with that location, it is South-East of Venice, LA., or approximately 90 miles due South of Mobile Bay, Alabama . We are pretty far out & the water depth is 4,378'. When I took these pics, it was apparent IDA was passing right over us as we were clocking sustained winds of 70 knots (80 mph) & had gusts of up to 78 knots (90 mph). We had steady 20-25' seas with the occasional 35'-40+ rolling through. We know this by counting the 1' markers on the rig structure at the water line as the waves passed through. These are the biggest seas I have seen in the Gulf of Mexico in my 22+ year career working out here. I thought you would all enjoy these. And trust me, these pics dont do those seas any justice! Those waves are HUGE!!!!
Well, that is my contribution for the day.  It's that bewitching hour of midnight and my coach is about to turn into a watermelon.  That wouldn't be so bad but I sure don't need mice in here posing as the coachmen.    I'm off to dreamland.  Hope to see all of you in the morning.
               gn
May the Lord watch over all of us, especially those that are in the path of Hurricane Ida, protect us and keep us safe from harm.

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First things first, hello to all and hope that you are well and safe tonight.

Computers are working and I was able to get in here, I have really missed everyone. I have been having fits with internet explorer, virus trojans, dealing with insurance companies for Mom, her social security,  it has been rough. Tomorrow (10th) would have been her 78th birthday,so I will be weepy all day.

It looks to be windy and rainy here, with that nasty little storm coming onshore tonight. Higher than normal tides already this week and now this. I hear sirens in the distance, hope who ever they that they are not hurt badly.
Well let me get off and not push the good luck I had getting in here.
hugs for all and stay safe and may our Lord watch over you and bless you
~Carla

Good evening everyone. The weekend was just beautiful. Saturday it got into the 70's. The sky was clear and the sun was shining. The downside was there was a strong wind. Sunday was equally as nice.
Even nicer since there was very little wind. Otherwise it was in the 70's and the sun was out. Sort of made up for a gloomy October.
Donna-I will keep your mother in prayer and trust the Lord will work in her situation.  I'm also gald your job interview went well. I'm praying you will get the job even if it is only part time.
At least it will be something.
Vicky-I know what you mean about the care2 groups. There are groups I belong to that haven't posted anything in over a year, some even longer. Sometimes I wonder if I should just delete my membership from these groups. Once in awhile I will look at the list of groups I belong to and notice that one is no longer there.
Wishing all a blessed goodnight.

Oh YES Jeanette, I LOVE your squirrel graphic but I should say 'our' cuz I have to snag it.  hahahaha!

Donna, I am praying you get the job....just show them all your wonderful qualities and the rest will take care of itself!

Karen, I'm glad you like my graphic...I didn't even realize she had blinking eyes.  LOL

Well, my neighbors are at it again....someone (like a coward in the middle of the night) tore down 2 more of mom's iron fence thingys.   They were way in the ground so I'm not sure how long it took them to get them loose or how they even did it.   Why are they picking on her and of course there's nothing we can do unless we catch the cowards in the act.        And her gas man that fills up her tank says how dangerous it is going over the deep rut that the jerk neighbor dug.   He's whole tank of propane could go up in flames should he hit too hard in the hole.   Pray that God will intervene somehow.   I have prayed so hard over the past few months.

Good Morning Everyone. . . .Michael,  Vicky, Karen, Carla, Pam, Linda, Donna, Florika and all who enter here today.  Isn't that a cute little squirrel playing peek-a-boo?  I know Vicky will love him.  We have squirrels all over our neighborhood and in our big live oak tree.  Since they re-moved the lower limbs to get them away from the roof top, the squirrels have to jump a good way now to get on top of the house.  We hear this loud "thud" everytime one cuts across to the back yard.  I didn't realize before just how ofte they used that avenue.  I enjoy sitting on the back porch and watching the stand off between them and the doggies.

Karen. . . .I did sleep very good last night.  It's wonderful what a clear mind without worries can do for you.  I'm glad you liked the song.  I don't know if you are old enough to remember it or not.  It was recorded many moons ago by Loretta Lynn and Glenn Campbell.  Each separately, of course, they didn't do duets.  I was thinking that Brenda Lee might have recorded that also but now sure.  Would have to look it up.

We have dark, very cloudy skies and an 80% chance of rain and we are under a flash flood watch through the day.  Just the kind of weather I love.  And the Lord has bestowed another blessing on our nation and especially those of us on the Gulf Coast.  Hurricane Ida is falling apart.  This morning she was downgraded to a tropical storm and continuing to weaken as she treks northward in the Gulf.  Another prayer answered for many of us down here.

May all of you have a most blessed day and experience the JOY of your Salvation above all else.

Good Morning! We woke up to frost on the ground and my daughter had to leave and go to town while it was still there. It looks like there's a sunny ski so it should burn off and the high today is supposd to be 47 degrees.

Vicky, I think your graphic is adorable. Especially with those blinking eyes!

Where is everyone else? I hope that you are all OK? God bless you this morning and keep you safe in His arms.

I just received a phone call from the McCook Gazette and they set up a job interview for me at 3:00 this afternoon. Please pray for me. My clothes are not fancy, but pray that they will not worry about that but will like my work! Thank you for all of your prayers! Donna

Good morning Karen, Michael, Jeanette, Donna, Florika and others who join us later.

I don't blame you Karen for waiting as long as possible to turn on your heater.   Utilities are outrageous as well as other stuff like food.

Jeanette, I'm glad your 'down time' gave you moments to reflect and I love the song you posted.

Michael, where are you this morning?  I hope you are okay.

Donna, sounds like your mom is trying very hard to maintain her abilities and that is good.   Keep a close on her though when she wants to cook.

I thought I'd peek in and check things out since I couldn't sleep. It's 1:30 in the morning and I'm wide awake. It's going to be a long day today. We are doing our monthly grocery shopping today in the early afternoon. But I'll be back in before I go, that's for sure.

Good Evening All. . . .Thanks, Karen, for that Proverb to keep ones spirits up.  This down time that I have had for the past week has really been a good thing for me.  While I was sitting around with all my ills and woes, it suddenly occurred to me that as children of God, He wants to be a wonderful Father and make us all happy.  He doesn't want us to be sad or always concentrating on the negative.  I must apologize for all of the parades I have rained on when others come bouncing in feeling so good and all I can do is respond with the negative side of my life.  I have really been a downer to many of you and I'm so sorry.  All we have to do is look around us and we can always find others worse off than we are.  So, I have begun to not only thank God for they many marvelous blessings He has given me, but I also thank Him for what I don't have.  I don't have MS. . . .I don't have HIV or AIDS. . . .I don't have kidney failure and need dialysis. . . .I might need new glasses, but I'm not blind. . . .I may walk with a walker, but I'm not bedridden, etc.  There are so many things we can be thankful that we don't have and find our joy in those things in addition to the things we do have.    Then I remembered an old song from a lifetime ago that goes like this:

A LITTLE LESS OF ME

Let me be a little kinder
Let me be a little blinder
To the faults of those about me
Let me praise a little more
Let me be when I am weary
Just a little bit more cheery
Think a little more of others
And a little less of me

Let me be a little braver
When temptation bids me waver
Let me strive a little harder
To be all that I should be

Let me be a little meeker
With the brother that is weaker
Let me think more of my neighbor
And a little less of me

Let me be when I am weary
Just a little bit more cheery
Let me serve a little better
Those that I am strivin' for

Let me be a little meeker
With the brother that is weaker
Think a little more of others
And a little less of me

With that, I am saying good night and may the Lord bless us all with a restful sleep and keep us safe in His loving care so that tomorrow we may all experience His love and His joy in our hearts and souls.

Good Morning Jeanette, Michael, Vicky, Florika, Donna and all who visit with us today. It's 36 degrees right now and it's supposed to warm up to 57 today. I hope it warms up soon or we'll have to turn our heater on, which we avoid until as late as possible.

Jeanette, I think it's important to have a positive outlook emotionally, to have good physical healing. There is so much to be said about that like the Proverb that says a merry heart does good like medicine. So I'm glad to hear that you are doing well and hope you continue to heal physically.

Donna I continue to pray for your situation and hope that your mom can focus on the Lord instead of this traumatic event. It's hard to, especially since she is trying her best, but this with pass, but the Lord is everlasting and He is our hope in which we should trust.

Florika I'm glad the snow melted and it's a little warmer. I hope you have a blessed time and your services and can enjoy what daylight you can get.

Vicky I'm glad to see you and am hoping that even though you are missing your other groups, you are blessed with the fellowship here. I know that doesn't make up for the fellowship you had in those other groups, but maybe you'll find some others. I had a few groups fail that I was in also. It was sad, and it let me wondering what happened to those people.

I hope everyone has a glorious Sunday and that you are showered with God's blessings today.

GOOD  MORNING  Everyone!

It's cloudy but still warm here and it's going to be a beautiful day no matter if it's rain or shine.  I woke up this morning with a good mental and emotional outlook and it sure feels good.  Now to get the physical in line with the rest of me.    I am so tired of "doom & gloom" all the time.  It's time to show some happiness and joy from the Lord.  Sometimes we just don't realize how easy it is to slip into chronic complaining.  Like seeing the glass half empty and fussing about it, or seeing the glass half full and being thankful for the blessing.  I guess all you ladies are making your guest list,  menu's and shopping lists for Thanksgiving Dinner. Teresa and I intend to give serious thought to what our plans might include sometime today.  We are both so limited on what we are able to do anymore.  One thing we know for sure that even if we have to serve hot dogs, the day will be a blessing.

Looks liked the Lord is going to bless the Gulf Coast with a lot more rain.  Hurricane Ida is coming into the Gulf and expected to strengthen but then to lose some of her strength as she moves further north into the cooler waters.  Right now they are saying she could make landfall anywhere from the eastern tip of Louisiana all the way over to Florida.  As long as she stays on the east side of us, we will sit it out and ride the storm.  A more direct hit or making landfall on the west side of us and we will evacuate to the north.  Maybe, with a lot of prayer, the Lord will have mercy on us and the storm will diminish down to a tropical storm or depression again.

May heavens blessings be yours on this Lord's Day!

There are good days and bad days, she still reads, and does embroidery and bakes, she still cooks but sometimes I have to take over for her. She can still balance her checkbook, but forgets sometimes what checks she has written out. She's still doing pretty good, actually, but one morning she asked me the same question ten times.  She's a very independent woman and this is hard on her.

Good morning Donna, Florika, Michael, Jeanette, Karen and others.   Today has dawned beautiful again.

Donna, I am so sorry your poor mom is going through all of this.  You are right...there is very little compassion anymore for the elderly.    Is your mom on meds for the beginning of her Alzheimers?   I will keep her in prayer.    Try to keep her mind active like with reading, puzzles and anything that will cause her to think and concentrate.   I think when they don't use their brain much it speeds up the Alzheimers.   My aunt has the beginning of it too but she will not read, or do the things that I think would help her...not even put on her patches.  Blessings to you and your mom.

Michael I hope you are feeling good today; you, too, Jeanette, Florika and Karen.

TODAY IS THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE PERSECUTED CHRISTIAN!
I won't know until the court hearing what is going to happen. We don't have the money for a lawyer, but I am praying daily. My mom has always been very responsible but in this situation there was nothing we could do. My mom is also suffering in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's disease and may have forgotten a payment or two. This is just breaking my heart that she has to go through this. At my age a small claims court hearing is not such a big deal but for her it might be. I believe that she has a long time ahead of her but it's so hard to see her lose her health. And people around are so mean. People just don't have the compassion that they use to have.  In the bible it says that we should take care of our elderly parents and that is what I intend to do, for as long as I possibly can. I appreciate your kindness, that does help! Donna

GOOD  MORNING  Michael, Vicky, Karen, Florika, Linda, Pam, Donna, and all others who enter here today. Not meaning to sound like a broken record, we are having yet another beautiful, warm, cloudless, sunny day.  I'm really enjoying it too.  Winter will come to soon and last too long as it is.  I'm about the same as yesterday, my low grade fever has returned and I still have lots and lots of room for improvement but I thank the good Lord that I'm better than what I was and not worse.  I will be spending the day in my recliner again and drifting in and out of sleep.  I guess those antibiotics are draining me of all my energy.  I stay tired so much.

May the Lord bless each member and visitor here and keep us all safe in His loving care through the day.

Good evening everyone.    Karen, I'm glad you didn't make your daughter anything until you found out her likes in clothing.    I know what you mean about Walmart and all the pushy people.   Even during the year I refuse to go there on weekends unless it is an emergency.   I am sort of claustophobic and with all the jostling and pushing it drives me crazy!   GRRRRR!    What I want to know is where do all those people get all their money?   Non-stop Wally World.   I spend as less as possible.   People think they are getting a deal there but if they only knew.

Michael, I pray that your winter won't be too long or that you won't suffer so much.    Jeanette, I'm glad you're feeling better.

Donna, I hope you are doing okay and that things will start looking up for you and your mom.

Linda, some days/nights are better on Care2 than others.  I guess I am just getting away from it.   Several groups I've hosted or been a member of for several years are closing.  It's very sad.

Wow! What a day we had at Walmart and the fabric store. There were so many people out rushing and pushing. I couldn't wait to come home from all the people. I forgot that it gets so crazy in the stores this time of year. And we went in the morning-early afternoon hours! But... even with all that, I have to say it was good to get out. I had to laugh at a the rushing people and they had such serious looks on their faces. I like to slow down and emjoy my shopping. I guess that bothered a lot of people. We got a blessing at the yardage shop. The salesperson helped us save about $11.00 with coupons we didn't know existed. That was so nice to save a little money!

I hope you all have a nice Friday night and sleep well tonight!

Hello Linda! How nice you're getting such warm days. Today was dark and dreary outside, so I just turned my back to the window and decided to try to make the most of it.

I just found that my daughter, who is coming to visit at Christmas, doesn't wear the kind of clothing I was planning on making for her. It's a good thing I didn't but the material. Of course, clothes are a very indivdual thing, so I don't usually try to sew them without talking to the person. Anyway, I will do something different for their visit. Like babysit the granddaughter.

I hope everyone has a good night and that you all sleep well and stay warm. God bless you!

Good evening everyone. I can't believe we are into November already either. This year is going by fast. October was more or less a rainy month. So far November has been clear but cold. Also windy at times. Saturday it's supposed to get up to 70 degrees.

Karen it's nice your daughter and her family is coming to visit you. It's always nice when family visits or you can go visit them.

Donna, I think it's just awful they would take your mother to court because she got behind on her bills. Used to be you could pay a little on on bill each month but I guess times have changed. Hopefully, you will be able to find a job soon so you can at least help her out some.

Vicky, I sympathy with your problems with the internet and Care2. The library I usually go to when I need to use a computer is currently at a temporary site. There is only about 6 computers and they have to be at least 10 years old or older. The internet on them is soooooooooooooooooooo slow it takes forever to get from one site to another. After the first of the year,I hope to be able to afford my own computer or laptop.

Wishing all a blessed good night

Vicky, I'll be glad to send you ALL of our rain today. We get so much that it usually ends up with moss growing on our roofs.

As for bill collectors, the partial payment didn't work for a friend of mine. They still garnished her wages and refused to accept the smaller payment. They said it had to be an extremely large sum (which she couldn't afford) or all of it. With the economy the way it is, I think it's hard to get them to wait... even when you don't have it. This is a sticky mess for people who are on fixed incomes and need to survive on it.

Jeanette I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better. I was worried about you and hope you are taking it easy right now, even if you do feel better.

Good morning/Good afternoon everybody!   Hopefully today Care2 will cooperate better.   Michael, yes I do run spyware but most of the time the trouble is with Care2.

Jeanette, I'm glad you are on the mend....today is absolutely beautiful.

Karen, if you get too much rain then be sure to send some towards me.   I always enjoy a day or two of it.

Florika, snow?   Wow, it seem strange to me since we are having 70 degree weather where I live.

Donna, that is terrible that your mom is being harrassed by bill collectors.   If she can afford to send them $5-10.00 month it may stave them off.   At least it used to work that way.   If the company didn't want to accept it and put it in writing that they wouldn't then you had a leg to stand on if you didn't pay them at all.   I'm sure things are far different now.   No one seems to have respect for the elderly or compassion for those that are suffering through hardships.   I will pray for your mom and you, too.

Good Morning everyone! We are supposed to get rain today, which is not good for my daughter since she has to go out in it and get wet. I just pray that it holds off until she gets done and is safe home.

Florika, you are getting snow already? I am sure that will get cold really fast. Stay warm, OK?

Jeanette, where are you? Is your computer giving you trouble this morning? I'm praying that you are feeling better this morning.

Michael, Are you getting snow yet? I know you said you were getting freezing weather, so if it rains you'll get somekind of nasty weather.

I hope everyone has a warm, happy day regardless of your situation and that the Lord blesses you with answered prayer today.

So many problems today, it seems. I know God will take care of each one. We need to listen to each other and pray for each other and try to support each other. I'm glad so many of you can come here and share with me. I will pray for you and I know you'll continue to pray for me. Donna, Jeanette, Florika, Vicky, Michael and anyone else who is having problems, may the Lord bless you and keep you in his watchful eye as you go about the evening and through the night.

Please pray for my Mom. She is trying so hard to make it and now she is being taken to court because she couldn't keep up on her payments on one of her bills. Our city attorney is a real scrooge taking an 80 year old lady to court like that. I know it will be hard on her. That is what frustrates me about the fact that I can not find a job! Good evening everyone.

Jeanette I hope you get to fealing better. I know its bad when we don't feel well. Our weather has been cool to me for sure. I am tankful to have a wood burner and able to use it helps me so much.

Karen, you know I feel closer to God when I am in tears I suppose we all do its like being renewed and cleansed in the Spirit. When reading his word its like at times we feel humble and it rewarding to me. Thank God for tears, I heard a man say once that he complained to God for crying so much. Then God took his tears away for years he said. When he got them back he was thankful for being humble again.

Vicky, I am sorry you are having so much trouble. I know I run a spy checker every few day and dick clean up to keep me going good.

Florika, thanks for dropping by the cooler weather is her to me the wind is vary cool to me I cant take it like I use to tho.

Good Morning to All who come to visit! The weather is cold but we have sunny skies today. I'm grateful for that and hope the weather holds through the end of the week. That's because we need to go out the next two days and I prefer not tromping around in the rain.

Jeanette I hope you stay under those covers so you can fight off this bug. Please don't think you need to get up and do things, they can wait. I'm praying for you, sister!

Michael, what a beautiful word this morning. It's so good to know that the Lord counts our tears as well as our smiles. That poem at the end was great--I'm going to write it down.

I hope everyone has a great day and no matter what you are going through, God is right there beside you holding your hand. Or, when you can't go on, he'll carry you so you can rest. May the Lord bless you today!

Michael. . . .love you message for the day.  Thank you for sharing that with us.  Isn't this a little early in the year yet for you to be getting freezing temperatures?  I think more of the freezing weather in December, not November.

I spent most of my day yesterday under my cover and may do the same today.  I'm still running a slight fever and feel so yukky.  Not like being up and about anyway.

May all of you have a most blessed day and remain safe in the nearness of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Good morning everyong God bless your day. November 04, 2009 2:15 AM

"Behold, he prayeth."-Acts 9:11

Prayers are instantly noticed in heaven. The moment Saul began to pray the Lord heard him. Here is comfort for the distressed but praying soul. Oftentimes a poor broken-hearted one bends his knee, but can only utter his wailing in the language of sighs and tears; yet that groan has made all the harps of heaven thrill with music; that tear has been caught by God and treasured in the lachrymatory of heaven. "Thou puttest my tears into thy bottle," implies that they are caught as they flow. The suppliant, whose fears prevent his words, will be well understood by the Most High. He may only look up with misty eye; but "prayer is the falling of a tear." Tears are the diamonds of heaven; sighs are a part of the music of Jehovah's court, and are numbered with "the sublimest strains that reach the majesty on high." Think not that your prayer, however weak or trembling, will be unregarded. Jacob's ladder is lofty, but our prayers shall lean upon the Angel of the covenant and so climb !
its starry rounds. Our God not only hears prayer but also loves to hear it. "He forgetteth not the cry of the humble." True, He regards not high looks and lofty words; He cares not for the pomp and pageantry of kings; He listens not to the swell of martial music; He regards not the triumph and pride of man; but wherever there is a heart big with sorrow, or a lip quivering with agony, or a deep groan, or a penitential sigh, the heart of Jehovah is open; He marks it down in the registry of His memory; He puts our prayers, like rose leaves, between the pages of His book of remembrance, and when the volume is opened at last, there shall be a precious fragrance springing up therefrom.

"Faith asks no signal from the skies,
To show that prayers accepted rise,
Our Priest is in His holy place,
And answers from the throne of grace."

Vicky, I'm sorry to hear your news. It seems many people are feeling more frustration with internet problems as the sites get bigger and more populated. I don't think it's just Care2, however. All the big sites have glitches I've discovered.

Michael, my feet are affected by the cold weather so I know what you mean. The only alternative for me would be to move to Southern California, but I don't choose to live in that overpopulated jungle. I just thank the Lord my apartment stays nice and warm so I'm mostly OK except when I go out.

I hope everyone has a good night and I'll see you tomorrow!

I'm sorry you go through such pain during cold weather, Michael.  I pray it won't be as bad this year.

I just want to let everyone know that I may not be around much anymore.   I tried 3 times to change the calendar in one of my groups and again Care2 is messed up and it won't let me change it.   This site is not worth me getting my blood pressure up.    So, if you don't see me that is why.

Good afternoon everybody.  Yes Karen I think I had trouble with Photobucket last night.    It's terrible to pay such a high monthly bill for internet service and have things either run super slow, have miscellaneous errors or you can't get into certain sites.    Well today was beautiful (thank you, Jesus).   I like your graphic Jeanette...how are you doing Michael and Florika?   I hope each of you has a wonderful evening.

Hello Everyone! We just got back from grocery shopping and I am glad to be home out of the rush. I can sure tell the holidays are coming. Between all the stuff that's being put out and all the shoppers, it's a madhouse, even at 10am. I think I'll hide my head until January.

Did anyone else have trouble with photobucket this morning? I couldn't get in there. Maybe I'll try again later.

I hope you all have a great day full of God's goodness and grace.

It's a beautiful day with warm sunshine, no clouds, and a high expected of 76 today.  This is my idea of perfect weather.  I could live in this temperature range year around and love it.

I'm so thankful to feel a little better than when I went to bed last night.  I thank any and all of you that offered prayers in my behalf.  I did sleep well, I guess my body really needed the rest.

May the Lord bless each of us here today and keep us all safe from harm.

Tempted in All Points

Hebrews 4:1-16 This passage in Hebrews speaks of Jesus as our High Priest who was tempted in all points even as we are tempted. He, however, never sinned. Jesus called himself the Son of man often because He was flesh, blood and bone just as we are. God tented Himself in flesh so He could experience all we experience except sin. As a man, Jesus was subject to temptation just as we all are. Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. One thing we often forget is that God sometimes allows the devil to tempt us. God gave permission to the devil to tempt Job. God, however, is not the tempter, as James clearly teaches: "Let no one say when he is tempted, 'I am tempted by God'; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed" (James 1:13-14).

The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. God knew Jesus would overcome, and He did just that.

Thanks Karen for the prayer request for me.  I'm so afraid it's a lung infection that is causing my fever.  My cough is worse and I hurt so bad across my upper back.  I have been having chills this afternoon also.  I found 3 left over Bactrim from the last time I had a flare up so I took one of those.  I'll take the other two in the morning and at bedtime tomorrow night.  Hopefully that will help from getting any worse.

Our little "mini" spring season we are having has really confused nature.  My neighbor's tulip tree is blooming behind me, and the neighbor to the side has blooms all over her jasmin.  My sweet olive tree is in full bloom.  Hope this doesn't ruin them from blooming again next spring.

Well, I'm off to the land of horizontal Z makers.  Hope to see all of you tomorrow.  May the Lord bless us all with a restful peace and keep us safe in His loving care.

Good Morning All! Our nice sunshine from yesterday melted last night into a drizzle. Unfortunately, Heather had to go out this morning to take care of business. She'll have to wring herslef out and get under a warm blanket when she gets back.

Florika and Jeanette, I really like your fall graphics! This is such a beautiful time of year. Our trees are turning colors and the leaves are making piles on the ground.

I hope everyone has a happy Monday morning!

Jeanette, it's only 8:15 here and I still have things cooking on the stove, so I'll be up for a while still.

Michael, I plan on thoroughly loving my granddaughter while she's here, but not spoiling her. She already challenges everything and she's not two yet.

Good Morning Michael, Jeanette, Florika and all who will be coming in later. I can't believe it's already November either! It seems like time is just fying by. I'm not sure what happened to this whole year.

I received some good news last night: my daughter and son-in-law & granddaughter will be coming down in December (from Alaska) and will be staying for 2 whole weeks! I'm so glad it won't be just a whirlwind visit where we hardly get a chance to visit. This time, maybe we'll get so talking time. I've been praying for this for a long time.

I hope everyone has a good day and may the Lord bless you.

Good Morning my brother and thank you so very much for starting this new thread for me.  I am running behind this month but I think I can get all caught up today.  My mind has been pre-occupied with my nephew but I feel rested a little more today and life is for the living so I will try to get myself back on track.

It's so hard to believe that we are in November already. It is in the mid 50's this morning and sunny with blue sky.  There is not the slightest hint of a breeze, not a leaf on a tree moving, it is so still it is eerie.  The only thing moving is the earth on its axis.

May this Lord's Day bring blessings and a thankful heart to all of us.
