Yep, it's one of those kind of days here.  According to the weather map, Louisiana is sending tropical moisture all the way up to the Canadian border, making for lots of rain in the mid-section of the country.  What a way to start off the first day of the college football season.  Hope the pros have it better tomorrow.  At least it's not wet and cold. That is a blessing to be thankful for.

.

Hope that all of you have an enjoyable holiday weekend in spite of what the weather brings you.  May the Lord be our guide in all that we do and keep us safe from harm.

Hi,Linda. See you pop in is a nice treat. You are a blessing.Michael,I very much enjoy what you posted today,as you have no idea what perfect timing is this for my family right now.Kaya especially, she thinks that there is a curse on her because of her child hood rejections and abuse, which was exremely severe, and because of her bipolar disorder.I disagree, especially seeing the differences in her,and the people she is reaching.Holly, that artwork is impressive,I would have loved to see the method in which it was created.Jeanette,I am so happy to see you,and I want you to know how helpful your contributions is for me.I do not always post, but I read what every one writes.Also.Jeanette,I overstand that there are some, like Kaya, who really want comfort when they are incapacitated, while others.like myself, want solitude. What ever your needs are.,Ivvone is correct, come to usWe do love you,and we are here for you.Have no reservations to ask,I promise we not think you are begging, and we will do absolutely any thing you ask if we capable,ok.This goes for any one here.I hope that you enjoyed your concert last night,Holly, and I hope that everyone here can relax for the weekend.

Good Morning Everyone.  Please excuse my absence yesterday, I was hurting so bad I could not make myself come to group.  Today is somewhat better, so far.

.

Linda. . . . .so glad that you were able to come by again.  It looks like you might be getting some more thunderstorms over this long holiday weekend, hopefully they will be short lived.

.

JJ. . . . .Hoping that your chaotic beginning slowed down for a beautiful and easy going afternoon.  The weekend is upon us so that should give you a change of pace and a little time to catch up with yourself and get some rest.

.

Michael. . . . .That was a wonderful article on Paul's thorn in the flesh.  Glad that you went back and posted the missing part to finish it.  We all have our own individual thorns and we pray for each other to be healed from them, but sometimes God just intends for us to carry those thorns with us through life.  They are constant reminders that He is always in control and that we are dependent upon Him in every way.  I also enjoyed your devotional this morning on shaking hands or saving lives.  There is a very strong message in that brief writing.  It's amazing how children see things differently so differently from us.  We can learn a lot from them if we just listen.

.

Holly. . . . .Loved your graphics this morning, it fits the topic of Michael's message.  Did you get to attend the concert last evening?  Hope you and Williams have a great time together for this long Labor Day weekend.

.

May the Lord comfort each of us and keep us all safe from harm.

That`s why I have given you a thorn. I want you humble, as I was humble while on earth. I am your strength, He continues. Just as Apostle Paul says: That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Rejoice!

It is the very thing itself, the thorn in our flesh, the affliction that keeps us in line with God’s Character, be humble, and see the Cross of Christ in our eyes continually. We know we are not our own, but belong to Christ only. If we did not have the thorn in our flesh, we would not have need to seek the Lord continually more and more and rely only on Him in everything. The thorn is the sign that Christ has sent us and that He is with us and walking with us. It is a sign that we are called. He has chosen us for His purposes. We must stand straight in the Lord and keep the Sword, the Word, as our guard against the arrows of unbelief. If Christ is with us, who or what thing can be against us?

Have you ever felt a thorn in your flesh, as Apostle Paul, did?

The thorn was part of his life after God called him to ministry.

What was he talking about?

Thorn in the flesh hurts. That is the fact.

Paul had a thorn in his flesh. And, he prayed three times the Lord to take it away. There are so many interpretations on what Paul was talking about; whether it was about fleshly temptation, stubborn opponents or a chronic malady, etc. His torn in the flesh was real and it really hurt; it was a prick in the flesh, and we need to think what could hurt so much that Apostle Paul prayed three times God to remove it. It could not have been a fleshly temptation, since Apostle Paul was filled with the Holy Spirit and had the power to resist fleshy temptations. As, the Bible states, anyone who is born of God, does not keep on sinning, since the Seed of God is living in one. The Bible states, that it is impossible for a person born of God to continue to sin. And, Paul followed Christ whole heartedly, since God the Father was pleased to reveal His Son in Paul. If Christ was revealed in Paul, then, Paul was not sinning against God. That is the fact.

No one really knows exactly what Apostle Paul’s thorn in the flesh was, there are however some indications in the Bible of what it was. I believe everyone that has been called to ministry has one, has a thorn, and I know exactly what mine is, and there is no doubt about it. And, it hurts. Every day it pricks my flesh. How many countless times have I prayed to the Lord to remove it, but I just hear the words: My mercy is enough. I have learnt to accept it as part of my life. And, yet, it still hurts.

The thorn can come through our own physical pain, maybe through illness and long term suffering, or extremely difficult life circumstances. However, I do not think this to be the case when Apostle Paul talks about his thorn and prays to God to remove it. He knew that only God could relieve him from the pain, and the pain of physical illness can be relieved at least by some degree by medications, healthy life style etc.
If it was not an incurable painful illness, it could have been, not saying that, however, let’s think here, what could have been Apostle Paul’s thorn, then, if it was not a painful illness?

The biggest thorn that I can think of is unbelief from people around you that you love the most, your loved ones, closest family members, closest friends or other disciples, your sisters and brothers in Christ who confess Christ and yet do not believe you are a Christian and called for ministry by God Himself. They ridicule you and mock you, and look down on you, and you feel so alone and weak, and yet you have so much comfort and strength from your own Father, Jesus Christ, who has sent you. Ever had a thorn like that? That kind of thorn hurts like crazy. If it was people from the world that did not believe in Christ that were insulting you and did not believe in you, that would be easy to endure, but it is the ones you love the most, the ones closest to you, the ones who confess Christ...That hurts like a thorn in the flesh and every day. And, you pray to the Lord, seeking His beautiful face in anguish, please relieve me of this thorn that I have. And, He keeps quiet or He says: My mercy is enough.

Christ Himself came to His own chosen people and they rejected Him. The very thing must have been a huge thorn, pain, in His flesh, yet He was without sin. He knows what it is to be rejected. He was rejected by His own people and even by His own brothers, those He grew up with and yet did not believe Him, when He started His ministry. Apostle Paul was rejected by Christ’s disciples when he started his ministry. And, then look at David in Psalm 55. He is crying out to the Lord when His God believing friend insults him and does not believe in David.

Apostle Paul knew that this thorn could only be removed by God himself. So, this was not a natural thorn. It was given to Paul specifically on a purpose. I don’t think, Apostle Paul prayed that prayer just for himself, but for all the believers who were to come after him. We, who are called by God to ministry, will have a thorn in our flesh, something that we wish through our hearts that was not there, and yet, it is the very thing, the thorn in our flesh, that keep us completely humble, and in total submission to the Lord, trusting only Him.

Thorn in the flesh is very painful. Have you ever gotten a thorn from a rose bush? And, what is a very interesting thing is that a thorn can come from a stem of such a beautiful flower as a rose. A thorn does not necessarily come from an ugly thing... Thorns can come from a beautiful flower such as a rose, yet, it has thorns that hurt like crazy when they prick our flesh. And, there is no escape, but the Lord and His Wings when the thorn goes through the flesh.

The Lord says: I can remove the thorn when I see it is appropriate, but now I allow it, since it is the very thing that draws you closer to Me and rely completely only on Me and nothing that is seen. I have called you. I am making you a strong soldier to fight against the evil powers in the heavenly realms through My Power and My Word living in you. Let the thorn hurt you, but in Me, you will not feel the pain as much as long as you abide complete in Me. My Power will keep you. My Glory is shown best through weakness, complete non reliance in flesh, and thus, complete reliance on Me. I have shown you great things, but you are not allowed to boast of them. That`s why I have given you a thorn. I want you humble, as I was humble while on earth. I am your strength, He continues. Good afternoon everyone. Sorry I haven't been around lately. Just got off work and had just enough time to stop at the library before going to our weekly prayer meeting at my church. It's been hot and muggy the past few days. Plus had a few thunderstorms passing through.
Michael-sorry about your computer troubles. Glad you were able to get it fixed. Sorry about the pain you are having. Hopefully the shots will help. Happy belated birthday!
Holly-your daughter Jasmine is beautiful. And Jibral is such a cute boy. Loved the pic of the multi colored bird. Such beautiful colors. Is it a bird of paradise?
Have to go now, but hopefully can visit again before the month ends.

Another hot and sunny day with an 80% chance of afternoon and/or evening thunderstorms from the daytime heating.  I'm preparing for an afternoon nap with the first sound of thunder.

.

Michael. . . . .So glad that you are feeling any amount of improvement at all, just the slightest bit is a blessing.  I was so in hopes, as you were, that it would ease the pain in your leg completely.  I will keep praying for that result to come about.  I understand fully how you feel regarding your back.  Teresa has a herniated disc in her lower lumbar, (no. 4 and no.5) and they said that if they operate, there is a 50% chance she may not walk again.  She is learning to live with the pain with the help pain killers every now and then when it really gets unbearable.  Walking in pain is a bigger blessing than no pain and not walking.  Like Paul with the thorn in his flesh, sometimes we just have to accept what God has given us and learn to be content with it.  Speaking of Teresa, today is her birthday. . . . .well, it will be at 10:31pm tonight.  I've tried to tell her that she got here too late to have a birthday, she missed it.  LOL.  It's hard to beleive that she is 51 today.

.

Holly. . . . .I have watched two of the 4 videos so far, will view the other two after lunch when everybody takes a break from the TV.  It's so wonderful to know that there are still some people in this world with compassion in their hearts that have time to give for those less fortunate.  I look forward to the other 2.

.

May the Lord guide us in all our ways and keep us safe in His merciful and loving care.

Good morning.Hugs to all, praises to Almighty.

Jeanette the nerve block has helped some. Dr said she would do it again in a month. I am still having some burning going down the side of my leg. She said they were other options. I don't wont surgery unless they are no other option. I don't like the idea of working on my back. It feels like fall weather this morning its cool.

Gabra we pray the Lord send healing. I have some myself. Its like fall weather its cool this morning. I have been having some congestion my self.

God bless everyone.

Gabra. . . . .So sorry to hear that you are having lung issues. That is the center of my condition and that causes me so much trouble.  I have an accute shortness of breath and it causes the heart to work harder to compensate for the lack of oxygen it is picking up from the lungs to carry to the rest of my body.  I will be praying for you that this will be healed and not a steady condition like mine.

.

About your scripture verse, Hebrews 4:15, you are exactly 100% correct.  Jesus came into this world born in the flesh and blood just as we are.  The difference is that He was and is and will always be the Son of God.  Therefore He was capable of resisting the Devil and SIN.  This He did in obedience to His Father so that He could be the spotless and perfect Lamb to sacrifice for our Sin upon that cross.

Nice pics.Where is everyone? Sorry I was away. I had some lung issue, not getting into all of it now.It is controlled for now..IS EVERYONE OK? Jeanette,or anybody, the Bible verse I put in the other thread "TODAY'S SCRIPTURE",I wondering.....is it mean that it refers to Jesus?HE comprehends what we feel and go htrough, because HE was human too,but HE did not do a wrong thing to deal with it,(sin),like we do sometimes. This is what I get from it.How accurate is it?It means this? Sending love to all.

Blue sky, sunshine and hot forcast for today.  Yesterday ended with a severe thunderstorm, intense lightening, thunder louder than a cannon, and winds gusting up to 60 mph.  It lasted about 90 minutes and there were areas around town that lost power.  Ours went down only momentarily but came right back up.  The Lord was looking out for us with our oxygen supply.  Praise Him from Whom all blessings flow.

Michael. . . . .Please let us know if the nerve block works at all.  We are all curious and interested for future possible remedies we might need.  If you are unable to tell any difference at all, there isn't much use to have it done again. I pray it gives you some relief from all of your back pain. Hope the rest of you day was memorable in the best ways possible.

.

Holly. . . . .It's good that the Lord provided extra income for both you and William today.  He must see a future need for it that hasn't come into your view yet.  You will both be tired and ready to relax at dinner together and enjoy each other's company for the rest of the evening.  You made my mouth water talking about going to get peaches.  My immediate thought was my mother's fresh peach cobbler and sometimes when we had extra peaches, daddy would get out the ice cream freezer and crank the best peach ice cream ever.  That was a rare and wonderful treat.  If only I were able to get back into the kitchen and cook like I used to.  I think I would cook from sunup to sundown if my body would permit.

.

Kaya. . . . .Speaking of a "drop in the ocean", the weather channel is showing an area of disturbed weather either in your neighborhood or headed your way.  I hope you get what is needed from it but not in excess to cause grief or hardship on anyone.  It's true that a single drop can cause many ripples, just as one person going against the grain can cause much dissension in any group.  The moral of that lesson is to stay out of the ocean and always sing in harmony.  LOL.

.

May the Lord keep us all safe from harm and provide for the needs of His children.

Good morning everyone.

Good Morning Everyone on this beautiful Friday.  Our 80% chance of thunderstorms yesterday was exactly what we got.  The thunder was so loud that some of the boomers even shook the house, we could hear the wall hangings rattling as well as the windows.  Did it ever rain????NO!!!!!!! It was truly just a thunderstorm for us.  Nearby got a terrible storm.  It lasted over an hour but it never came here.  Just close enough to knock on the back door and finally leave.  As my grandpa would have said, "heap big noise. . .no action."

.

Holly, those are some pretty roses.  I do not prefer the odd colors though, they can keep the blue and green ones.  The multicolored ones are keepers for sure.  Wonder how they make then that way.  I cannot imagine them growing those colors like that.  So you do not like C & W music??? We have finally stumbled on something that we differ about. We are country nuts.  I even played the guitar in a country band on the radio when I was in high school.  LOL.  Country music today is not the same as it was back then.  I will have to admit that I am not as fond of todays style.  I am also not fond of todays style of rock music either, or even the gospel music.  I much prefer the old hymns.  The words seem to stir the soul a good bit deeper than modern Christian music does today.  Hopefully next week they will have a group to your liking and you can enjoy a night out together.

.

Rahab. . . . .You are blessed to be able to enjoy the roses, I'm allergic to them.  But I do enjoy their beauty from a distance.  They send me into a sneezing frenzie.  The pollen from the Oak trees does the same to me.  But I praise the Lord that I can enjoy other flowers that are equally as gorgeous and many times overlooked in the field of beauty.

It's kind of like the mutt from the dog pound that is more loyal and loving than a pure-bred that cost a fortune and is too spoiled and pampered to show its affection to the fullest.  All are lovely in their own way.

.

May the Lord guide us in all our thoughts, words and deeds and continue to keep us safe from harm.

Hi,every one, good morning.Holly,I love those roses. When David was alive,he would always bring me flowers.I would hug him and he would say,"no,no,no.gift from Jah.Tank Him.",but I could tell he loved it.He would pick them or buy them.Michael,I hope that you had a wonderful birthday, because you deserve it,and that your dr. visit was successful .Love you so very much,my friends,Holly, micheal, jeanette, carol, and everyone.

This should be a funfilled day of loving celebration of life for you, Michael, but instead you are having physical procedure done.  We can only hope and pray that the results will be the best birthday present ever, to have the pain relieved in your back, hip and legs.  Prayers have been said for you and will continue for the results you seek.

.

Rahab. . . . .That 6 layer cake would last a very long time at our house.  A very thin slice would be most filling.  Cake is my #1 food weakness, I could eat cake every day and never tire of it.  However, I'll pass on the purple, blue and green. I might get to looking a bit "smurfy".  Just give me plain old yellow, orange, lemon, classic white or chocolate and I'm in hog heaven.

.

Holly. . . . .If memory serves me correctly, there is another concert in the park for you to attend tonight.  Are you and William planning to go?  I know how much you enjoy the music and spending time out with your sweetheart.  Hope that the weather is good for you.  We have an 80% chance of rain and thunderstorms today but at present it's blue sky and sunshine.  Never know what the daytime heating will bring.

.

May the Lord lead us in all our ways and keep us safe from all harm.

Gabra. . . . .Thank you for sharing your former beliefs and teachings with us.  If I gave incorrect information, it was gotten from the Wikipedia online.  I have also just looked up the African Orthodox Church and this is what I found in the Wikipedia.

.

"The Orthodox Church is evangelical, but not protestant.  It is orthodox, but not Jewish.  It is catholic, but not Roman.  It isn't non-denominational - it is pre-denominational.  It has believed, taught, preserved, defended and died for the Faith of the Apostles since the Day of Pentecost 2,000 years ago."

    Steven Robinson

The African Orthodox Church was organized in America in 1921 by +Archbishop George Alexander McGuire.    In 1934 +Archbishop Daniel William Alexander organized the African Orthodox Church through out East Africa and established a Seminary in Kenya where over 10,000 persons were affected by the African Orthodox Church of Africa.

.

I do not understand how an organization less than 100 years old (1921 to 2014) can claim to teach, preserve, defend, and die for the Faith of the Apostles since the Day of Pentecost over 2,000 years ago.  They claim to be "pre-denominational" yet they carry a denominational label like any other man-organized religion.

.

Whatever they are, I will stay with my Bible teachings.  If my Bible doesn't say it, I do not believe it.  If God says it, then it's the truth.  Any other form of Christianity or Churchianity is not for me.

Jeanette,Marcus Garvey never proclaimed himself a prophet. He is not a false prophet because people in false religions named him one. While it is true that nation of islam and rastafari are false religions,Marcus Garvey was a devout Christian. He was a part of the African Orthodox Christian church. His main focus was the unification and liberation of all Africans, wherever in the world they are.His was not a religious movement.Religions later on grafted his teachings into their religion, which is why I shy away from man-made religions. He is a hero because he wanted to liberate his people from slavery, which he himself was born into.It may suprise you,but Haile Salassie was also a devout Christian, and told people outright that he was not divinity, and he was not Yeshua reincarnated. But people started this movement anyway.(I am just learning about Christianity, but I know much about the rasta movement, since I was raised Rastafarian.)I thank you and others who helped me find the truth.

It's Such a Pretty World Today, look at the sunshine, look at the sunshine. . . . .Anybody else remember that song by Wynn Stewart?  It used to be one of my favorites and I find it most fitting for this Monday morning.

.

Michael. . . . .That wasn't too, too bad for repairing a PC, but you shouldn't have had to be out that expense at all.  It should have been in working condition when you bought it. Anyway, so happy that you are now back in business and coming in to visit with us again.   I guess all that rain has made it difficult to keep up with the grass.  Autumn is just around the corner so it should start slowing down it's growth soon.  Hope that your green bean harvest is as plentiful as in past years.  Everything is so expensive in the grocerys now that it's hard to fill a table at meal time anymore.  We are getting back to one pot dishes instead of the variety of veggies that we all love.  The prices go up but our SS checks don't.  At least not enough to keep up with the cost of food.

.

Rahab. . . . .I truly love your definition of Success.  Going to sleep with peace in one's soul is more valuable than gold. Thanks for sharing that with us.

.

Holly. . . . .You post two extreme opposits this morning.  Yes, it is the MOST important thing for us to know that Jesus Christ has cleansed us from all of our sin, but as long as the Devil still exist in this world, I don't feel liberated from the evil.  It is still there for me to stumble over.  I need to know what, in your opinion, constitutes a "hero".  From my limited knowledge of Marcus Mosiah Garvey, he was a founder of Universal Negro Improvement Association for African Redemption and other organizatins.  It was this UNIA that promoted Garvey, and Garveyism eventually inspired others, ranging from the Nation of Islam to the Rastafari movement.  The Nation of Islam and the Rastafari movement proclaimed Garvey to be a prophet. We now know, that neither the Religion of Islam or Rastafari fall under the teachings of Jesus Christ or of Jehovah God the Father, which makes them both false religions.  That would also make  Garvey a false prophet.  It is good to mark the historical place of a person of fame that accomplished so much in his lifetime as long as we do not fail to remember that all of his accomplishments work against God and His Only begotten Son who gave himself for us.  It will be a hard thing to ignore the annual acknowledgment of one so prominent in leading others astray as long as 97% of the population still follow one or both of these religions.  Now that you and I have made other members here aware of the current circumstances in Jamaica, lets hope that everyone will pray that God's Word will spread across the region like a wildfire and wipe out the Devil's deceitfulness.

.

May the Lord lead each of us in all our thoughts, words and deeds and use us as vessels to enlighten others of His glory and love for all of mankind.

Most iimportantly Yeshua, who liberated us from evil

Good Morning to Everyone on this beautiful Friday.  Maybe not so lovely for Carol, the weather map showed strong to severe storms over Nebraska.  By tomorrow Linda could be getting wet.

.

Michael. . . . .How awful to receive a PC and not be able to use it.  I would do the same thing and notify E-Bay as soon as possible.  They should take steps to have your money refunded to you.  Seems like you can't trust anybody these days.  Posting the remainder of the article was my pleasure, I wanted to read the rest of it for myself and it only took a couple of clicks to make the post.  No biggie!  I especially enjoyed your devotional this morning on the heart of flesh. Spurgeon is the best on explaining things.  How can you not learn from someone like him?

.

Holly. . . . .loved your story of the Starfish.  We should be so devoted to the spreading of God's Word to others around us.  If only 1 person out of a lifetime of witnessing comes to know the Lord, then our efforts were not in vain.  It will make a difference to that 1 person.  If we are busy sowing seeds for the Lord, maybe someone else will come along and water them and someone else to fertilize them and hopefully they will take root and grow.  But nothing is going to happen until we firse sow the seeds.  Thank you for sharing this story with all of us.  Love the bird graphic too. Only God can make something so beautiful.

.

Rahab. . . . .Sounds like the party was a huge success.  Wish I could have been there.  I could at least sit and hold the babies while all of you were trying to drown one another. LOL.  Cake is my #1 food weakness, not sure I would be content with a Lasagna substitute.  Actually, I've never eaten Lasagna so who knows, I may have loved it.  I'm glad Lorenzo got wet. . . . ."what's good for the goose is also good for the gander."

..

Kaya. . . . .I am not aware of anybody that is annoyed by you. You must have a guilty conscience about something. LOL.

Just keep your eyes on the Lord and you will be just fine.

.

May the Lord lead us in His ways and keep us safe from all harm.

The Starfish Story

A young man is walking along the ocean and
sees a beach on which thousands and thousands
of starfish have washed ashore. Further along
he sees an old man, walking slowly and
stooping often, picking up one starfish after
another and tossing each one gently into the
ocean.

“Why are you throwing starfish into the
ocean?,” he asks.

“Because the sun is up and the tide is going out
and if I don’t throw them further in they will
die.”

“But, old man, don’t you realize there are miles
and miles of beach and starfish all along it!
You can’t possibly save them all, you can’t even
save one-tenth of them. In fact, even if you
work all day, your efforts won’t make any
difference at all.”

The old man listened calmly and then bent
down to pick up another starfish and threw it
into the sea. “It made a difference to that one.”

Holly,I really like what you have written, and so true.Loved ones are a gift from Almighty. As such, the way we treat them should reflect the value.Michel,I am really sorry about your computer problems.I hope they are soon resolved.Jeanette,I did not feel as if you were scolding me.I was merely reflecting what I feel already, also in keeping with what Holly had written.Tragic losses do not fully heal until we reach Zion,Almighty's Kingdom.Until then, our journey there must continue. My mom's party went beautifully. No one here likes cake, but Lorenzo made lasagna, and since he is so fond of throwing people into the water,we,again, ganged up on him and tossed him in as well.Every one was in there by the end of the night any how.It was a nice time we will not soon forget. It was joked about you all coming, but that truly would heve been nice.I feel as you are my family too.I love you all, have a good week end coming.Hold one another close,in our heart, where they neer can be taken away.

Another summer re-run on the Gulf coast.  Hot, blue sky and plenty of sunshine.

.

Kaya. . . . .what beautiful music to my ears that God is working in you and taking away your dependency on herbs. There is nothing that He can't cure.  Just keep the faith and watch what wonderful things He has in store for you. Thanks for the invitation to Aunt Rose's surprise party. You would sure be surprised if we all showed up. LOL.  Sounds like a wonderful gathering for all of you though. Take lots of pictures to keep the memories for your grand-children and great and great-great's way down the road.

.

Rahab. . . . .Didn't mean it to sound like I was scolding you for not being here, just letting you know that we do miss you when you are not.  We all have so much that requires our priorities first but when time permits, we do enjoy your company.

.

Michael. . . . .So sorry that your PC gave you problems, and you just bought it.  Hope that all the kinks are worked out and running smoothly for you now.  I really appreciated reading "You need to read this" article that you posted this morning.  It was longer than Care2 allows on one posting though so I went back and posted the part that was cut off for you.  There is so much that the non-believers do not understand, but that is by their choice.  The Bible was not written for them, it was written for those that believe to nourish and feed themselves with for spiritual growth.  It is our responsibility to spread the word, to teach the gospel to all nations.  Once they become born again, then the Holy Spirit will teach them from the Word of God.

.

2 Corinthians 4:3, 4. . . . ."But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god (Satan) of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."

.

May the Lord continue to provide for the needs of His chidren and keep us all safe from harm.

Another beautiful day of blue sky and sunshine on the Gulf coast area today.  That spells HOT for the month of August.

.

Holly. . . . .It is true that people never hear those unspoken words that they should have heard, nor smelled the sweet fragrance of the flowers they should have been able to hold in their hands, or felt the hugs from a spouse or child that was too busy at work or play.  There are always regrets when we lose a loved one, the biggest is that we never spent enough time with them.  The "world" is all in shock over the loss of Robin Williams.  I personally only liked one of his movies, Mrs. Doubtfire, the rest not at all.  It is tragic for his family to deal with his manner of death, but that might have been necessary for God to draw their attention to Him.  For whatever reason, we, as Christians, know that God is in full control and this is perfectly according to His will. There does't seem to be much notice put on the death of Lauren Bacall who passed away yesterday.  She was equally loved and admired in her career as Robin.  Seems like these deaths happen in 3's.  If that hold true, there should be one more soon.   If only people could see that all of that fame and fortune cannot begin to equal the joy of one who values their blessings from above, then perhaps they would change their thoughts to a different type of riches that only God can give.

.

Rahab. . . . .What a pleasure it is to see you.  Your visits are few and far between but you still light up the room each time you come.  Hope that you will try to visit more often.

.

May the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ guide us this day through all of our thoughts, words and deeds and continue to keep us safe in His loving and merciful care.

A Tribute to Robin Williams-something I shared on FB,I will share with you.....

You know,I am reading about how loved this man is,and all of the great things people are saying about him now,and it made me wonder....How many others do we love or admire, and these things are never said until after they are gone.Maybe he needed to hear some of these things. My mother once said,"I don't want people bringing me flowers when I am dead.I want them now." Should it not be that way with all of the kind things we do?I have experienced the pain of loved ones being taken from me with so much left unsaid,so much left undone, and nothing but plans to do those things that never will happen in this lifetime now.I can never retrieve that. This is the biggest agony of grief.I drive my family crazy with all these sappy cards, and saying "I love you" a million times a day.But I try and let this always be backed up with actions. And I do it now,not later. There isn't always a later.Do not have the regret of things left unsaid or undone. To grieve a loss is bad enough. To grieve inaction is a wound so deep it never will heal.TO ALL MY LOVED ONES,FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME,I LOVE YOU.I MEAN IT JUST AS MUCH THE MILLION AND FIRST TIME AS I DID THE VERY FIRST TIME.Say those kind things.Do those kind deeds.Always make sure that you are at peace with GOD,with yourself, and with those who matter.Because when it comes down to it,no other thing does matter.

JJ. . . . .great to see you here.  We all love you too.

.

Linda. . . . .We always started school the day after Labor Day and got out either the last Friday in May or the first Friday in June, whichever would even out the number of weeks for the (6) six week periods.  Things were a lot less complicated back then and the education was better.  Go figure!  I do feel very blessed with this new Dr. and thank the Lord daily for it.  The dental work is not a promise, but only a good possibility at this point.  The Lord will work it out for me, I'm sure.  Glad you had such a good report on your recent visit to the dentist.

.

Holly. . . . .Thank you for such a beautiful bouquet of roses. The little Baby's Breath looks so pretty mixed in with them. Sending hugs your way also.  Have a great day.

Good afternoon Jeanette and everyone else. Can't believe the kids are getting ready to go back to school already. I remember when school didn't start until after Labor Day in September. Of course back then we didn't get out for summer vacation until the middle of June. Had a thunderstorm come through late last night. Been awhile since we had gotten any rainfall. Supposed to get rain, possible thunderstorms through out the day as well.
Holly-your daughter's dog Koda is beautiful. What breed is he? He looks like he might have some husky in him. Also praying for the salvation of Jeriqua and your other daughter and son as well. Sorry can't recall their names.
Jeanette-so glad you have been blessed with a doctor that has some experience and seems to care about you as a person, not just another patient. Hopefully she can find a way you can have dental work done that you've been needing. Speaking of the dentist, had an appointment at my dentist last Monday for a cleaning. Thankfully everything went well and no cavaties or any other major costly problems were found. Don't have to go back until December.
A belated Happy Jamaica Independence Day to my Jamaican brothers and sisters. Sorry, but I'm extremely ignorant when it comes to the history of Jamaica. What country is your nation celebrating their independence from?

Holly. . . . .Glad that Jeriqua is there under a family setting and spiritual influence.  It was when the Lord brought Teresa back to the nest that she was able to turn her back on her sinful lifestyle and receive the Lord Jesus as her personal Saviour.  She was raised with the head knowledge but after returning home with us, it finally dropped down into the heart and soul.  And I do agree with you, animals are very thereputic.  I once had a Dr. tell me that just stroking a cat or dog can help lower ones blood pressure. They have a calming effect on me for sure.  She should have named him Kola instead of Koda.  Kola is Sioux word for "friend".  He looks like a sweet baby.

May the Lord bless each of His children with their needs and continue to keep us all safe from harm.

Another week down and only 20 more til Christmas.  That is a frightening thought.  The year is over half gone.  My how time flies when you are having fun.

.

Kaya. . . . .I'm glad you had a good time celebrating.  I would imagine it will carry over through the weekend.  I've been on a downhill slide for a while now but this Dr. visit was to meet the new Dr. they assigned me to at the clinic.  It is a learning/teaching hospital and we all get student doctors. This time all three of us have been so blessed, we were given a 2nd year resident Dr. instead of a 1st year student as they have done in the past.  Her parents came here from India but she was born and raised in the U.S.  This is the first time I have felt like a Dr. really cared about my health and was going to actually treat me with the intention of improving the quality of my life.  She has already changed out 2 of my medications and is ordering tests for me to see just how much my lungs have deteriorated since my last test 10 years ago or more.  She is also going to check into a way to get my dental work done so that I can eat half-way normal again.  At least she has given me hope. I'm so elated with her and thankful to God for putting her in charge of me.  I was totally worn out when I got home.  My appointment was for 2:30.  We left home at 2:00 and didn't get back until 6:10pm.  I came in and crashed.  I slept good through the night also.  What a blessing.

.

Holly. . . . .How wonderful that you and William were able to relax and enjoy your evening together.  I have never heard of coconut shrimp.  It doesn't sound like something I would like, but if it looked good, I might be coaxed into trying it. Oooops, we just had a clap of thunder and it has started to rain.  Hope it doesn't stop anytime soon.  It did this yesterday morning and the afternoon was like a sauna, steamy hot.  It was miserable for me since I had to go out in it.  Today I can stay in and enjoy it.  I feel a nap coming on.

.

May the Lord guide us through our thoughts, words, and actions.  May He always keep us safe in His loving care.

It's another re-run day here, thank you Lord for allowing me to share in it.  We only got a light shower yesterday that was over before we ever knew it had rained.  Very light that we could not even hear it on the roof.

.

Michael. . . . .Hope your young fellows were anxious and happy to be off on another adventure of their lives this morning.  The first day of each year was always exciting to me, finding out which friends would be in the same class, what teacher I had, if she was pretty or not, (and that made a big difference).  Pretty teachers were easier to love than one not so blessed.  Mother knew the first week of school the food would all be fresh with no rotten or spoiled leftovers.  I always got to buy my lunch that first week. Our first day down here is next Tuesday, the 12th.  That is surprising.  Normally our kids start before all of the other states because we have holidays for Mardi Gras and there is always a possibility of having to close for a hurricane.  By starting early, there are less make-up days.  Everything has changed so much since we were kids.  We still have those wonderful memories but they only serve to make us less content with the way things are today.  Maybe that is why God erases so many minds when we get older.  It keeps us happier that way.  A new world each day.  LOL.

.

May the Lord bless each of us with our personal needs and continue to keep us out of harms way.

Another hot and beautiful day building on the Gulf coast. Should peak out around 92 before the heat triggers some thunderstorms later in the afternoon.  This is said to be the pattern all week long, even through the weekend.  The same was said for yesterday also and we never got a drop of rain. One of those "what you see is what you get" kind of forcast.

.

There are 2 things that I find discouraging when I come here.  One is to click on Salvation By Grace when it says no one has been here for 15 hours or more.  The other is to arrive and find the member count is minus 1.  That means that someone has left the group.  Come on folks, help keep this old lady happy, please!

.

Kaya. . . . .I'm not sure if I like your photo or not.  I'm just glad that I'm not the creator of that "cartoon".  I would be so afraid of putting untrue words in the mouth of Jesus. Those are words that Jesus never spoke.  Guess what?  I saw another tropical disturbance is maybe SE of you and you might get some more rain from it when it gets closer.

.

Gabra. . . . .All is as well as can be expected here, hope that you and yours are well and at peace also.  Lots of prayers being said for you.

.

Holly. . . . .Glad to see you here this morning.  Isn't it a shame that Bob M. never read Matthew 5:48 which says, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."  This is what we are always supposed to strive for, to be as near Christ-like as we can.  We are also supposed to judge one another by our walk with the Lord, but we are never to judge another's soul.  That is God's to judge.

.

May the Lord guide us this day in all our thoughts, words, and actions and keep us safe from harm.

Wishing all of you a fantastic week.

.

Kaya. . . . .That is the cutest little puppy, thanks for sharing him with all of us.  Glad to see you here today even without convrsation.  I was worried that you might be without power from the tropical storm that we were not hearing from anybody on the island.  At least now I know that you have contact with the outside world.  They are expecting Bertha to make a hurricane this week but no threat to the U.S. She is predicted to turn and go NE and away from us.  They are also predicting her life as a hurricane will be short lived.

.

Holly. . . . .Although the story of Kyle is not a new one, it is a wonderful reminder of how important a kind word or just a smile might be to others.  We never know the burden they carry on their shoulders or in their mind.  There is too much cruelty in this world.

.

Carol. . . . .glad to see you back again today.  Hope all is well with you and yours.

.

Nance. . . . .where in the world have you disappeared to?  We miss you and hope to see you back soon.

.

Hopefully all of our missing in action members will find their way back this month.  May the Lord continue to bless each of us with our individual needs and keep us safe in His loving care.

The Boy With The Terrible Sadness

One day, when I was a Freshman at high school, I saw a kid from my class walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd. I had quite a weekend planned, parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon, so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running towards him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying. He looked and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him.

I jogged over to him and as he crawled around looking for his glasses, I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses I said, “Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives.” He looked at me and said, “Hey thanks!” His face really changed, with the terrible sadness disappearing. Instead there was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.

I helped him pick up his books and walked home with him. We talked all the way, and I helped him carry his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play football on Saturday with me and my friends. He said “yes.” We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him. And my friends thought the same of him.

Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends. He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for business on a football scholarship. Kyle got top marks in our class, I teased him all the time about being a nerd.

He was asked to prepare a speech at the graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak. I saw Kyle on graduation day, he looked great. He was one of those guys who really found himself during high school. He filled out, and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I did, all the girls loved him! Boy, sometimes I was jealous -- today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech, so I smacked him on the back and said, “Hey, big guy, you'll be great!” He looked at me with one of those looks, the really grateful for one, and smiled. “Thanks,” he said.

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began. “Graduation is a time to thank those who have helped you make it through those tough years, your parents, your teachers, maybe a coach... But mostly your friends. I am here to tell you that being a friend to someone is the best gift that you can give them. I'm going to tell you a story.” I just looked at my friend in disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so that his mum wouldn't have to do it later, and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. “Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable.”

I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment. I saw his mum and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realise its depth. So never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life -- for better or for worse.

Today is a mixture of a little bit of sunshine and a little bit of cloudy.  As the clouds seem to be taking over, we are looking for an afternoon of rain and thundershowers and a peaceful nap time.

.

Holly. . . . .that is a very good photo of Jasmine and Israel. So much beauty in youth.  They do remain on my prayer list.

.

Carol. . . . .First let me tell you that I loved your WANTED poster on the Scripture thread this morning.  Thank you for sharing it with us.  Sorry your garden was not as plentiful as in the past, but with the prices up so high, even what God has provided for you is a blessing.  We have stopped putting both tomatoes and bell peppers on our weekly shopping list. They are rare purchases for us these days.  Gardening takes a lot of time and work but the yield is worth it.  My neighbor behind me always plants tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers and okra.  Then he alternates between broccoli and mustard greens.  One year he planted some kind of melon and it took over his whole yard and they couldn't even mow that corner of the yard.  He said never again will he plant melons of any kind.  I guess his yield is good considering it's just a city backyard plot on a piece of land 80' X 12' and the house sits in the middle of it.  Doesn't leave much yard space in the front or the bac and his garden doesn't go across the full 80' of fencing.  It's probably only 40' that he uses for planting.  He does feed the plants Miracle Grow and it seems to help a lot.  The plants do get really big and put out enough that they freeze some of it.

.

Hope that all of you are enjoying your weekend and this wonderful Lord's Day.  May God continue to bless each of us according to our needs and keep us safe from all harm.

A wee little bit of sunshine graced us this morning but it has since given way to heavy cloud cover and showers or building with the daytime heating.  Due for more thunderstroms this afternoon.

.

Holly. . . . .I did see on the Weather Channel where Jamaica got a some good and much needed rains from Tropical Storm Bertha.  Don't want then to get too much at one time, but hope that some more is on the way for them soon. This should help with the wild fire situation if it doesn't cause mud slides from the hills.  I know those growing gardens were happy to get this rain.

.

Michael. . . . .Again, you are most welcome, it is my pleasure each month.  Guess you are getting the boys ready for school.  How soon does your school year begin?  Hope they are looking forward to it and will do good this year.  What grade will Luc be in?  Are his papers finalized yet?

.

Carol. . . . .Great to have you with us again today.  How has your summer been?  You mentioned a couple of months back about working in your garden, hope it thrived and produced plentiful for you.

.

May the Lord bless each of us according to our needs and keep us all safe from harm.

Good morning,everyone.God bless you.

Heavy rains drenched sections of Jamaica for the first time in months. But Jeffery Spooner, director of the Meteorological Service of Jamaica, said that is not enough to break the drought that the country has been experiencing

We were awakened to the sounds of a thunderstorm this morning.  What a great way to start a new month.  I looked out the window and saw the rain pouring off the roof, turned over and went back to sleep again.  It's mid morning now and it is still raining.  Think we are socked in for the day.

.

Holly. . . . .Since you are back on the bus today and have a good way to walk after you get off, I hope that you are not having our kind of weather.  I will pray everything gets taken care of with your car today and you will be back to driving again.  Also, know that prayers are being said for your family and especially for your daughter.  Hopefully the Lord will be able to reach her one on one as a result of this recent upset and His blessings will be poured out on her.

.

Hopefully all of our members will become active again this month.  Participation has been slowing down but it is vacation time and those with children are getting them ready to go back to school.  You are all missed when you are absent.

May the Lord guide each of us in all of our thoughts, words and deeds to the glory and honor of His name.  May He continue to keep us all safe in His merciful and loving care.
