Unless we have reached perfection, we are still sinners!  Just not active ones.  There is an interesting story about an Orthodox Jewish Man who was on his deathbed.  Benjamin lead a very good life and always followed God. His Brother asked him if he could get anything for him.  He said, "Yes, I want a wormy apple!"  His Brother was startled.  "But Benjamin, you know you can't eat meat.  That would be a Sin."  "I know Dear Brother, but when St. Peter starts reading the list of all the Sins I have committed, I will then know when he reaches the end of the list!"  They both laughed.

Romans 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

My Poppa used to explain this to me as we are all sinners, but some of us are saved and some are not.  Therefore, there are saved sinners and lost sinners.  God sent His Son to cleanse us of our Sin, our inherited nature that we were born with, not our daily actions (sins) which total many.  That is why we must continually ask for daily forgiveness and as we grow stronger in the Spirit our daily sins will become less and less, but we will never be completely perfect in this life as our Saviour was.

Isaiah 64:6  But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags;

No matter how good we think we become, we will never achieve perfection in this life.  It only takes one tiny little sin, the least of them all, to make us dirty and unclean again, needing to seek daily forgiveness again and again and again.  Only when we are called to be with the Lord and given our robes of righteousness will be be completely clean.

I can’t speak for anyone else, as for me, I am a sinner......

I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate... I can will what is right, but I can not do it. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do. Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I that do it, but sin which dwells within me. __Romans 7:15-20

For me it’s progress not perfection, I feel as long as I put forth my TRULY BEST EFFORT & ask for forgiveness as soon as I realize I’ve made a mistake being anointed in Jesus’ blood with God’s grace I am forgiven. I even ask for forgiveness for the sins I commit and am unaware of because of my ignorance.

I once was blind but now I see, still realizing I am still near sighted.

It took me untill last summer to quit living in shame & guilt. I was so burdened with my old ways & still not being good enough. I will never, in this life, be perfect & without sin. I’m not supposed to be, I am a human being, being human & nothing more. God wants the best for me, to enjoy my life, to pass on what I have learned throughout my journey of mistakes, to help another. I know I am far from perfect but before I drown myself in that thought I focus on how very far I’ve come & get excited about how much more God has to show me. Jesus is loving me & U too!!! We should note that all unrighteousness is sin. Men are prone to classify sin little or great, black or gray, mortal or venial. But to God, all sin is offensive and objectionable. As an example of the difference between man's and God's judgment of sin, man classifies the sin of lying as one of the lesser evils, but God places "all liars" in the same category as the abominable, murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, and idolaters (Revelation 21:8). Moreover, He pronounces the same judgment upon all of these sinners-eternal perdition in the lake of fire and brimstone.

None of us is perfect

We have all fallen away from the love
and purity of God. Nobody can say: I am perfect.
We all have a list of sins we have committed.
Even those who try hard to be good.

We can never be the holy, blameless people
God made us to be. We chose for selfishness,
impurity and desires, instead of obeying
God's will of love, honesty and purity.
The entire world is ruled by powers of lust,
pride and dishonesty. We all live in this influence.
Even the best persons have failed in numerous ways.

God needed to solve this problem.

Because He is righteous. He is entirely just.
Perfect love. Ultimate truth.
Light without darkness. Purity in its brightest form.
He cannot allow any form of evil to enter
His realms of heaven. It is utterly impossible.

Light is no longer pure when darkness is allowed.
Love is no longer love when selfishness is accepted.
Truth is no longer truth when it embraces lies.

God needed to solve this.

Because He cannot leave sin unpunished.
Weed must be removed, otherwise it will
overgrow the garden. Cancer must be destroyed,
otherwise it will ruin the body.

Evil must be punished and put away forever,
otherwise there is no way for love
and goodness to live freely.

God needed to solve this.
Because the eternal guilt and
the resulting judgement of mankind is a reality.

We can all deny it, shut our hearts for it and run away,
pretending there is no such thing as God's judgement,
over the darkness of our lives. We can all hide
in the lies of our hearts and act as if nothing
is ever going to happen as a result
of our hidden acts and thoughts.

But it doesn't help. Not at all.
God is light and His eyes see everything.
He knows all. He sees all.
And He will give us according to our deeds.

Waleu I agree we can only repent seeking God to help us in our dieing world. Salvation is of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. No one is perfect through the blood of Jesus who cleanse us of all un righteousness. We are made whole through Jesus if we repent and follow Jesus amen.
