Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Bruyere's Club! December 20, 2005 4:32 AM
Here is a place at Care2 where I hope we can come together and share our beloved pastime and passion--the love of the briar, and how it benefits our lives, even if it is just taking a moment now and again to relax and let the burden of the modern world slip away.
I invite you to post links of interest, memorabilia, local club happenings and pipe show dates, related books, films what have you.
Rant a bit regarding the asinine ‘bans’ now cropping up everywhere. Lament a lost B&M store--as you discover a new one through a share here. Share information gathered via real research done on the benefits of tobacco--not the based on un-tested assumptions and flat-out lies we’re being spoon-fed.
Introduce yourself! Tell us how long you’ve been enjoying the tobacco, be it in an Anniversary Dunhill or a down-to-earth, workhorse cob.
Have you ever carved your own pipe? Have some techniques or advice you’d like to pass on?
What is your favorite ‘baccy? Found a good source for certain blend? Miss an old standby now discontinued? Have a recent estate purchase attack while surfing eBay?
Share with us!
A gentle reminder: I’ll not abide any flaming or attacks on members by members. We’re here to gather and expand, not get swept up in a unrealistic sense of personal outrage because someone in a Virginia smoker, another a Burley or enjoyer of Aromatics, or what have you.
Hey, I am excited. That's not bad for a club such as this in this day and age--considering the facts this place was only created a week or so before Christmas and it’s not even in the directories yet!
So, lets all sit back, put up our feet, pick up our favorite smoke and light one for the Bruyere’s Club Members!
