Having just finished dinner, I felt like opening a tin of Fribourg & Treyer's Cut Blended Plug. Though I very much enjoy F&T's Special Brown Flake & Cut Virginia Plug, this blend is new to me. I have filled my trusted Wiley Galleon 33, which seems to like Virginas. Later this week, after a couple of bowls, I'll share my 'opinion'. Smoke well, Henk

Thank you, Melissa. The garden party was an elegant affair with a select 40 guests... including two other brothers of the briar, one of which (Bas28) you may recall from Smokers Forums. Our combined 'smoking power' helped keeping the mosquitos at bay.
Bonne pipe,
Henk

First puffing of a long day. Up at 5 am, on the road to Vermont and looking at houses at 9 am. 7pm and just in the door, time to put the feet up and light up.
Later it will be a pipe when I am settled enough to get to work (writing). But for now, an cutting of humidity and hours of highway dust and sun-glare, it is a Drew Estate ACID: Blue Connecticut cigar.
Specifically the Fight Employment Smoking Bans. And good luck, Neil. Maybe a case for self-employment time? *double sighs!* I am so sorry to hear that.
Still, I also enjoy some of the herbal smokes. Legal items like KINNICK-KINNICK and blends by Earthspell Exotic like Dragon, Dream and Shaman Smoke. Have a couple briars dedicated just to herbals. NOT a good idea to go mixing tobacco and herbals in the same pipe. All one gets is a rather nasty taste.
Sadly, I have pipes, I have tobaccos but unfortunately my employer instituted a new policy effectively prohibiting the use of tobacco products by employees (they add on a draconian tarrif to your health insurace bill if you do not promise to quit). On the other hand they do not prohibit the use of non-tobacco products which might include the herbals and weed. This does provide food for thought on the basis of engineering creativity.

Well, another dip into the cigars tonight. Just want to get through these flavored and onto the good stuff. Though this Cojimar Cognac is not that bad. Actually, I picked up this one tonight based on room note. Truth be told nothing beats the pipe when it comes to that, still, it is a very cold evening and could only keep the vent fans on so long.
Next warm day, am looking forward to the Montecristo!
Brrr, cold night after a very long day, so dipping once again into my free sampler box for something new...ah, Tobacco Galleria's Blue Note. Description: "Burley, Virginia and Green River tobaccos with a delightful aromatic top flavor."
Filling up my Comoy's Bulldog. Should be just the thing to relax to after a day like this one.
This evening's choice is... January 19, 2006 4:25 PM
I just finished up the 2nd half of yesterday's 2nd pipe of Chocolate Royal. Great stuff and a lot less sugar than cocoa--but just as good!
Now, I am working on a bowl full of CC 2003 in my Moretti.
Boy, this is just GREAT stuff! I am really going to miss this when the tin is finished. Am thinking of picking up another tin of CC 2005 while it is still available. (I have one CC 2005 in my cellar for next year and want to save that to age.) Still, that Christmas Cheer is just so good for a winter's eve smoke!
Has anyone tried the McClelland Anniversary? I feel a shopping attack coming on and figure I better get some before this limited edition is out...
Relaxing after work; this evening I decided to go into my Altadis sampler box and try some Tobacco Galleria Classic Vanilla: "An all time favorite. All burley blend topped with vanilla."
It is not too bad. I recommend it for folks looking for a very light, if not just plain delicate smoke. A large bowl seems to help in bringing out the taste of vanilla. A light and loose cut, the burley stays lit better when packed medium tight.
Hitting my Altadis sampler box tonight. Trying some Tobacco Galleria "Almondine" - A mild smoke with the intriguing taste of almond liquor.
Not bad. Trying it in my little Trypis pipe. Mild it is, but did not quite tasting the almond till 2nd pipe. I have an idea this would be better in a larger bowled pipe.
