Slang January 04, 2006 8:10 AM

Each generation has it's own slang, such as today's... 24/7, on-line, metrosexual...ect. What slang words or expressions did Baby Boomers lay claim to?

Okay confess., did you ever say..... Groovy, Far Out, or Boss?

in high school, some things were gross, some people were snots, bad news was a bummer. just a few of the pants i wore in the 70s were...elephant pants, gauchos (sp?), bell bottoms, straight legs, hot pants, floods.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

You better watch what you say Christy!  The Bush administration may be monitoring these messages.  Have you ever heard of the "Patriot Act"?

Peace Sister!

AAaaaahhhh  HHhhhaaaaa!  I say trippy  all the time!  I knew, somehow, it must be from "earlier periods of my life".  Sometimes it doesn't seem like that long ago..., but, people tilt their heads as if they've never heard the term before!  I understand trippy.  What's the matter with those who don't?

I almost wouldn't mind being on a government "watch list", if I thought they were able comprehend the brilliant things I have to say.  Other than that, my being watched by "Big Brother" just pisses me off!

a rhetorical conversation that I overheard once.... January 06, 2006 7:46 PM

"Hey, man, how much is it to buy a lid?"

"Ten bucks."

"Far out!"

"Hang ten, dude."

"For sure."

Lid, oh, wait, oh, yeah-- okay-- lid!  Yeah!  Lid!

Lid used to be an honest measurement.  Some reliable standard to go by...

Glad I quit.

What's a kilo go for and Pigs January 06, 2006 11:13 PM

I never did know what a kilo was, but I figured it was big.

It's ok. Georgie puffed too.

My uncle was a cop in Pomona Cali, back in the day.

They had a program during xmas there they went into the low income housing and gave toys to the kids.

After handing a  little  boy a toys the boy responded "OH THANK YOU MR PIG" and really meant it. lol
