I am Luella and we have two furkids, Misty and Heidi. Misty will be 11 years old in March and Heidi who we found out in the wilderness in the Hill Country of Texas about three months ago is 8 months old. They both eat a raw diet and take colloidal silver every day, as do I.
I am a natural health advocate and spend my time not only helping people to heal naturally but also our beloved furkids. I moderate two health forums and have my own natural healing for forum for pets.
Other things I do is work with "at risk" kids, visit assisted living facilities and got to make time for camping.
Hello Everybody! What's New? February 12, 2009 6:22 PM
How is everyone? I'm doing okay. We've been pretty busy around my house lately. Living here with me now is my daughter and our faithful dog Toto (he's our peekapoo and he's 13 years old)...our cat Charlie and his four children (he's since been "fixed"), Francis, Ciao E., Wilma and Honey McDork, plus my three year old nephew, Keith, and Rowdy, his puppy dog. That's what's new around here!
I hope everyone is doing just fine! Vibraceous, ND
Welcome to the group Sandy! There is so much info here, I have decided to learn more, this group and its host are my inspiration, and I hope yours also.
I am sorry about Mocha, but I am glad that she spent the last months of her life happy and loved.
Yes, it seems raw food is the way to go. All mine are on an organic raw diet, and seems much healthier for it. Cats are harder to switch over than dogs, very finicky.
Since my cats have skin disorders, one of them badly, I stick to Primal, it has coconut oil in it. Staying away from chemicals used in processing will help with the cancer problem, even though the Boxer breed is genetically programmed to get cysts, hopefully no one else will get cancer. Even when I mix in canned to the raw, which the two oldest HAVE to have, it is a high grade food and I keep leftovers stored in glass containers, never in the can. The lids are sealed with lead and other chemicals, I even pass out glass jars to other pet owners and tell them.
Vibe has some very good nutrition articles in here, I have a folder and copy many out for future reference.
Good Luck with the new diet, and her is to your health, and the heatlth of your charges!
Hello, I am new in here. October 24, 2008 10:00 PM
Hello everyone, I am new to the group. I am not sure if there is another sandy here or not, but I am not yet vegan although I am trying to get there, and my dog although she does eat raw she eats a raw meaty bone diet.
Due to one of our dogs (Mocha) who fought cancer is how and why I am trying to change things for myself as well as why I feed my carnivores raw meaty bones and looking at more natural ways to live and treat ourselves. Before MOcha passed away we started feeding her raw food with veggies and stuff in it. But that just encouraged the type of cancer she had to grow faster. We switched to a raw meaty bone diet and her coat got softer, her breath got sweet smelling, her teeth got white. She ate like a queen for the last 6 months.
Another reason for our change in diet is, I am diabetic adn my husband has two stents in his heart. I have seen where my numbers are lower the next morning if I eat more raw foods at night, even if I do have ice cream or something sweet after dinner.
Our last two fur kids are in heaven now. We do have a great boxer who shares our pillows with us now.
I also enjoy quilting, fabric, books of many kinds, photography, photo album scrap booking and much more.
I am looking forward to meeting others in here and getting to know you all. I do sometimes go for days without going on line so I may be slow to respond. I do usually check my email though so one could right to me directly and i woould be more likely to see it.
Well for now that is it. I need to get moving on to some other things. See you all soon.
I just welcomed our newest members to the group, I hope they enjoy it as much as I do, and really learn about the natural alternatives out there.
Sandy, one of them, I see is into Raw food for herself and her animals! That is great! Both are vegan, so healthy! The love for animals shows when you open your eyes to what is happening out there, with factory farms and circuses--just animals in entertainment in general.
I still am going to Clayton College, just had to put it back some, few months at most. Brandy needs an operation, and my cats come first.
Vibe, question--I made three tinctures so far and two turned out great! But I made one with Calendula flowers and even though I measured it very carefully, it seems to have gotten a film on it, when I shake it, this mass does float around. Should I just restrain it, or start over? I use it as an ear flush for my cats and me, the calendula in general, not that bottle yet, I have sopme put aside and it seems fine.
Well, gotta go right now, I need to pick up my car this afternoon, and want to get some chores in before, like Brandies bath, and my cardio.
I will check back in later today to see if you answered. And just to check the site.
My doggies and kitties and me are okay...and the kids. We gad a big battle with fleas but I think we've finally won! Fleas can be so hard to get rid of sometimes when you have a lot of animals in a house, and if you can't get everything and everyone all washed in the same day. That's the biggest part of the challenge for us!
Please post in the threads, everybody! We need input to make this group even better than it already is! I really do love this group...I love that it addresses issues concerning ALL animals, and that it helps us to learn how to care for them the way nature naturally did before they were in our care. (That's a bit of a tongue twister, but I think you know what I mean! Hahaha!)
By the way! We got a new kitty a little while back! His name is Charlie! Now there is Charlie, Mowie, Mary Jane, Emmy, Precious, Toto and Domino living here with with my children and me! The first five are cats and the last two on the list are our dogs.

WONDERFUL NEWS FOR EVERYBODY!!! December 16, 2006 8:39 AM
Hey, Everybody! Hello! I have some really great news!
I've been working on getting a grant for the past three years, and guess what?! IT CAME THROUGH!
The grant money is for naturopathy equipment, laboratory equipment, office equipment, presentation equipment, and materials and supplies for all the above...Everything I need to get started in providing natural health education on a much wider scale!
What does this mean for animals? This means that I'll be teaching more people about ways to keep their animals more healthy and well using all natural means...Natural foods, herbs, aromatherapy, animal massage, energy medicine, homeopathy, exercise, supplements, lots of fresh water and folk medicine ways!
A big part of my mission is to teach people to teach people to teach, so lots more people (and animals!!!) will be able to take part in it all. This is my lifelong dream...to teach people to be ministers of health.
Soooo....this is a WONDERFUL birthday present for me...one which I hope to give back to the world, always keeping all of it's creatures in mind when spreading the word about how to help us all to be naturally more happy and well!
I hope everyone's doing well! July 25, 2006 5:59 AM
My cable is down and I have to use dial-up. It doesn't work very good and the computer keeps shutting down, and besides, it ties up the phone line. I miss my friends very much!
If anyone needs me, please message me...or if you have my number feel free to call. I'll be back around more often as soon as this problem is fixed!
Hello to A Dog-Gone Good Group of Friends! July 01, 2006 11:41 AM
Vibraceous, ND
Sorry I haven't been able to be around as much as I usually am...I fell down the stairs and broke my leg, and then the ceiling caved in. It's a long story, but if you want to read, here's a big chunk of it all! http://www.care2.com/c2c/groups/disc.html?gpp=7403&pst=371361
This is the best dowry of hopes, wishes and prayers I would be able to offer:
May God give you the grace of wit and wisdom to understand that rainbows are only the result of showers, dust, and hope.
May you always have joy in the morning and trust in the evening and may your sorrows be short and without scars.
May your lives have a spirit neither bent by belligerence nor broken by failure; may you simply love each other.
May you share with each other spring flowers, dirty dishes, music, rain, death, mushrooms, a measure of boredom, strawberries, and God.
May that God never make you immune to the wonderful afflictions of real love, making you instead farsighted to each other's faults, tongue-tied to criticism, and short of memory to petty hurts and slights.
May God provide the confidence and serenity that comes only from the assurance of each other's fidelity and the tolerance, as years go by, of wrinkles and gray hairs, short tempers, curlers, and Monday mornings.
May no one steal from you laughter at the top of the stairs or giggles and whispers in a dark room.
May you keep a hunger for each other, the appetite to taste tomorrow, and deep knowledge of and devotion to your past, heritage and families.
May you perpetuate trust, the radiation of vitality, kind answers to sharp questions and sharp humor to unkind attitudes.
May your fights be fierce and short, and may each truce be warm and long and held in each other's arms before the sun comes up.
May you walk with wise men, sing loud songs at late hours, share secrets, have healthy children, and provide smiles for lonesome strangers and prayers for those without hope.
May you never forget small things; smiles, birthdays, holding hands, family, old friends, the neglected, and the simplicity of saying please and thank you.
May you keep a warm, generous, and happy house where love is the insulation and God is present. May your children be friends of God's child, Jesus.
May your union bring a smile to the face of the Holy Spirit and may he live in your pots and pans, in your hope and aspirations.
