Hi there, i'm Mike and i'm new to the group, found out about it from The basement cafe in Manchester if any of you know it? I'm in a band called BisonHammer and we'd love to play anything you have coming up, the only thing is we're pretty heavy (Metallica, Pantera, Earth Crisis). We totally support your cause and would love to be considered for any up-coming festivals, Metal or otherwise. Also, on the subject of help wanted for the Thornborough festival, I am a qualified Sound Engineer and have lots of experience with stage and set handling so if I could be of any use I think it would be a very enjoyable experience and would love to be involved. Thanks for your consideration and I hope to be able to get involved with the group on a practical level sometime soon.

Thanks, Mike Regan.

Hello from Olga Carolina February 09, 2007 7:12 AM

Hello, I'm part of a band called Olga Carolina. We all went to the festival last year and really enjoyed it, my friends also played at it. We've been about for about half a year now and we've been gigging non-stop in the Ripon, Harrogate and Leeds area. You can check us out at we'd love to be considered for the event. Thank you for your time.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Sold Out! July 08, 2006 2:05 PM

I'm afraid we are sold out for tickets for this one, sorry.

There may be another event later this year that you might like to attend, more details later.

are there still tickets available? July 07, 2006 4:09 PM

We discovered Thornborough last year.  We've just been sent an email with the details of the festival.  Would really love to go.  Have tried to join via the website, but can't upload the application form for the tickets.  Can you let us know if there are still some available and how we can get them.

thanks C & D

thanks May 29, 2006 10:02 AM

A-ha, so Matty's email is ".com" and not ".org" - that'll be why I got an 'undeliverable mail' message when I tried to use the link on the main page then!

Thanks for the myspace add too, how embarassing that I didn't know it was you and messaged back asking whether you've been to the events before and what they were like!

We're up for playing anywhere as long as we can afford to get there and won't look crap compared to everyone else if that helps!

Welcome aboard Colin,

Shame about Thornborough, maybe next year.

One of the things we are trying to do is put together a webpage for every artist member (though we've yet to start), so if you could send some photo's/images and a write up over to that would be cool.

I've sent you a friend request over on Myspace, and one for here to in a minute.

Gig's is a thing we are still trying to get off the ground. We had a regular venue in Harrogate but that's closed. Never mind, the intention is to establish regional gigging circuits so once Thornborough is out of the way we should be able to concentrate on that.

As ever, we are on the look out for people to help out with this, so feel free to offer....

All the best

I'm so new I've still got the new member smell! May 29, 2006 9:30 AM

Wow, this all looks great.  If I wasn't already busy for Thornborough weekend I'd so be there (or at least trying to get tickets!)

I reckon we might even have a crack at trying to play support at one of your gigs too if you were into it.  Seems a grand cause to help out plus we'll do owt for a gig anyway!

Shame I'm missing one in North Yorkshire though.

My situation has improved greatly so please count me in.Hmm should Hippy put a band together (?)  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
 January 18, 2006 2:51 PM

Hold that thought Bill, There's another from Dublin that needs to come, if you have a car there's a good chance we can get another so its reasonably cheap. If not, there is a chance of a pick up from ferry or airport. It's early days yet but I think there will be a number of possibilities. George  [ send green star]
anonymous Help Anyone???? January 18, 2006 2:38 PM

Would love to be there....but, coming from Dublin (Ireland) do I get there????? Need travel directions from the nearest major city to site/location etc. Hope to be there, (think positive, I tell myself!). Be nice to actually meet some LIVE people I know only via the Care2 network. And of course the MUSIC and everything. And a great big Peace, Love & Happiness to All, Bill.  [report anonymous abuse]  [ accepted]

Thanks for the invite George. The festival sounds fantastic. Hopefully I'll be able to make it. Making a move back to the UK sometime over the summer so hopefully timing will work out well. Hello to everyone else! Hello friends and friends I've not had the pleasure of meeting as yet.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
 January 17, 2006 7:44 AM

We had better start a list of questions: 1. How old is the circle? - maybe 10 years old? 2. Can I bring dogs? Probably but I'd need to check. 3. Disabled access - biggest problem here is toilets. You will drive onto the field and we can arrange for you to have your car stay by your tent rather than the parking area. However, there is quite a slope going down to the Stone circle, where the two stages will be. It's not impossible but we would need to check it out closer to the time. Bottom line - there are no dodgy gates to negotiate and it is mostly happening in quite a small area, 70% of which is flat with well cut grass. The toilets are accessible via stairs however, but we are going to need more and there is the possiblity of putting in a disabled capable portaloo.  [ send green star]
welcome to the club January 17, 2006 5:22 AM

thanks for the invitye to join. I am not sure wether I will be able to attend, but I and the whole shipley troupe will certainly try. One problem, hows disabled access enough room for me and my scooter?  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Hiya, Having been at ThornFest (a huge sucess)- and the T shirt is wearing well- but unable to make it for the last helping of music, fun and heritage in Harrogate I can recommend folks should not miss out on the next festival. Lynn  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Not musical? Sounds like someone who could try out for my band - The Alice Syndrome! No, seriously, we are the first band confirmed as playing. In fact we were formed for the first Henge Warriors gig, which was at Harrogate in December. We are planning on writing an entire set just for the festival. It involves a hero called Tius and is set in the late Iron Age period. It involves a mystical alignment and trips to a parallel universe. It should be good.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Thanks for the invite. It'd be great to visit Thornborough again too. Is access still very restricted?  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

It's still quite early days in the organisation, but you also need to know that I'm thinking of combining it with an international heritage activism conference which will go on until Monday 17th.  [ send green star]

Thanks for the invite George. A henge party zone!.... Sounds great. Though I’m not musical I’d love to be there at Grewelthorpe…. No, change that to I will be there at Grewelthorpe. Wish I'd been at the last one too. I have fond (though thanks to ‘Old Peculiar’ not very clear) memories of Masham and the Kings Head. Roll on July 15th and 16th .  [report anonymous abuse]  [ accepted]

Hi George . .count me in. I think the price is good. The Derbyshire pagans if you have a look at the Cave of Awendragons have the same price for the Derby Dale.. .. I will go there too, skip Obod camp another year.. lol.. How old is that stonecircle ? and can be bring our stalls like last year? and are dogs allowed?  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
Hi there! January 16, 2006 3:13 PM

Hi George & thanks for the invite! The festival sounds like a great idea & I look forward to hearing more about it. Not sure if I'll be able to make the date yet or not, but I certainly hope I may be able to!  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Greetings, Welcome to Henge Warriors, by joining you are now a club member. This allows you to get involved with our parties. The next event planned is the Thornborough Festival close to the Thornborough Henges in North Yorkshire, England. Take a look at last years event here: This years Thornborough Festival will be held at Limetree Farm in Grewelthorpe close to Masham. It is an excellent venue that has its own modern stone circle and a large roundhouse. This year we will be charging for tickets, price to be decided. Price to be decided but around £10.00 for the two day event - 15th and 16th of July. Only club members can purchase tickets.  [ send green star]
