Linda was having a problem with posting her poetry sheet in this group. So I thought I would say that if you have trouble try to do this.......
open two windows of care2. Have one opened up to the Poetry Sheet group here and have a new thread opened up as though you are going to post in it.
the second window have it opened to one of your photo albums on care2. upload your poetry sheet from your computer to the album. then click on the pic in the album to enlarge the pic.
now click the pic and while keeping the clicker down begin to drag it to the other window and drop it in there. Then click on the submit button.
then your picture should be in there.
Pamela, I am so glad that you told everybody about my problem, and it was a good idea to post these directions!! I know that I'll have it down pat soon, and I've already got several new sheets to use!!! I'll be able to help others too, if they have questions. Pamela thinks my computer is addled! lol...so do I somethimes !!!
Good morning, Richard!! Good to see you! I have a question...do you have Paintbrush? I have Paint. Go figure...! Pamela's directions are for the Paintbrush program. Let me know, and I'll help you !
Linda has the program "Paint" in her computer and I have "Paint Brush" Linda figured the best way for "Paint" as she was having some trouble trying to go by my directions.
So we now have 2 ways of doing it. If you have "Paint" on your computer than I would say to follow what Lnda will tell you.
If you have "PaintBrush" then I would say follow my instructions.
Hope this info helps you.

Well what I do is I type in "Free Borders" in my web browser and it takes me to many links that I can choose from.
Try that. I never stick with one place and go to many but always do it that way.
Hope this helps!

Embroidery places...they have free downloads ! I haven't tried a 'free' site yet, as I like to make my own, being a crafter and all ! Good hunting and gathering !!
LINDA[ send green star]
Richard has started a new thread where we can place links to places that have free borders and backgrounds.
I went to one this morining from one of his links and it was a very awesome place. I picked a background for my last poem sheet....In This Heart.
~I am in the middle of creating and I am stuck~
I made it thru creating the page and adding some graphics....Do I have to create the poem in a word document and then copy & paste it into my blank poetry sheet?
~LOL~ Now I know I am loosing it....I found the text box in paintbrush.....LOL, it has been there all the time...
Geezzzz, think I better get my eye's rechecked....
Well, Janice I am so glad that you were able to figure out what to do.
I can't wait to see what you have created.
This is so cool. I appreciate you opening up this information to others. I have seen these beautiful sheets that you create.
I get thru everying, but, when I go to print preview, it ends up on two pages, instead of one...
What am I doing wrong? I dunno....Can ya help me?
Janice, I do not use the print preview on my Paint Brush. I just make the sheet, put the poem on it, save it, upload it to my care2 album and then I post it in the group.
I just do it the way that Christopher taught me to do it. He never told me to use the 'Paint Preview' so I dont.
Just skip that and go post it in your album and then in here. If it should turn out bad just let me know and I can delete it from the group for you. But I do have the feeling it will be just fine.
I can't wait to see it.
Thank You Pamela!! Also for emailing me, you are wonderful...
I will try this, and see what happens. I was just confused on the print preview...
I will make this happen, so, I should have something to share this evening.
Way cool, girl! I look so forward to seeing it.
I have no problem MAKING a sheet but choosing the TEXT size...
for long poems you need to use a small text and when you save it to jpg it changes and looks FUZZY...
IF you save it so bmp it is too big to UPLOAD in the albums and usually does not take and my computer crashes!
this is what I created for my friend Raptor but you cannot see it in it's saved 24bit Bitbmp
SO the question IS how to get a LONG poem Like Raptors on a POEM sheet?
And not get fuzzy letters?
It is important that one has the right size poem sheet. It is perfectly sized for the care2 site and your albums. It doesn't matter if you use a blank oneI have set up in here for use or you make your own. As long as it is the same size sheet.
Jpg is what you must save it to or many people will not be able to read the poems you put on the sheets. It is very important that they be jpg's and NOT bmp's.
If the poem is too long then you need to make 2 or more sheets and divide up the poem to place on the sheets. There is no way one can put a long poem on one sheet without changing the size of the sheet. So 2 or more sheets must be used.
Hope this helps,
Pamela and Linda....okay ladies I need your help...I am using Paint to create the pages. I tried every which way that I can figure but the page comes out too small and barely viewable...HELP!
Hi Geri, I will have to help you as I have Paint. Did you get the blank black sheet? You have to copy the blank black sheet and save it to your computer. Here it is just incase you dont have it....
Click on this blank black sheet with your right clicker and save it to your computer.
Then in Paint you go to 'File' and click on 'Open'. A window opens up and you have to find the blank sheet you saved through this window. when you find it 'Paint will bring it up.
It is the perfect size that Christopher made sure of for us. It is also a jpg which is what we want it to be.
Next is you just go on the web to places for free borders and free wallpaper and find what you want. right click to just 'Copy' (not save) and then go back into 'Paint' and then you must click on the box with the 'A' and two boxes pop up. click on the second one...then go to 'Edit' and click on that and it opens and click on 'Paste' (this is where whatever you copied of a border or wallpaper will be brought up to the sheet.)
Once you have your sheet with your border or wallpaper on it and u are ready for the words then you check below to see what color you want your words to be. once you choose your color then click on the 'A' again and the second box below again then glide your curser over the sheet and it will open a section over the sheet where u can add words to it.
u can make it as big an area as you want and then a box up above wil open and it is controls of the size and type of fonts you can choose. Pick what you want then type your poem on the sheet.
It may sound so detailed but once you do it u will see how easy it is. Hope this helps you. Need to know more then just ask me.
Ps: once you are done with the sheet u have to 'Save It' to your computer and as a jpg.
Then you can upload it into your care2 album and then copy and paste it in here.
I copied this and brought it up in my Paint. There are little dots that you can pull to make it grow bigger but when you do it pulls out the sides and bottom white. It doesn't make the picture itself larger....
I dont understand how the size got so small if you made it on the blank black sheet that Christopher gave us to use....
this has never happened to anyone before....
I have tried myself to make it larger and I can't....
I will get back to you on this....I will have him take a look at it and see if he can tell me what to do....sending him a copy to see it....
I will get back to you here when I hear from him...promise!
Geri, I went to save it to my drive till I hear from him and I noticed on the name of the picture file it says photobucket.com....did you ever put this picture through that website? That maybe why we are having trouble resizing it.
it still came out the same size the other way too...like I said I tried it so many different ways to try to get it to work and have it be a decent size...no luck tho
Geri...would you be willing to send it to me and let me work on it in my program...Picture It! 10...?? I was able to resize it, but the text was not very legible. I would like to help you get your page into group, and thought this might be a way. I could send it back to you so that you can enter it yourself. I just got this program today, and have been doing all of my creating in the old Picture It! that was installed on my pc. This is a brand new one...2005...and I might be able to figure something out. I always size my sheets by the inch...usually 4 x 6 or 5 x 7...and they fit right in. Please let me know...firstname.lastname@example.org
Well Linda, I don't have an issue of sending it to you but I also agree with Pamela...hehehe I do need to be able to do it myself...let me give it another try tomorrow and see what I come up with and I'm sure by then Pamela will have heard from Christopher "Mr. Nite Owl" and we can all mastermind and see what we come up with ...okay-sound good?
so I guess that it is back to the drawing board...
so with a little bit of magic...and crossed fingers (that never hurt) hopefully I will have success in my venture
Just don't give up now. I haven't talked with him yet. There has to be a simple way to do this...we are just missing it....He is very smart...anyone who could figure this whole program out to begin with has to have brains...believe me He has them. He has never been wrong with anything he has told me yet. So Keep your fingers crossed and pray he comes on here tonight...
One way or another...we WILL figure this out!!!! Just have a little faith and hang in there.
One thought: Is yoru poetry page the right size and all on your PC? If not... problem lies on your PC and with your software... IF on the other hand, it is right on your PC... then Photobucket could be resizing it... they do that ALOT...
SUGGESTION: (to solve mystery) MAke the Poetry Page look right on Geri's computer... then email it directly to PAMELA and LINDA... let them upload it to THEIR ALBUMS on CARE@ and post it for you... if i works... GEri can simply copy it from one of your albums and paste it in the Poetry Page New Thread slot...
Let me know how that comes out...
are u snickering at me Sir? I seem to recall your Fate as you decided to wing a snow ball at me.......all in good fun
anyway about my poetry sheet...I saved the blank of yours directly to my drive...as a last resort the other day...I tried seeing that if I put it in photobucket would that help the size issue but it did not...so I will start from scratch again today and see where I end up
Hahaha.....Loves this....giggling much here....that pic of that pile of snow reminds me of the time you sir threw me down in a pile of snow....I remember as all I was doing was dusting you off....LOL
I had a feeling once I saw Geri was in here as a member things were going to get more interesting around here....LOL.
Pamela! Glad to be here...oh!! btw: should have I warned u that I can be a bit of a spitfire & a bit mischievous before joining? I always believe in having fun with whatever that I do and whoever that I am with--Life is too short to be sad! Where did the first part of your entry come from though-about the snow?
Well Geri, I am the same as you...a bit of a spitfire too and I'm Irish...a wild combination if I say so myself...LOL.
How is your sheet coming along? I have major edits to deal with and my time on line maybe limited soon so when you are finished with your sheet, give a copy to Linda. She will try to help you with it.
She and I talk daily and she knows my situation with my writing and edits. If there is something she has a problem with, she will inform me.
Geri I have a new co host to help Linda while I am dealing with my edits. Janice has agreed to help out with this group for me. She has "Paint" as us.
She has done some really beautiful sheets herself and can help you also.
good luck with your sheet!
I'm Janice, I'll be helping out for a bit while Pamela is away...I'm not an expert, but- I'll give it a shot...
I've went back thru the thread and read the situation. I am not sure why it is coming out small- maybe it is photo bucket resizing it.
I uploaded mine into an album here on care2 and linked it from there to my post. Try doing this and see if this works for ya.
Hopefully this makes since....If not, let me know, and I'll see if I can post an example of some sort.
~Peace & Light~Janice~
(will somebody let me know if my three roses showed up??)
I Need Help! 11:12 AM
I want to know how does one change the font on the sheet? I have the sheet up and have the coored background on it now. but how does one put the words inside the sheet? Can the font be changed in size and style too? How do you do it?
Hopefully I can help ya out....
After you have set up your blank page, you want to click on the (text) button that is located in the tool box area (mine is labeled A in paintbrush)move your cursur to the top left corner- click and drag the box to cover the page, then move the cursur to where ever you want the words to start.
This will put a box inside your sheet. In the tools, click on the transparent button- (It looks like a tube, circle and a box all in a square) there are two of those buttons, click one or the other, until you see your background. This will bring the background forward, and place the text ontop of the page, (that way you can still see your background/photo).
After you have typed your poem into the text box, you can change your font by clicking on the view button up at the top and select Text tool bar- from there you just choose your font style and size- choose your color of text in your color bar.
When you are ready to save it, save as- give it a title and save as a JPEG
*Note* If you are unable to put the poem on one page, you may have to create another, or ever how many to make it fit.
Hope this helps....Good Luck!!!
Just wondering if everyone is ok with creating their sheets? Not any new questions-
Leads me to believe that you all are picking up on creating the sheets. I have seen a few new faces.
Leave your questions here, and one of us will get back with ya!!!
Janice, we're still waiting for Geri to get her sheet fixed or redone. I have no clue what she is doing with her sheet. I asked Mr. C if he heard anything from her about her sheet and he hadn't. I can only hope she is doing ok with it.
Can someone tell me how to use a program called Paint Pro? Is this the same as Paint? I have the Paint program also and have been using that but I would like to try this new one. I can not make heads out of the directions....help
I don't have this program so I am not able to help you out at all I have Paint Brush. Maybe you can figure it out with Linda. Good luck with it.
Lun, Linda wrote this answer for you. I will post it below. Hope it helps you...Pamela
Linda said, "Lun, you may need to do what is called using two sheets. You put half of your poem on one sheet and half on the other. In this group, you would submit the last page first, then the other...putting your second sheet on the bottom.''
Thanks Linda and Pamela.
I will try that.
Hi Pamela, guess what? I am way behind all you folk here, however I feel now is the time to learn how to create poetry sheets. (Guess I have been too busy writing over the years to try a different presentation!!)
First however, could you or anyone here recommend a good computer program - there must be a simple to use free download somewhere online someone has utilised.....
I see on your how-to thread you recommend Paint Brush for PC's .... can one get this as a free download? Is this the same programme as PC Paintbrush which I see is a free download? You can see I am a complete novice with this aspect of computer technology!!
Looking forward to hear from anyone with the necessary expertise.
This post was modified from its original form on 22 Oct, 2:23
Hopefully I can help explain, but maybe not...
My paintbrush came with my microsoft office or accessories. Look on your PC and see if you have anything that resembles paint brush.
I'll look around to see if there are any free downloads for like programs....Wish me luck!!!
Great to see you here my friend!!!
~Peace & Love~Janice~
Thanks Janice... no my laptop does not have anything resembling paintbrush I had a look....not sure how I will get on, but I appreciate your assistance.... it may take me a while to get to this but something to fiddle around with over the winter perhaps. Thanks again.
Love to you.
