Hi all,

It would be nice if we all could write a bit about ourselves here....whether we are new or old members doesn't matter.

Who wanna be first?    Not me

I don't mind being first lol

My name is Veronica and i live in England with my husband Derek, my cats Fred and Penny and my cocker spaniel Bella.

I am 55 years old with 3 grown up children and 2 granddaughters who are 5 years old and the youngest will be one next month.

I joined this group when it was first started and i became a co host not long after.

Hello!

Thank you Jeanne for the invitation to your group!

I am from a small town in Washington near the Idaho panhandle.  I have 4 children, 2 boys ages 25, 23, and 2 girls, ages 17 and 8.

My youngest and I spend most of our time in the mountains hiking, camping and watching nature pass before us.  We see much wildlife.

We have a dog, wolf mix, named Trouble who is 14 yrs old, he is very handsome, great with children and a wonderful protector.  We also have two cats, Cloe and Illumina.  We have 3 aquariums, a large goldfish 8 yrs old, and 10 new ones.  We have blue neons and guppies and a salt water tank with clown fish, and the like.  Oh, my daughter also has beetles in a butterdish (a school project, they are pretty cool...lol)

Thank you again for invite to your group and I look forward to meeting you all!!

Valorie and thanks to you too Veronica for telling us about you.

OK, then it's my turn.

I'm Jeanne d'Arc...hehe of course that's not my real name, just my nick. I'm a great admirer of Joan of Arc (Jeanne d'Arc in French) that's why I picked that as my nick. I'm the owner of this group. It was originally started by Kathy, but she's no longer in Care2.

I live in a small town inthe soutwest of Norway. I love animals, but I don't have any myself. That's because where I now live is not really suitable for animals. I'd love to have a cat, but there are roads and railways nearby and I wouldn't keep a cat indoors all the time. And I'm away for most of the day, and often away in the evenings too, so that wouldn't be good for a cat. But I sponsor a cat in a shelter so I sort of have a cat anyway

I like literature, theater, being with friends, philosophy, internet, corresponding, travels....

Lately I haven't had too much time to be in the group, but I hope that'll change and I hope our group can grow and be a very lovely place to hang out.

God bless U all!!

Hello Everyone,

Thank you Jeanne for the invite.  My name is Cheri and I live in the 3rd largest city in Illinois here in the USA.  I have two cats and a dog.  My cats names are Precious (she's 2), Calli (she's um maybe 4 - 5 months old.  I got her when she was 8 weeks).  And my dog, the absolute terror of my house.  Her name is Mandy and she's 3.  She's a Lab/German Wirehaired Mix.

Before Precious and Calli, I had two beautiful sisters named Fuzzy and Stripers (who were sisters) but they both died of kidney failure.  Fuzzy died at the age of 18 and Stripers at the age of 20.

I miss them both dearly; however, I have their urns in my entertainment center, so they are still closeby.

God Bless You All and thanks again Jeanne for inviting me.

Love always,

Cheri

Hello Sunday, 3:29 PM

Guess I'll introduce myself, or possibly re-introduce myself -

My hubby, who is from the UK, currently a US resident (not a citizen yet, but we're planning on that someday soon!) and I have been married for almost 4 years, we've lived in Texas for a little over 2. We have a sweet baby kitty named Theodore, a 7-yr old grey striped tabby cat. I have Christian values, although I don't always live as good as I probably should. I love all animals, but not very active in that regard. Well, I'll take off for now, the Super Bowl is starting! BFN!

Love, Chatgirl

HELLO I AM PATSY........

Soon to be 45...

Mother of 2 grown sons 26 and 24.

Grandma of 2 grandsons......Theres a reason they stuck GRAND on there huh ?

My oldest son been married 6 years end of March....Youngest son is getting married in September, to a lovely girl I call daughter already !

I am a Christian who tries to live as sin free as possible.... BUT as we know theres No such thing as Sin Free, except by Jesus PrEcious Blood ! I praise God for Salvation by Jesus His Son.....

I have had So manY animals over the years......

 Many have passed on....

Many I lost from relationship breakups...

Been a few I had to give away with moving.....

Recently I lost my Wolfie a GErman shepard pup about 1 year old, I saved him from the paws here at 5 months old. They were gonna put him down the day I took a friends pets to get there shots. So needless to say I had a new love! HE died at about 1 year old....He been missing for days... I yelled and yelled. Looked everywhere. Asked neighbors if they seen him. Then one day boyfriend found him dead beside the highway. He must have heard me calling him and ran in front of a car.... I said a prayer that Wolfie be with my loved pets that are already in Heaven ! And with Big Granny She loved animals as I, she will love them till I get there !

After Wolfie died 6 months later I lost my Big Bird ! A beautiful cockatiel ! HE would whistle tunes with me.... And he got where he would roam around the house some.... And also sit on my shoulder... I miss Him saying Hello with a whistle, when I come home. I buried him under the tree, I buried my other 2 cockatiels, Chuckles and Big Boy under a few years ago !

Since I only had boyfriend and neighbor animals around me.... Just got tired of losing animals for a season.... BUT I already found a couple I want to take in...But now is not really the time.......

I have had many  kinds of animals too love and they loved me !

Praise God for animals.......

Hi Patsy and welcome to our group. You sound like a real animal lover and I can imagine it being so hard to loose animals like that.

Hello. I'm Bobbie and I just joined. I love the idea of this group! I probably shouldn't join any more because I can't keep up now, but this is such an interesting one. My best friend, Major, left me last Christmas after fifteen wonderful years and thousands of pleasant walks in the park and cuddle times. I miss him terribly every day and haven't quite convinced my husband that we need another pet yet.(I am working on it and I WILL win!) I love all anaimals and believe they are a gift from God. I am sometimes not sure about the black squirrels that rob my birdfeeders, though. I  get pretty mad at them!LOL
Thank you for the invite!

Hi! Happy to be here! I am a full time Grandma, working in a hospital. I have 2 sons and almost 4 grandchildren.
I live out "West" but in a few years would like to re-locate to the Southeast coast of USA.
I love astronomy and cats (I have 4 female furbabies) and spend most of my free time on care2 (instead of cleaning the house).
I also like a live cam called Pete's Pond from Africa. It is a National Geographic live cam that is shown from August to Dec. each year. That is my second addiction!

greetings beloved animal lover kindred soul spirits! i believe God created animals for us to love and admire as companions and protectors. there are lessons we humans can learn from animals about survival, adaptability, and unconditional love. wild animals are born to be wild and are happiest when allowed to run wild, protected, and free; domestic animals need our nurturing homes, protection, and to be part of our loving families. i believe humans need to respect, protect, and love all animals. i belong to many human and animal rights groups on care2 and myspace and through emils and postal mail. all of the animals (and humans too!) i have cared for all of my life were rescues of some kind. God loves humans and animals. save human and animal lives....grow hope, faith, protection, peace, healing, and love. being knowledgable about all treatment and mistreatment of both humans and animals in this world i live a cruelty free vegetarian lifestyle. all of God's blessings and Love to you and your loved ones love from melody

I'm new here, I am 59, I live in California, I love God and all animals, I don't have pets right now but I would love to have pets, but I am gone on weekend trips a lot and wouldn't be able to take care of a pet properly. I heard of something called mobbing and gangstalking and it says they will harm your pets as part of how they harass you and I think it is terrible. Maybe we can all find out more about this and help put a stop to it.

abuse cases

this place probably isn't the thread I should be posting to, but I recently received a note and encouraged to start posting and talking. Since I've been getting alot of animal abuse cases coming across my desk I thought I'd talk about that.  It does overwhelm me how much abuse there is. The mutilation of a couple dogs-leaving them to die after removing a leg!  Oh dear GOD what kind of people have we become?  Dogs left on chains and forgotten to die of hunger.  Forgive us.  When I force myself to read of these horrifics I bow my head and PRAY right on the spot, both for the animals involved, that they will be healed physically and emotionally, will receive good people/homes where they will know love for their remaining days.  AND I ask GOD to intervien in the lives of the poeple who are so twisted, sick, angered themselves that they do such things.  Perhaps, and I hope and pray, there is enough people out there who love and rescue people and can help these folks to become part of the answer instead of the problems.  I know there are alot of people who can take in animals and love them to full recovery, but who's there for the people?

Please as Christains, whatever your denomination, we all serve the same GOD, remember them in prayer too.  We have all been forgiven, some more, some less, but the ones who've been forgiven much, love much. I pray these abusive people will learn of the forgivness of GOD, think of the power for good they will have when they become one of US.

Let us not return anger for anger, hate for hate, but pray for them.  Chances are not many of us will be able to connect with such people in person, but our prayers will touch their lives.  We serve an awesome GOD.

one last thing...

my huz goes in for carpel tunnel surgery this THURSDAY and then again on the 24th he gets the other wrist done.  After that and a little recovery he's looking at torn rotator cuffs in the shoulders, yes both, being operated on yet this year.  He will be going out of work on Workmans Comp and we have a lawyer, and are expecting a fight there, so please be in prayer for us.  We will now be living on 90% of his normal take-home pay and will not be giving up any of our 8 dogs or two cats.

Thanks

Hope to see all of you around the boards!

Hi I'm Jeanne. I can't remember if I introduced myself before. I live in Connecticut with my black shorthaired cat named Hope. She was a little stray and I took her in 8 years ago. She is the light of my life. I lost my retired service dog named Holly 6 months ago. I had to put her to sleep at the age of 14 yrs. She had kidney disease and couldn't keep enough food in her to maintain her normal weight. So, I had to make the right decision (I keep telling myself that) to end her suffering. I still struggle with my choosing euthanisia everyday, thinking maybe if I tried this or done that. I don't know. Her eyes were still brite and alert. I was so afraid of my baby starving and becoming anorexic. You see, I don't have a husband or children so Holly & Hope are my world. I hope to someday have peace with my decision.
I'm so sorry Jeanne. That would be a tough decision to make. I'm sure if she could tell you she would thank you for giving her a nice life while you could. I also definately believe that we will see our animal friends in heaven one day.
Hi, Jeanne, I'm Niki. I'm so sorry you had to struggle with a decision like this. I completely understand. we faced the same agonizing situation years ago with our beloved miniature schnauzer. she was almost 13 and in constant pain with arthritis. also, she had become absentminded and started wandering off, which was dangerous for her. when the cortisone shots weren't helping her anymore, we made the decision to put her down. it was terrible, becuase I had never had to do that before. it makes you feel like you are playing God. and in a way, we are in the place of God to our furry loved ones. I know it was the right thing, but it took a long time to have complete peace about it. it is just so hard and even when you know you had to do it, it is still hard. sending you gentle hugs across the Internet. --Niki, "mom" to Ninja, Tempest and Blue

Jeanne I understand your feelings.  We have had 2 Mini Schnauzers that we've had to put down.  The first little darling, Tori,  was sick from birth and we did everything we could for 4 years but she just couldn't take any more.  After we lost her we had another precious one, Kelsea, for 14 years until she got so bad we couldn't stand to see her suffer any longer.  I kept hoping that God would take her in her sleep, but He left it to us, and I still pray that it was the right decision.

We just aren't complete without a dog in our lives and a few years ago adopted a poodle, Ruby, that was rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico.  She's the light of our home and so loving.  As a matter of fact, she's on my husband's lap right now straring at me with those big brown eyes of hers.  She's a real sweetie and keeps us feeling loved and needed.

May you find peace knowing that your sweet companion is now in a better place and running through the fields enjoying eternal life.

Blessings and comfort to you and your family.

Lin

Thanks to all of you for introducing yourself and sharing your stories. I know such decisions are awful and hard to make, but I guess sometimes it's the right thing to do. If the animal is suffering it's more humane to let it go even if it's very hard on us. After all your animals had good lives with you and I know they'll be thankful to you for that. God bless you all!

Hello everyone,

Thank you Niki & Lin for understanding my feelings and the pain I am in. Sometimes just knowing another person understands makes it a little easier. Someday I hope to get another baby because I really love dogs. Holly gave me more love then a lot of people around me.

God Bless,

Jeanne
