Ask Obama to support the Blueprint for Positive Change January 17, 2009 2:23 PM

http://www.hrcactioncenter.org/campaign/robinson?rk=T1fEv8MaZcpnE Ask Obama to support the Blueprint for Positive Change! President-elect Obama's inclusion of Rick Warren at his inauguration prompted outrage in the LGBT community. President-elect Obama has most recently reasserted his commitment to LGBT equality. He invited the Episcopal Church's first openly gay Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Gene Robinson, to speak at the opening inaugural event at the Lincoln Memorial. Help Bishop Robinson ensure that his historic appearance tangibly advances LGBT rights by declaring your support for HRC's Blueprint for Positive Change, and help keep the new administration focused on equal rights for all.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

anonymous Focus on congress January 18, 2009 10:41 AM

I have a feeling Obama will support it but what we need is to get congress to support it because they have the first and last say weather or not Obama supports gay rights because he is not a dictator...yet and all he does is sign or veto bills AFTER theyve gone through the house and senate and even then he can be overriddn by them. At least if he vetoes anything you can still get legislation passed locally.  [report anonymous abuse]  [ accepted]

We need to do both. Please encourage people to take action. Here's an action right now that can be taken, take it AND also encourage congress. Kind Regards. This post was modified from its original form on 18 Jan, 10:53  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
