Oprah had a guest on this week who had almost died in a small plane crash. She suffered burns over 80% of her body. Her husband, who was also burned (about 30%) was able to pull her from the plane.
Her family did not think she would live, in fact, one brother thought she was in so much pain (doctors put her in induced coma for three months) that he wanted to "pull the plug" and let her go. The family continued to stay with her, day and night, some sleeping on the floor beside her. But they talked to her constantly, played music, and did their best in word and deed to bring her back. She had three young children waiting for her.
She said she had a vision while all this was happening. She was asked if she wanted to leave or "go back" and she chose to go back. Every day is filled with intense pain as she tries to dress, make her childen's lunches for school, and care for her family. The husband, by the way, adores her. And instead of seeing the disfigurement in her face, sees the glow and beauty in her eyes. And I could see those things too, looking through my tears.
One of the purposes of this show was to bring on a young woman with two children who really disliked her "boring" life, doing all the mundane daily tasks that a wife and mother needed to do at home. After seeing what the other woman went through to do things for her family -- and to be there for them -- she changed her whole perspective, and hadgratitude. This show was a life lesson for all who saw it.
It is Canada's Thanksgiving Day on Monday. I am truly grateful for so many things, even the problems that are a part of my life journey.
- Angie, Dusty, Jo, and anyone else who peeks in here. HAPPY FRIDAY! I read down through the thread this morn and all these great quotes of wisdom surrounded me with positive energy. Have a beautiful day! I love you all very much!
Oh my goodness, Angie... I can't believe it! Yes, we sure did do it again! There must be a reason for this! Hope you are having a really beautiful day! Love ya!
Wow... thank you, Angie! I'm glad you kept the Daily Inspirations/Quotes thread alive and well! I couldn't get here and it looks like our Dusty couldn't as well. I hope you are okay, Dusty.
When we contemplate the whole globe as one great dewdrop, striped and dotted with continents and islands, flying through space with other stars all singing and shining together as one, the whole universe appears as an infinite storm of beauty.
Angie... sweet lady... I'm going to shrink that last pic down a bit to save the bandwidth, so if you get it back it's certainly not because I don't like it! I'm just trying to make the thread last longer. Thank you.
Yippee, it's Monday! (I'm trying to feel like I do on Friday but it's not quite the same!) But I'll turn on my positive-thinking button as soon as I find it this morning.
Nice to see you both were here... almost at the same time. Funny how that happens. HAPPYMONDAY, and may you all have a happy & healthy week!
I cherish my "alone" time. Many people today are too busy to realize how necessary it is to our wellbeing to take "alone" breaks. With all the multitasking going on these days, one's nervous system can take a real beating. Taking time to get "grounded" (see "Daily OM on getting grounded) can take pressure off and refresh body, mind and spirit.
Good morning Dusty, Angie, Jo and everyone... hey, wait a minute our Dusty hasn't arrived yet! Hope you are okay, Dusty. It feels like you didn't come to school today!
Oh my goodness, Dusty... we have wisdom, friendship (love) and the happiness of autumn this morning! Thank you!! Makes me feel rather perky!
I just love fall with all its colours and the activity that takes place when the wind makes all the leaves dance in the sky! Its as if they get a joyous burst of freedom they didn't have while having to be attached to a tree looking pretty!
Awww... thank you, Dusty!! What a beautiful picture.
I am a little upset because I just found out that it was World Gratitude Day yesterday. (That will teach me to check my personal mail more often). So, I'm posting a picture and a blessing someone had contributed. I guess we could carry on with being grateful to Mother Earth every day!
World GratitudeBlessing Mama Earth with our Gratitude -- one stone, one step, one day at a time! Happy World Gratitude Day to ALL! ~ May peace be in our hearts, the tools of Love in our hands. May we remember we are ONE HEART UNITED, in Gratitude blessing our Motherland!!!

"Individuals who are positive in their thoughts always
tend to look upon the brighter side of life. With their faces turned
toward the sunshine, they attempt to see the good, even in the bad.
Such individuals habitually think thoughts of a positive nature and
they are a blessing to the world. "
