Hello, Thanks for the invitation to this group. This is a beautiful interface that someone took a lot of time setting up! I really like the idea of a group specifically for animal education (read that as education for humans about animals) and petitions. I agree with the authors that by people continuing to have a voice, petitioning, writing letters, making phone calls, we are heard. In fact I got a personal letter back this week from US Congressman Doggett, who I wrote out of deperation because my own Congress people are so unresponsive, in pleading a case for taking action against USDA for ignoring the laws passed to prevent horse slaughter and to support new legislation to end this practice for good. It shows that they are reading our letters. (He also supports this legislation by the way.) but even those Congress people who dont support our beliefs are listening and tallying our communications so that they have an idea of public sentiment. They always want to be on the bandwagon so lets swing as much support as we can our way. We will begin a reversal in an environment that permits animal abuses. Thanks to all of you! for caring so much about animals. Big hugs!

Hi I'm Carrie,I want to thank Tara for the invitation to join.I'm proud to be here.I love all animals and I hope I can make a difference here and make alot of friends too.
Black Cat, I was "browsing" this morning and it was actually your picture that drew me in and I had to give you a star for it. I meant to write you to tell you but of course I got sidetrack.. one of my bad habits ! So well you are welcome! and I am glad you have joined us!
Kelly, I love how you use a dragon on your posts. We can't forget our magical and mystical creatures either!
Carrie, I just have to tell you that your changing cat faces on your page is so awesome!! I think you will meet a lot of good hearted friends here. There is something about the love of animals that brings out the soft spot in everyones heart.
If you happen to get a message saying that one of your posts have been deleted from this group it is because the same message was posted more than once so I deleted all but one. I dont know why its doing that but it has on several not just one person. So please do not take it personal!
I am new and want to thank Tiffany for the invitation...This looks like a very interesting group and am glad to be here...I look forward to learning a lot more about all these beautiful creatures that God has entrusted us to take care of...
Hope to get to know you all better and Hope you all have a Great Week...

Hello Ladies and Thank you all for joining and participating in our group here! It is so wonderful to know that so many people care about animals !!
Not all of our petitions come from care2. You can search the web for animal petitions to be signed or go to popular animal sites and some of them may have a petition or two! Just look around and also crosspost from other groups you are in or from emails you receive!! Any special news that you come across about animals that you think is worthy to share please post that also.. whether it be positive or negative (meaning vulgar). It is always nice to stay informed about your critter friends too! Knowledge is a good way of supporting them.
So a special thank you to Jacqueline, my dear Mystic, Jennifer, and Cher for joining and your hard work. We all know how hard Cher has been working !!
And a very, very specail thanks to Kym for inviting so many grest paople!!!!
YOU are the tireless worker - as i said before i am just the lazy one to sign and pass on - the amount of research our younger generation - and yes, you are the generation we will depend on to get things done - as we are getting oldddddder and our old hippy selves and parents are now looking to you! YOU are the force that will get things done - we are the supporters - mostly * i speak for myself - and the rest of family here*
We love you, adore you and care for you - please do not quit - ever, ever - Cher, mom Jan and family
Cheryl.. thank you a lot. And much is credit is due to Tara and Kym also!! Keep in mind though just by you signing those petitions does a lot for those animals!! And I appreciate all everyone sign. I was just sick and tired of waiting around for petitions to come my way and having to go here and there to look for them. Now that they are in a group well all of you can just make one stop (well to a certain extent lol.. still a lot out there!!).
SO.. Kathy a.k.a. the resident troublemaker!! That could be good, right? Even so, welcome to a new family of animal lovers and make yourself at home!! Loved your profile too btw!!
Just joined tonight. Thanks to Kym for the invitation.
Just to let you know a little about myself, I have been working for years now to educate people about companion birds. I also am an "Interpretive Ranger" at a state park where my main focus is educating folks about native snakes, plants, and other wildlife so I am happy to be a part of a group such as this one.
Kym, again, thanks for the star. Just wanted to introduce myself, a dog lover and general animal lover too. Seems as soon as you have an animal in your life, you are hooked. I am.
I have a dog group here myself. But I won't advertize out of respect.
Jan, your job sounds very interesting! You could start a new thread at anytime to tell us about it. Education helps us save our critters of the earth. I went to your page and I do have to agree with you on the spiders !
Jacki, just to let you know that you are more than welcome to post your group here at anytime as long as it pertains to animals (of any kind). That is how we crosspost petitions and information so we can get the signatures!!! Its not advertising here at all!
Tara and tiffany - you have been so incredible - let's keep on going! Have not had time all week to respond to personal mail - will do so in next few days - wow!
So happy this group is here - all the critters need this!
Hi! I am new here by invite! Thank you!! I am a married wahm of two little boys and the proud owners of a black cat named Dottie and a bunny named Buffer! I hope to move to a farm some day and have many more pets including a dog (we rent and can't right now) and a horse!!
If you come across any animal petitions on care2 you can start a new thread on here and put the link and the petition name on there for others to sign for the animals !

Hi everyone! Let me introduce myself. My name is Liena,
living in Latvia. I work in 2 dog shelters and i`m very active member
of 2 Latvia`s animal protection groups. I am the youngest person in
Latvia who have ever got cynological sertificate and i study dogs and
humans psychology by myself, so in shelter i work with dogs who are
aggresive or frightened because of having psychical traumas. As you
see dogs are what i care the most. I have a dog who have suffered from
violence first 6 years of his life, i took him from shelter before 5
years and now only scars on his body reminds about his past. I have two
cats (mama and her daughter) i took them from street before 2 months.
As a bonus for my little zoo is 2 guinea pigs wich i took from shelter
too. At the moment i`m fighting about philippine dogs, Latvia`s
organisations didn`t want to support it so now i`m collecting signs for
my petition and actually i don`t care that noone helps me and there is
no guarantee that it will be successful but at least i feel that i`m
doing something for them! Actually it`s possible that next year i`ll
move to philippines ti live there BUT how can i live there knowing that
maybe some dog is being killed at my neighboors house for dinner? I belive that together we WILL change all these things in future (near or far future - it`s up to ourselfs). If i can help somehow feel free to ask, i don`t bite, i`lldo as much as i can. And sorry for my english, still learning it =]

You are right. one person doing something can make a huge difference. You are brave to be trying to make a change in your country and not getting alot of support. I hope that people here can support you in some way, if nothing else people who will talk about these issues. I wish you well and Im glad to know there are people like you in the world who really care about animals and take a risk to make changes to help them.
I'm Tami, growing up a very lonely child, I learned the unconditional love of a horse. He saw me through thick and thin, was my confident (he never worried and I got it off my chest), and my best friend. His name was Royal Flight. Dave and I were in agony over his death. Then, we were lucky enough to find a shetland sheepdog, Frisky. I love Dave dearly, but, there was tremendous comfort in Frisky. I suffered a bout of PTSD, and he helped through the hard times when Dave was not home. I swear he knew the exact thing to do to help me through the panic. He lived a long happy life, and tried to stay living even after having terminal cancer. He always thought of me first, and his suffering second. After his death, we found a loving lap dog shetland sheepdog, Bandit, who only wanted to love and be loved. That help ease the pain over the loss of Frisky. 2 years ago, I found an abandoned 1 week old freezing kitten. Dave and I were delighted he survived. He had some injured an eye, and it did not open until he was 2 months old. Like my self, he has physical and mental scars. He has taught me the life is not about the pain and the past, there may be scars, the the future is much better.

Hi. I am Jim. I spend most of my time behind the scenes providing income to charities. I give any legitimate nonprofit a completely free way to raise money with no effort. I basically do everything for them to make them successful. I have over 1,500 of the best-known internet merchants on board. Whenever anybody shops online, these stores send up to 25% of the sale to either an enrolled charity, or a basket of the best charities serving each cause. I get great satisfaction knowing that I am able to support so many good charities with the income they so vitally need.
