ANY KINKY FRIEDMAN SUPPORTERS HERE? April 18, 2006 9:02 AM
I've been gathering petition signatures in Collin County since March 9th and have gotten quite a few. So, I was just wondering if there were any other Kinky Friedman supporters here?

Owner of the Utopia Rescue Ranch, and best selling author of those awesome Kinky Friedman mysteries! I am a member of Team Kinky, so I will be collecting signatures in the spring!
I knew there had to be some, but everyone's been so quiet about it. I have my ticket to the fundraiser at Love & War in Texas this Friday evening. Even have a new 'Longhorn for Kinky' tee to wear!

from what i can tell most group members from texas are kinky supporters. lone star rick and i posted it under texas politics. please keep us all updated here with campaign.
We'll be at the Secretary of State's office at noon Thursday, May 11 to turn in your signatures to put the next Governor of the State of Texas, Kinky Friedman, on the ballot for the November election. It wasn't easy - the powers-that-won't-be-for-long made sure of that - but you have all spoken with a clear voice in numbers too big to ignore:
Put Kinky on the Ballot NOW!
It's the will of the People of Texas.
All across this great state, from the Piney Woods to the Great Trans-Pecos, from the Llano Estacado to all the way down in the Valley, Texans have signed the petition by the tens of thousands to put Kinky on the ballot and give Texans a real alternative to paper-or-plastic politics.
Kinky invites you to join him for a rally on the steps of the offices of the Texas Secretary of State Building in downtown Austin on Brazos between 10th and 11th Streets at HIGH NOON on Thursday to celebrate this historic event. Please plan to show up and show your support for Kinky, democracy, and freedom. Then head over to Scholz Garden to meet Kinky, campaign staff, volunteers and supporters.
THANK YOU, TEXAS. WE COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU.
The office of the Secretary of State is located on the north east corner of 11th and Brazos Streets (directly across from the Capitol Visitors Center) in the Rudder Building. (click here for a map: Secretary of State Office Map)
I know that Collin County exceeded its quota for signatures, and that most of those were verified as belonging to registered voters. I heard that most, if not all, the counties in the North Texas group exceeded their signature quotas, so that is good news. Now it is up to the Secretary of State...
I know the count seems low, but I don't trust that woman, the other independent, to tell the truth. The Secretary of State said that the 101 boxes that she turned in were really 12 boxes. She just wasted resources (trees) by not filling her boxes.
I also am not sure if she had her signatures verified, I do know that the signatures collected in Collin County WERE verified by the collectors before being notarized and turned in.
hey thats a lot of signitures. nothing low about those numbers at all, not for petition signitures. keep in mind that there are many more who voted in primary due to local issues that couldn't sign, plus as the race begins and more and more people learn about him those numbers are gonna soar.
