Ever have that?? The time when you are just doing nothing in particular and then WHAM it hits you! There are different ways that this happens here are two funny ways it has happened to me:
1. In the shower my mind wanders. sometimes I'll think of a line in a movie, or a scene will pop in my head. Usually within a week of this happening the move will air on TV.
2. Yesturday, again in the shower, I was thinking about my friend who lives on a farm. (I was getting ready to go to her house so this part makes sense). I was remembering a time when she was telling me about the cyotes around the area. (I never knew we had them in Canada...duh). anyway in the shower I thought 'I wonder if they have a gun.' When we were their yesturday her husband took out his gun. I'm not sure shy I was in the house preparing food.
On the way home it dawned on me, 'hey I was just thinking about him having a gun this morning and then her brought one out. his gun kinda reminds me of the one DOC had on Back to the Future movie.' As soon as I ended the sentence in my head my husband started to whistle the song Mr. Sandman from the movie!
I get so mad at myself for NOT listening to my head! So many times in my life I have had hunches and feelings. I call them red flags. I could have been better prepared for some serious painful experiences if I had only listened to ME! I am now writing these "feelings" down so I can keep track of my hunches, just to see how they play out.
I am surprised by all the gifts each of us has, and we don't use them! No more brushing off coincidences or hunches!!
Like you Andrea, Ive ignored my hunches or " higher self ", and have suffered because of it. Ive also listened many times and benefitted from it. We are all very intuitive beings, I know if I take the time to sit quietly and meditate each day, even if its for only 15-20 minutes, Im more inclined to notice and act upon my inner voice. Like Juliana says...practice, practice, practice ! ( she said this in the divination thread I believe )
Juliana..it sounds like water may be a conductor for you, have you ever tried scrying into a bowl of water ? I sometimes meditate while lying in a tub of very warm sea salt water with my crystals in both hands, Ive had very powerful experiences this way, I use water as a conduit also.
Anyway, this is all so fascinating , and its so nice to be able to share this way.
Hi Debbie! Yes I've done a few meditations in the tube. That is how I met my spirit guides in their animal form. I was also blessed by the Goddess too!! (yeah me) But I've never done scrying, heard about it, but never done it. Have you? Can you tell me how? Do you just use any ol' bowl? Special water? Tell me, tell me!
Hi Juliana, I have tried it and I actually like scrying with water. I just use a clear glass bowl and fill it with water from the tap, or water from a spring I visit once in awhile. I personally dont think it matters where the water comes from, I say a blessing over it anyway and then light a candle and have it sitting a little ways behind the bowl, I darken the room and focus on what ever it is that Im searching for..answers to certain questions, things that may be troubling me etc..and I just try to clear my mind and stare into the bowl.
Its like staring into a crystal ball, sometimes images will come to me, sometimes I just get messages from my higher self or guides. For me its a lot like meditating, only with my eyes open and using the water as a tool. Water has a calming effect for me which is maybe why I feel more drawn to this method. Some people use a black mirror for scrying, I have never tried that method though, it probably has the same outcome.
Scrying with a bowl of water really isn't much different than sitting next to a river or the sea and staring into the water, its a mind altering experience for me, sometimes when Im on a beach staring into the ocean, I feel as if Ive left my body, it feels as if Ive been "away" for quite some time and then I will kind of snap out of it..has that ever happened to you ?
see i have a problem with listening to the wrong part of myself...when i should listen to my heart i listen to my brain, when i listen to my brain i should listen to my heart and so on. but for me, what tends to happen is, i have a feeling somethings going to happen or i just "know" it, and then later the day or so, it happens. it's not a very common accurence, but it does happen. but the moments when i really feel powerful are when i'm on the local beach (which is really a bank of the local river) and it's stormy out, and the wind is howling and my hair is being blown all over the place but i can still breathe, and theres no sound but that of the wind and the river (and my music), it's a very ethereal feeling, like something inside of me is growing, kinda like that moment is my...home (i think that's the word i'm looking for). at moments like that, i feel powerful, more than any other time.
