I was the first one to take the poll, and I said "yes." I think we should have an official language so we can start bridging communication gaps. I think everyone in living in the US should learn the english language.

It is not the tax payers responsibilty to make sure someone understands everything that is going on. The effort has to come from both sides. This is compromising for the benefit of the whole country.

Communication barriers are very costly and inefficient.

I tend to agree.  Effective communication is paramount.  How do we go about ensuring that this gets implemented?  A lot of people who want to come to the US have little way of learning the English language, especially if they're from a poor country, so I understand that it's easier said than done.   [ send green star]
