I would like to request prayer for my friend Twenette's son, Jefferey, Jr.    His blood platelets are supposed to read 150,000 and they have dropped to 23,000.   The hospital in Louisiana won't take him in until his 'appointment' which I find mind boggling.    Jeffrey is 16 yrs old and has been sickly all his life.  They are going to run tests for leukemia, cancer, etc. when he goes in the hospital.   I ask God to help him in any way needed.   I am also praying that they will get the back pay from Social Security very soon so that they can use it to move back to Colorado and the healthcare system there.    I would also like to keep Twenette and her husband in prayer also.

thank you so much Kathryn and Meg for your prayer support.   I just heard that when they brought Jefferey to the hospital 2 days ago that his platelets had dropped to around 20,000 but that now they have started increasing in number.   So I am asking for continued prayer and thanking everyone in advance!

JoAnne, I will keep Frank in my prayers.  Thank you for sharing your prayer request with us. I do so believe in the power of prayer.

I also have a prayer request. A tornado just hit the town of Beaumont, Texas today. 30 miles from where I live. It tore apart a WalMart, Kohl's & Macy's. Some people were hurt, and Praise God, no fatalities. Cars were toppled over with people in them, etc... So, please pray for those that had to go through such a horrifying experience. Thank ya'll so much. Love, Kathryn

Marjorie, I will indeed pray for Betty G.   She is a friend of mine on Care2 and a very caring person.

JoAnne, I am praying for your Uncle Frank....may God touch him and heal him.

Kathryn, I am keeping those in prayer that went through the tornado in Beaumont and thanking God that there were no fatalities.  May God bring peace into their lives and help them recoup their losses.

I would like to request prayers for my son, Jerry.   He has typical symptoms of the flu although I'm not sure he has a fever.   He is cold, his bones ache, etc....he is trying to quit smoking yet he 'dips' tobacco about 5 times a day.  To me this is worse than smoking...I am much more worried about mouth cancer.   So in addition to asking prayer for him to get well, ask prayer that God will take the urge to smoke or chew from him.  He thinks he can do it on his own but I try explaining to him that he needs to lean on God.  Thank you everyone!

Prayer request September 10, 2009 12:14 PM

Would appreciate your assistance in the following prayer needs that I am submitting to CCF, they go like this:

A friend of mine is getting married December 12, 2009 and live out in Wisconsin, may the marriage be blessed by God and that they will remain close to God and his Son, Jesus Christ. The groom has two teen age children from his first marriage.  The first wife died of cancer.

Another friend lives in a nursing home in Harrisburg, PA with major medical conditions.  She is being moved to another floor in the nursing home due to health condition and medical attention.  Her name is Beth.

Another friend, Terry who lives near me, I haven't heard from her for quite a while, praying that she is not in any serious medical issues with her or her family.  May she continue to stay close to God in her daily life.

Praying that my Asthma does not become worse as fall and winter approaches. May chances in the apartment building that will make living here difficult= putting new elevators in starting in November and going on for about a year.  Praying that this venture will not take as long as they perdict.

Thanks for your prayers with these requests.

I just found out today that my landlord's only grandson who was 29 died in his sleep this past Sunday.  The family is taking it very hard.  There's no plausible cause for his death and they are waiting for the autopsy results now.  Please keep this family in your prayers.  They are a very close family and they've adopted us as their own, so we're feeling it also.  Thank y'all so much. Love, Kathryn

Dear friends, I need prayers for my mom.  I haven't spoken to my mom in 19 years and I just found out yesterday through my dad & sister that she had surgery on Wednesday.  Then they had to go back in for emergency surgery on Friday due to some internal bleeding.

My mom was 1 of the first 10 people in America to have gastric by pass surgery 35 years ago.  She's had some complications over the years, but the surgery she had on Wednesday was because she wasn't able to eat & keep food down.  I love my mom & I have forgiven her for things done in my childhood.  I'm not sure if she is a Christian or not, but I'm just not ready for her to pass just yet. Not until I'm able to see her & tell her face to face I love her & I've forgiven her.  Anyway... thank you for your prayers dear friends. Love, Kathryn

Dear Kathryn, I am praying for your mom to get healed and that you and she can reunite one day soon.   I don't know what happened nor to whom but God says we must forgive so I pray forgiveness is in the future for both of you and also that your mom knows the Lord as her Saviour.    If she doesn't I hope you might be the one to lead her.   May you both heal together in love and spirit.

prayer September 30, 2009 10:48 AM

Hello friends, I will be praying for everyone that is listed on the prayer request thread! The power of prayer is wonderful.  Please remember my daughter who has been very sick.  Her pedatrician put her on homebound where her teacher comes to the house.  For my 75 year old mother whose grandchilden and son that live near her have all come down with the swine flu.  She is very sickly, just fell and broke ribs and has Guillane Barre' which has left her partially paralyzed. Please pray that she doesn't get this illness and of course my father too ( he is older but not in as poor of health). Lastly there is me. I am trying to get my college to lay me off . They cut me down from 30 hrs to 7hrs a week ( and they expect me to volunteer 4-5 hours because there is so much work to do) and I can't make ends meet.  If they are kind enough to lay me off I will get unemployment benefits of which I have never received before.

I need prayer that God will give me the strength I need to request this and the right words to express myself professionally. Then I need guidance as to what direction I should go next.  Thank you so much my friends and sisters in Christ.  You are a blessing to me.

Hugs to you, Meg

Dear Meg...thank you for posting your prayer requests.   Your daughter is in my prayers that her health improves very soon.  How wonderful that her teacher is able to come to your home to teach her.  Do they know what is wrong with your daughter, Meg?

Prayers also that God will heal your mom and the others from the swine flu.   Did they take the shot?  I am so very leery of doing so.   I am so sorry that your mom fell and broke her ribs and that she has Guillame Barr Syndrome.   May the Lord mend her in every way and never cease praying for her recovery.   My mom had that same syndrome in the 80's and was paralyzed for a few years.   Thank the Lord she came out of it and was able to walk again.     I am praying also for your dad, that he doesn't get sick and for you with a resolution to your employment and/or unemployment problems.   I hope they will lay you off so that you can collect unemployment benefits as it is impossible to live off of 7 hours work per week.   I don't think they will, but should unemployment deny you benefits then by all means appeal their decision.   Once I had to fight 3-4 employers at the same time and I won!!!    Please don't hesitate to apply for food stamps either....you have worked and are deserving of receiving aid, so never feel ashamed.   So many people collect benefits fraudulently but your case is real and you and your daughter deserve it.    May the good Lord give you strength and courage to face whatever life hands you, Meg.   Remember, God will never leave you nor forsake you.

I have a prayer request today.  I just learned that the paper mill that my dad worked at & retired from will be closing by Spring. 1100 employees will be losing their job.  Franklin, Virginia will be so effected by this closure.  The paper mill is the only factory there and pretty much everyone has someone that works there.  Many different trades will be effected from this closure. From stores to loggers, to truck drivers, etc... Let's keep these folks in our prayers please for we all know how hard it is to find & keep a job nowadays. Thank you for your faithfulness to pray.

That is so sad, Kathryn.   A whole town could disappear and those poor families will become another statistic.   I will definitely keep those families in prayer.   How come the mill is closing?    What is becoming of our nation?
