I would like to request prayer for my friend Twenette's son, Jefferey, Jr. His blood platelets are supposed to read 150,000 and they have dropped to 23,000. The hospital in Louisiana won't take him in until his 'appointment' which I find mind boggling. Jeffrey is 16 yrs old and has been sickly all his life. They are going to run tests for leukemia, cancer, etc. when he goes in the hospital. I ask God to help him in any way needed. I am also praying that they will get the back pay from Social Security very soon so that they can use it to move back to Colorado and the healthcare system there. I would also like to keep Twenette and her husband in prayer also.
Vicky, I will keep Jeffrey & his family in prayer.
Jefferey, Jr. is in my thoughts and prayers.
thank you so much Kathryn and Meg for your prayer support. I just heard that when they brought Jefferey to the hospital 2 days ago that his platelets had dropped to around 20,000 but that now they have started increasing in number. So I am asking for continued prayer and thanking everyone in advance!
Please pray for my uncle who is more like a dad to me, he has early onset Alzheimer's. His name is Frank...Thank you
JoAnne, I will keep Frank in my prayers. Thank you for sharing your prayer request with us. I do so believe in the power of prayer.
I also have a prayer request. A tornado just hit the town of Beaumont, Texas today. 30 miles from where I live. It tore apart a WalMart, Kohl's & Macy's. Some people were hurt, and Praise God, no fatalities. Cars were toppled over with people in them, etc... So, please pray for those that had to go through such a horrifying experience. Thank ya'll so much. Love, Kathryn
Marjorie, I will indeed pray for Betty G. She is a friend of mine on Care2 and a very caring person.
JoAnne, I am praying for your Uncle Frank....may God touch him and heal him.
Kathryn, I am keeping those in prayer that went through the tornado in Beaumont and thanking God that there were no fatalities. May God bring peace into their lives and help them recoup their losses.
I would like to request prayers for my son, Jerry. He has typical symptoms of the flu although I'm not sure he has a fever. He is cold, his bones ache, etc....he is trying to quit smoking yet he 'dips' tobacco about 5 times a day. To me this is worse than smoking...I am much more worried about mouth cancer. So in addition to asking prayer for him to get well, ask prayer that God will take the urge to smoke or chew from him. He thinks he can do it on his own but I try explaining to him that he needs to lean on God. Thank you everyone!

Would appreciate your assistance in the following prayer needs that I am submitting to CCF, they go like this:
A friend of mine is getting married December 12, 2009 and live out in Wisconsin, may the marriage be blessed by God and that they will remain close to God and his Son, Jesus Christ. The groom has two teen age children from his first marriage. The first wife died of cancer.
Another friend lives in a nursing home in Harrisburg, PA with major medical conditions. She is being moved to another floor in the nursing home due to health condition and medical attention. Her name is Beth.
Another friend, Terry who lives near me, I haven't heard from her for quite a while, praying that she is not in any serious medical issues with her or her family. May she continue to stay close to God in her daily life.
Praying that my Asthma does not become worse as fall and winter approaches. May chances in the apartment building that will make living here difficult= putting new elevators in starting in November and going on for about a year. Praying that this venture will not take as long as they perdict.
Thanks for your prayers with these requests.
Kaye, posted 9-10-09
Kaye, I am keeping your friends in prayer and you as well. I hope your asthma does not flair up. I hope you hear from Terry soon.
I just found out today that my landlord's only grandson who was 29 died in his sleep this past Sunday. The family is taking it very hard. There's no plausible cause for his death and they are waiting for the autopsy results now. Please keep this family in your prayers. They are a very close family and they've adopted us as their own, so we're feeling it also. Thank y'all so much. Love, Kathryn
Kathryn, that is so very sad....I pray the young man was saved. I am praying for his family and friends; may the good Lord give them comfort.
Dear friends, I need prayers for my mom. I haven't spoken to my mom in 19 years and I just found out yesterday through my dad & sister that she had surgery on Wednesday. Then they had to go back in for emergency surgery on Friday due to some internal bleeding.
My mom was 1 of the first 10 people in America to have gastric by pass surgery 35 years ago. She's had some complications over the years, but the surgery she had on Wednesday was because she wasn't able to eat & keep food down. I love my mom & I have forgiven her for things done in my childhood. I'm not sure if she is a Christian or not, but I'm just not ready for her to pass just yet. Not until I'm able to see her & tell her face to face I love her & I've forgiven her. Anyway... thank you for your prayers dear friends. Love, Kathryn
Dear Kathryn, I am praying for your mom to get healed and that you and she can reunite one day soon. I don't know what happened nor to whom but God says we must forgive so I pray forgiveness is in the future for both of you and also that your mom knows the Lord as her Saviour. If she doesn't I hope you might be the one to lead her. May you both heal together in love and spirit.
Hello friends, I will be praying for everyone that is listed on the prayer request thread! The power of prayer is wonderful. Please remember my daughter who has been very sick. Her pedatrician put her on homebound where her teacher comes to the house. For my 75 year old mother whose grandchilden and son that live near her have all come down with the swine flu. She is very sickly, just fell and broke ribs and has Guillane Barre' which has left her partially paralyzed. Please pray that she doesn't get this illness and of course my father too ( he is older but not in as poor of health). Lastly there is me. I am trying to get my college to lay me off . They cut me down from 30 hrs to 7hrs a week ( and they expect me to volunteer 4-5 hours because there is so much work to do) and I can't make ends meet. If they are kind enough to lay me off I will get unemployment benefits of which I have never received before.
I need prayer that God will give me the strength I need to request this and the right words to express myself professionally. Then I need guidance as to what direction I should go next. Thank you so much my friends and sisters in Christ. You are a blessing to me.
Hugs to you, Meg
Dear Meg...thank you for posting your prayer requests. Your daughter is in my prayers that her health improves very soon. How wonderful that her teacher is able to come to your home to teach her. Do they know what is wrong with your daughter, Meg?
Prayers also that God will heal your mom and the others from the swine flu. Did they take the shot? I am so very leery of doing so. I am so sorry that your mom fell and broke her ribs and that she has Guillame Barr Syndrome. May the Lord mend her in every way and never cease praying for her recovery. My mom had that same syndrome in the 80's and was paralyzed for a few years. Thank the Lord she came out of it and was able to walk again. I am praying also for your dad, that he doesn't get sick and for you with a resolution to your employment and/or unemployment problems. I hope they will lay you off so that you can collect unemployment benefits as it is impossible to live off of 7 hours work per week. I don't think they will, but should unemployment deny you benefits then by all means appeal their decision. Once I had to fight 3-4 employers at the same time and I won!!! Please don't hesitate to apply for food stamps either....you have worked and are deserving of receiving aid, so never feel ashamed. So many people collect benefits fraudulently but your case is real and you and your daughter deserve it. May the good Lord give you strength and courage to face whatever life hands you, Meg. Remember, God will never leave you nor forsake you.

I have a prayer request today. I just learned that the paper mill that my dad worked at & retired from will be closing by Spring. 1100 employees will be losing their job. Franklin, Virginia will be so effected by this closure. The paper mill is the only factory there and pretty much everyone has someone that works there. Many different trades will be effected from this closure. From stores to loggers, to truck drivers, etc... Let's keep these folks in our prayers please for we all know how hard it is to find & keep a job nowadays. Thank you for your faithfulness to pray.
That is so sad, Kathryn. A whole town could disappear and those poor families will become another statistic. I will definitely keep those families in prayer. How come the mill is closing? What is becoming of our nation?
I would like to ask prayer for 2 friends of mine.
for: Danny, that his tests will come back negative for cancer and/or emphysema in his lung and that if he has to have his heart operated on that he will come through it okay.
for: Donna, I can't begin to tell you everything she is going through both physically, medically and mentally. She has been operated on for her back, neck and has cancer which may be able to be removed and she is very depressed over her situation and that her husband left her when she needed him most.
Could you update the requests of your friends, Vicky?
Let's continue to pray for our friends in Poland.
Thank you Nance for asking for an update. Well, Donna sounds better but I haven't visited her yet to see how her physical appearance is. My other friend says Donna is not as bad off as she says but I will see. Not sure if Danny has taken more tests or not...haven't heard from him lately so I'm assuming all is okay for now.
Nance, I don't watch the news much or read the papers so my head is in the sand most of the time....what has happened with Poland? No matter what it is I will pray for them.
hello please pray for my son Donald he was put in prison for 25L for a crime he did not do and i have been trying to get him help and bring him home for 10 years now it has been a long and hard battle for me,2 days ago project innocent called me and told me they are looking at my son case,Iam asking for prayers for them to take his case and if they do they will bring to light all the things that went wrong in his trial and would be able to get him a new trial, the Lord told me from the start to hold on to my faith and he would send us help so for 10 years I have stood on his word and have not lost faith that God would make this right, and this is the first thing that could help us has come out, so please pray for us that they will take our case and bring this nightmare to and end Thank you very much JoAnn.
When I first found my sweet Lord 22 years ago the first word from the Lord was Isaiah 40 31 and I have hung on to that for all these years so as I open this topic today and saw the pic and the word it was like Jesus was talking to me,so thank you Lily, you made my day..God bless JoAnn...
JoAnn, I am praying that all works out well in your son's favor. 10 yrs is a long time for something he didn't do. I think I emailed you last year with some groups that may be able to help your son. I'm not sure if the one who called you was one of the ones I sent or not but I pray they will be able to help. Please keep us updated on this situation.
I am asking prayer for the people, wildlife and gulf coast and other water ways that are affected by the horrible BP oil spill. If our government and BP had allowed us to utilize some of the solutions that were offered (and they were good ones) then the oil would have never reached inland. Everyone is suffering now with no end in sight! I still cannot figure out why they are dragging their feet.
I am requesting prayer for my mom and my sister-in-law Dawn. My mom is having trouble with her lip and is going in for tests in a couple of weeks and Dawn has a lump on her breast that she went in for tests today. Thank you!
Please continue your prayers for my mom. She has 80% blockage in her carotid artery and will go in to have it cleaned out. It is a relatively simple and safe operation but she is 82 years old and of course there are risks. I will keep you updated on the operation. Thank you for your prayers my friends. I pray God will send His angels to watch over her.
I know not by what methods rare, but this I know ~ God answers prayer. I know not when He sends the word that tells us fervent prayer is heard. I know it comes soon or late; therefore we need to pray and wait. I know not if the blessing sought will come in just the way I thought. I leave my prayers with Him alone, whose will is wiser than my own!
I have 2 prayer requests:
My mom is going to see the cardiologist tomorrow to find out about the operation on her carotid artery. I am very concerned (and she is too) whether to have it operated on or take her chances and not. Actually she has an 85% blockage. i am asking God to guide us with this decision. I will let you know what we decide.
I would like to ask prayer for Gary; his father just passed and he is experiencing guilt feelings about a few things. Let's pray for peace within his soul.
I wish to apologize to everyone here at CCF for not being here as often as possible, but due to different situations such as housing inspections, internet complications, health situations, have kept me quite busy.
On Tuesday, November 16th I will have right knee surgery which will be out-patient surgery. The bathroom towlet flooded twice which injuried my right knee!
On Thursday, November 18th HUD will be inspecting our apartments, if we do not pass this inspection we will lose our funding which assists us with our rent. We will be forced to find other housing program that we can afford.
Thank you all for praying with me regarding these two requests listed above.
May everyone have an enjoyable and safe Holiday Season.
Regards, Kaye Williams-Summers, Host of CCF.
I am so sorry Jill and Kaye that I am just now seeing your prayers....I thank you both. I tried to come here the other day with an update but had so much trouble posting in Care2. (What's new?) Jill, your graphic is lovely.
I and my brother Larry would appreciate everyone's prayers.
Will attempt to keep everyone updated, I am attempting to find my way down to South Carolina, but do talk with him by telephone.
Kaye, I am adding Larry to my prayer list. May God guide the doctors during Larry's operation and may the outcome be a good one. I am also praying that you can find the funds to get to South Carolina to be with him.
For a friend on care 2 who's fiance David is in a coma
I'm in a lot of pain everyday, but the last couple of days have been worse - would appreciate any prayers to help me stay strong.
Love to all of you.

Jenny, you are in my prayers....may God heal your pains and make you feel comfortable and pain free soon.
Lily, I am so sorry David didn't make it. Give my condolences to your friend. What happened to him?
Prayers being said for the many in our group who are sick and hurting. May God heal each of you.
Vicky I dont know much about the care2 friend, she only posts occasionally, but her fiance was in a coma.Thats all I know.
CYCLONE YASI: I'm sending my thoughts and prayers to everyone in northern Queensland, who are presently fighting for their lives - among them my sister, brother-in-law, and their 6 children. Fortunately they live on a hill, but the people on the foreshores of north Qld have had to evacuate.
Light a candle or say a prayer, if you have a mind to.
Jenny I am praying for you sister and her family and all the other people and animals in the wake of this terrible cyclone. May God surround them with protection and safety. Please keep us updated.
I am praying also for your health problems Jenny.Jesus, Lover of My Soul
Jesus, lover of my soul,
Let me to Thy bosom fly.
While the nearer waters roll,
While the tempest still is high!
Hide me, O my Savior, hide
for all my friends who need prayers,i'm with you. for all who are sick and who is having problems. all the countries that need help, my prayers go out to you. JILL
Thank you for your prayers, Jill! Fullmoon, I lit a candle for Norway.
And dear friends, I am cutting in from Mexico with Prayers and Love: Psalm 121 (NIV) of The Holy Bible: 1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. 3 He will not let your foot slip he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over you will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD watches over you the LORD is your shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD will keep you from all harm he will watch over your life; 8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Ugonna, thank you for the scripture; isn't it awesome to know that our God is always there beside us....guiding and protecting His children.
I am saying a prayer for a friend of some of us (Annie) that her little squirrel, Rocky will be safe from their neighbor and that Rocky will stay in his own yard and not go to someone else's house and eat their flowers.
That's beautiful, Jill!
I'd like to add another prayer request. It's for my brother, George. He is going through depression, medical and financial problems.
Vicky, I am praying for your brother George. I just ran through the prayer list and noticed you also asked for prayer concerning your son & mother. Has that relationship improved any? And how about the pastor's wife? Know that I do pray for you daily. I do believe in the power of prayer.
Ugonna, thank you so much for that uplifting scripture.
If I have missed anyone in particular, just know that I pray for each member here on Care2. God knows what each person's situation is. Love ya'll and be blessed always.
Pretty angel, Jill. Thanks for reopening this thread.
I have 3 prayer requests....1) pray for my brother, George...he is having health issues. 2) My friend, Karen...she had a stroke and it's affected her mobility and speech. Pray that she recovers. 3) My friend, Jerry...since Karen's sickness he is now basically homeless since she is in rehab and her mother doesn't want him staying there. I am trying to locate a room for him to rent.
That's very beautiful, Jill. Thank you.
UPDATE: Karen is doing better. Jerry said she is talking a little more and/or talking better. She is able to walk a little more with her walker/cane. Jerry, too, has a place to stay right now. But please continue to pray for them both. Jerry has health issues, too.
Please continue to pray for my brother, George. He is having bad headaches. He has other health issues as well.
Keep my son, Jerry in prayer. His OCD, bipolar and other health issues are kicking in and affecting him in a very negative way.
I'd like to ask prayer for my brother's dog, Noah. He is listless and losing weight and doesn't look good. Thank you.
This was taken 5 years ago.
Thank you, Jill. Very nice.
I would like prayer for me and my family. It seems we are at each other's throat more and more. I pray for peace within my family.
Please continue to keep my friend, Karen James in prayer; that she will recover her speech and motor skills from the stroke she had.
Beautiful prayer, Jill. I must share it!
I'm not sure who David is or what his prayer needs are. But I will pray in general for him.

Jill I have only just seen this post so I hope all went well at the hospital and that it is nothing serious
I'm just seeing this, too, Jill. I pray the tests come back okay...you're in my prayers.
the news isn't good. All my vessel have to be replaced. Its been 27years since my first open heart. the will be taking vessel around my breast area. they said they are better vessel and last longer. they won't block up as easy. some of it is good news. I have a meeting thursday with the doctors. they will let me know when I will have the open heart. I will let you know .
Jill I was hoping for good news, so sorry you are going to have to go through that again.
Will be thinking of you, surely they wont keep you waiting long for something that serious. Hope not anyway.
Jill, I wish the doctor's would have given you better news. It's good that your first one lasted 27 years. I'm glad you're getting to see the doctor soon. You are in my prayers.
Please keep my friend Danny in prayer. He and his dogs are travelling to Kentucky today. Because of his truck's transmission, he is having to take the back roads which will take him a much longer time to get there. He has Parkinson's disease so pray that they get there safely. Pray for me, too, as this is the first time we have been more than 10-12 miles apart for 20 years. He was my best friend (most of the time). It's like part of me has gone.
UPDATE: Danny made it to Kentucky okay.
Please keep Annie in prayer. She and Rich are having a rough time of it right now. His sickness and her trying to keep things together and take care of him. Let's ask prayer for strength for her and comfort for Rich.
I hope your operation went well, Jill and that you are having a good recovery. Pretty picture.
Thank you vicky Thank you for all your prayers. Not during too bad. Because of my age it will be longer. Rough Road. tell everyone I said Hi. I will talk to you later. Love you all. Jill
Jill! I'm so glad you stopped by and we figured you might be having a slow recovery. Please just take your time and heal before returning to the group. We miss you but don't want you to overdo yourself. You're still in everyone's prayers.
still recoving slowing after my open heart, the doctors said was beating too slow, so guess what i got pace maker. its suppose to raise the numbers and not drop low. so far everything is going pretty good. sometimes i feel like an old car, one things go wrong and something else pops. I hope that is all the popping up. thanksfor all you thoughts and prayers. I love you all. Jill
Hi Jill I seemed to have missed this thread yesterday.
So glad you dropped in and that you are improving after that nasty op.
Take care and hope to see you here more often when you are up to it Hugs x
Jill, thank you for stopping in and giving us an update. I hope you will feel a lot better soon and we can't wait to see your beautiful pictures again after you recuperate. Does it feel different with a pacemaker in?
Please keep my friend Kay in prayer. She is handicapped and when her 8 yr old cat named, Angel died a month ago she was all alone. A couple of weeks later a lady gave her a kitten which she named Gracie and fell in love with her. Now her landlord is insisting she get her vaccinated immediately and she doesn't have the money right now. Not only that but when she had to go to the hospital the cat cried all night while she was gone and a neighbor complained. Plus one of her aides doesn't care for the cat. So she returned the kitten to the original owner and Kay is so upset and crying. She has no friends and is in a wheelchair and my heart is breaking for her. I would have helped her with the vet bill but if the aide is mean to the kitty or it cries if she goes to the hospital and she has to get rid of it then she's back to square one minus the money she would spend on the vet. Pray that a solution will be found and/or that she will be comforted. Thank you.
UPDATE: Kay was able to get another cat last night (she was not able to get her kitty back). This new cat is older (6 yrs) and is gray. I helped her name it...it is called Willow.
PRAYER PLEASE: For my former pastor's wife, Betty. She is awaiting a liver transplant and is not doing well.
UPDATE AGAIN: I just talked to Kay and she had to give the cat back. She said it was calm the first night but the day it was like a she devil. Jumping up the curtains, scratching Kay...she said she couldn't even look at the cat as she was scared of it.
Oh dear what a shame I wonder why the cat was like that
Did it come from an animal shelter? they usually know a cats temperment in them before letting them go to homes.
Not nice having neighbours like that.
In a way a bit like my neighbour complaining about the pigeons so I am no longer able to feed them or squirrels.
I cannot see how a cat miowing affects anyone cant be that loud.
some people are so mean.
Is this Kay who started the group?
Yes, it is the same Kay. I haven't talked to her in a couple of days so I'm not sure if she got another kitten/cat or not. I don't believe it was from a shelter.
Keep my son, Jerry in prayer. He has an infection that could turn into sepsis but I cannot get him to go to a doctor or the hospital.
Please keep my 94 yr old neighbor, Jean in prayer; she fell today and was disoriented. I think she may have cracked a rib but her daughter thinks she just hurt her arm.
