CELESTINE PROPHECY

A tribe for those who want to connect and reflect on the works of the Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. Discussions of the insights and how they influence your life are encouraged.

Books in the series:
"Celestine Prophecy"
"The Tenth Insight: Holding the Vision"
"Secret of Shambhala: Search of the Eleventh Insight"

1.A Critical Mass
A new spiritual awakening is occurring in human culture, an awakening brought about by a critical mass of individuals who experience their lives as a spiritual unfolding, a journey in which we are led forward by mysterious coincidences.

2. The Longer Now
This awakening represents the creation of a new, more complete worldview, which replaces a five-hundred-year-old preoccupation with secular survival and comfort. While this technological preoccupation was an important step, our awakening to life's coincidences is opening us up to the real purpose of human life on this planet, and the real nature of our universe.

3. A Matter of Energy
We now experience that we live not in a material universe, but in a universe of dynamic energy. Everything extant is a field of sacred energy that we can sense and intuit. Moreover, we humans can project our energy by focusing our attention in the desired direction...where attention goes, energy flows...influencing other energy systems and increasing the pace of coincidences in our lives.

4. The Struggle for Power
Too often humans cut themselves off from the greater source of this energy and so feel weak and insecure. To gain energy we tend to manipulate or force others to give us attention and thus energy. When we successfully dominate others in this way, we feel more powerful, but they are left weakened and often fight back. Competition for scarce, human energy is the cause of all conflict between people.

5. The Message of the Mystics
Insecurity and violence ends when we experience an inner connection with divine energy within, a connection described by mystics of all traditions. A sense of lightness - buoyancy - along with the constant sensation of love are measures of this connection. If these measures are present, the connection is real. If not, it is only pretended.

6. Clearing the Past
The more we stay connected, the more we are acutely aware of those times when we lose connection, usually when we are under stress. In these times, we can see our own particular way of stealing energy from others. Once our manipulations are brought to personal awareness, our connection becomes more constant and we can discover our own growth path in life, and our spiritual mission - the personal way we can contribute to the world.

7. Engaging the Flow
Knowing our personal mission further enhances the flow of mysterious coincidences as we are guided toward our destinies. First we have a question; then dreams, daydreams, and intuitions lead us towards the answers, which usually are synchronistically provided by the wisdom of another human being.
8. The Interpersonal Ethic
We can increase the frequency of guiding coincidences by uplifting every person that comes into our lives. Care must be taken not to lose our inner connection in romantic relationships. Uplifting others is especially effective in groups where each member can feel energy of all the others. With children it is extremely important for their early security and growth. By seeing the beauty in every face, we lift others into their wisest self, and increase the chances of hearing a synchronistic message.

9. The Emerging Culture
As we all evolve toward the best completion of our spiritual missions, the technological means of survival will be fully automated as humans focus instead on synchronistic growth. Such growth will move humans into higher energy states, ultimately transforming our bodies into spiritual form and uniting this dimension of existence with the after-life dimension, ending the cycle of birth and death

10. Holding the Vision
The Tenth Insight is the realization that throughout history human beings have been unconsciously struggling to implement this lived spirituality on Earth. Each of us comes here on assignment, and as we pull this understanding into consciousness, we can remember a fuller birth vision of what we wanted to accomplish with our lives. Further we can remember a common world vision of how we will all work together to create a new spiritual culture. We know that our challenge is to hold this vision with intention and prayer everyday.

11. Extending Prayer Fields
The Eleventh Insight is the precise method through which we hold the vision. For centuries, religious scriptures, poems, and philosophies have pointed to a latent power of mind within all of us that mysteriously helps to affect what occurs in the future. It has been called faith power, positive thinking, and the power of prayer. We are now taking this power seriously enough to bring a fuller knowledge of it into public awareness. We are finding that this prayer power is a field of intention, which moves out from us and can be extended and strengthened, especially when we connect with others in a common vision. This is the power through which we hold the vision of a spiritual world and build the energy in ourselves and in others to make this vision a reality.

The 12th Insight is yet to be released . . .

The Nine Insights - 09/24/97

Originally posted as INSIGHT.ASC on 10/30/94 on the KeelyNet BBS, inspired by the book 'The Celestine Prophecy' by James Redfield, shared through the courtesy of Steve Gantt.
I would like to thank Steve Gantt of Houston for sending me a copy of this MOST excellent book. It has apparently been on the best seller list for quite awhile, yet because many of us here on KeelyNet are very focused as to our interests, we don't normally pay much attention to 'non-relevant' topics such as fiction or what the general public is interested in.

You can't go wrong by reading this book. It ties in so many observations about life and many of the things we here at KeelyNet discuss. I could not put the book down without great difficulty because it continually draws you on to find out what the next Insight is. Because of the necessity of detailing the insights, I'd been putting it off, but with the advent of Mr. Redfield on the Oprah show, I was spurred to get it online in a file form.

Once the book was read in its entirety, there was never any question that the 9 Insights needed to be collected into a file with as much backup information as possible. If this file inspires you in the least, please buy the book, it is a worthy addition to any library. I thought it would have been handy if an appendix was included in the book with these 9 insights already elucidated, but since there was not, here it is.

The Celestine Prophecy IS A NOVEL about an ancient Peruvian manuscript containing 9 Insights to help you achieve a fulfilling life. It predicts a massive transformation in human society predicted to take place in the last decades of the 20th century.

Please note the book is not factual as many of the New Agers have been so upset about. The point however, is that the information is inspiring, uplifting and useful in our daily lives and for that, we are grateful to Mr. Redfield for putting it all together.

The following text consists of paraphrased comments from the Oprah show of Friday, October 28th, the rest is extrapolated from the book in the form of Insights.
The main message of the book according to Mr. Redfield was to inspire people to get in touch with the most exciting part about life. That is, watching the mysterious coincidences happen that lead us toward a particular destiny and in believing that our lives are going somewhere that will help to make the world a better place.

We are learning to take notice of the synchronicities of life and to get the messages that are being given as direction to us.

The argument revolves around two basic premises.

  • One is that everything happens for a reason and thus there are no accidents.
  • The second is based on a dynamic free will which does not allow for pre-destination.

Closer to the present understanding of many people is that the dynamic free will does allow us to make choices when offered infinite possibilities. Were everything pre-destined, we would not have those choices.

We have all the power we could ever use or want. Instead of realizing this, we continually try to get power from others.

No matter what god you believe in, that god would not get hung up on the name that it was called. There are multiple paths to achieve the same end result.

All of these new books offer 'seasonings' to make God palatable to the World. (referenced as from Matthew, fourth chapter)

If you feel connected to something other than yourself, you are becoming a part of a greater purpose and recognizing that you have a part to play.

Each coincidence is a test. You can't learn until you pass the test. If you don't get it the first time, you get successive opportunities, each with a firmer influence. Each time is a louder wake up call. It is up to each of us to recognize when the coincidence occurs and try to find the message that is being communicated to us.

You are where you are in life because of what you believe and what you have acted on. Our thoughts and actions control our lives and can be altered to change our lives.

Since you can't practically affect the entire world, you should affect the world on a more personal basis, through the people you touch and the people who touch you. Service to others is one way of making a difference, and that service can take many forms. There are infinite choices you can make in your own life to influence events to flow in a positive, evolving direction.

We must understand that all the day to day occurrences that we experience happen for a reason. We are beginning to see messages in the happenings around us which lead us to a higher meaning.

We are all messengers for each other and these messages come in the form of coincidences. It is up to each of us to ferret out the message when it presents itself. The message usually gets our attention in the form of a coincidence. Sometimes, the message won't be so obvious, other times, it will be crystal clear.

Take advantage of the synchronicity to get the answers to your questions. You will know truth and guidance when it resonates with your inner feelings and intuitions.

It's not enough to simply recognize coincidences when they occur, but to try to get the message that is offering itself to you.

Events happen to wake people up to a hidden meaning. When everybody wakes up and has the common agreement that we would not glamorize negative things, it then happens less often or to lesser degrees.

As soon as we take personal responsibility, everything seems to improve. When enough people consciously agree, that is when things change.

The more people move in a spiritual direction, the more things will change. We communicate by presenting a model to others, if it is a positive model, it then becomes contagious and produces positive changes. The opposite holds true also, when we present negative role models, others begin to copy that role model and we create our own problems by devolving. Children are especially sensitive in their formative years to the models presented to them.

We need to begin expecting miracles that will reveal our true mission in life. If we stay true to our life mission and do the inner work necessary to allow us to get out of our own way, opportunities will present themselves to help you with your problems.

Eastern and Western philosophies can be integrated into a higher spiritual truth. Yes, the West is correct in maintaining that life is about progress, about always trying to evolve to something higher and better than what existed before.

But, so too is the East correct in teaching that we must let go of the control of our ego. Logic alone will not provide the answer, instead, we must seek a higher consciousness, an inner connection with God, guided by the coincidences and synchronicities which present themselves to us every day.

The Nine Insights
(from the Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield)
What follows are extrapolations and direct quotes from the book.

Insight #1

The first insight occurs when we become conscious of the coincidences in our lives and that some other process is operating. It manifests as a profound sense of restlessness which leads people to take a 'me-first' and demanding attitude.

Once we reach a certain critical mass, the entire culture will begin to take these coincidences more seriously. Chance coincidences are meant to happen. Recognizing and following them will start you on your path to your spiritual truth.

The coincidences take the form of a series of events which point to a higher path. Each is a message leading us to a grander awareness. There is a spiritual program in operation. These coincidences are leading us to our spiritual destiny. Once you become aware of these coinincedences, you will note they happen more often. We have been pooh-poohing miraculous or chance happenings as nothing to seriously consider or as anything that could remotely have an intended purpose or provide a sense of direction.

2nd Insight

The 2nd insight puts our current awareness into a longer historical perspective for the purpose of attaining a new approach to Spirituality. It teaches us that we should live our beliefs rather than talk about them. These beliefs are communicated by actions that we take in our own lives which project a model to others.

Historically, mankind has been through periods which are controlled by various beliefs and attitudes. For example, during the Middle Ages reality was defined by the Christian Church. Because of the church influence, each person was to choose between good and evil as guided by interpretation of the scriptures by those most qualified to do so, i.e. the priests of the Church. Since the common man was not qualified to make such an interpretation, he had to rely exclusively on those given by the Church.

Every aspect of the medieval world was defined in other-worldly terms, which was interpreted by the representatives of the church. As the priesthood began to fall apart through abuse of power and violations of their oaths to god and church, rebellion grew among the populace.

Factions and splinter groups developed their own interpretation of the scriptures. The rebellion was partly due to disgust with the actions of the established priesthood and partly because the people felt they should have access to the scriptures and be allowed to form their own personal interpretations without the need of any middlemen.

As the nature of the world was explored, science developed, resulting in an ever increasing quest for knowledge and understanding of our universe and its properties. Our questions regarding God and the meaning of life had not been answered, so we sent out explorers to report back on what they found as a means of keeping us busy.

As mankind progressed, mechanization and technology led to higher and higher levels of consumerism, thereby leading us away from our age old quest for the spiritual meaning of life.

The purpose of the 2nd insight is to extend our consciousness of historical time to enable us to see the progression of humankind back to its quest for spirituality and away from our current preoccupation with economic security. Once we come to realize this as a natural and inevitable progression, we can then take steps to help the process along.

3rd Insight

It describes a new understanding of the physical world, teaching us how to perceive what was formerly an invisible energy. This energy is what pervades and sustains the universe. It is malleable to human intention and expectation and can be consciously caused to flow out into the world and affect other energy systems. Interactions between living systems, including humans, involves a blending, depletion or absorption of this energy, depending on the situation.

The physical world is actually a vast system of energy. The universe is energy which responds to our expectations, since people are part of the universe, when we have a question, people will show up who have the answer we seek. Sometimes it might not be the complete answer to your question, but it will provide a part.

Perception of this energy is through an enhanced, heightened sensitivity to beauty. Beauty is on the same wavelength as this heretofore invisible energy. (aura and subtle energy viewing techniques would help us to learn to percieve and consciously manipulate these energy flows, see AURAVIEW.ZIP on KeelyNet.....Vanguard Sciences)

How do you recognize when someone has a message for you? Sudden, spontaneous eye contact or a sense or recognition indicates the two people involved should talk. Such recognition indicates that person is in a similar 'thought group' as yourself and that one or both of you have information which needs to be exchanged. You should open up to communication by overcoming any reservations or shyness that might prevent you from approaching the person.

4th Insight

The 4th insight points out that for a long time, we humans have been unconsciously competing for the only part of this energy we have been open to; that part that flows between people. Conflict occurs when humans feel the need to control and dominate one another.

When we control another human, we absorb their energy, leading to a sense of gratification and motivation to continue the practice. We thus become 'addicted' to the feeling and will get progressively more demanding and out of control in our efforts to absorb ever more energy from our interactions with others.

5th Insight

The 5th insight deals with how we don't have to steal energy from others but instead can absorb energy directly from the universe if only we can open up to it.

The universe and our local environment is rich with energy which we can learn to sense and become a part of. Once this insight is understood, we no longer have the need to engage in situations which attempt to dominate or create conflict with others.

Recognizing that such vast stores of energy are ours to freely use will help mankind to eliminate the many tensions and stresses that arise from interactions with others who drain energy.

6th Insight

The 6th insight deals with 'Control Dramas', which are ways we have learned to get energy flowing in our direction. They then become programmed into our subconscious as patterns to be repeated over and over again because they work to get control of a situation, dominate it and pull power from others into you.

Childhood traumas block our ability to fully experience the mystical. All humans tend toward one of four "control dramas." Intimidators, Interrogators, Aloof people and Poor-Me's.

We all fit into one category or another. One control drama is dominant but you will use whichever you need at the moment to feel more secure, tending to repeat the category which works best for you.

Once you learn to recognize the control drama currently in place, you can sidestep it to avoid conflict and the associated draining of energy from your participation.

Energy is stolen from you when you engage in another person's control drama. We all do it subconsciously when we feel the need. Covert manipulations for energy cannot exist if you bring them to consciousness by pointing them out. Such a revealing causes both people to become more real and honest.

Since control dramas are instilled in us in reaction to the control dramas instilled in our parents by their parents, we must seek out why we act as we do, reintepret the experience from a more evolved and spiritual point of view and discover who we really are. Once we accomplish this, the control drama dissolves away and our real lives take off.

It should be pointed out that control dramas can also be created as a defense mechanism for any situation which removes energy from the child. Thus, the parents are not always the source of the control drama.

7th Insight

The 7th insight deals with the process of consciously evolving yourself, staying alert to every coincidence, every answer the universe provides for you. Sometimes, when things have a special meaning, they jump out at you, entering your consciousness in a forceful way, coming to you as guidance.

It also deals with the interpretation of dreams. Compare the dream story to your life. Bad dreams have the most important messages since they act as warnings of things that are probable but can be avoided by recognizing the message from the dream. We are also guided by our thoughts and daydreams. (Does this mean that if you learn to consciously control your dreams, you can, as the Yogis' and Hunas say, influence your destiny?...>>> Jerry)

When a thought comes, we must ask why? How does it relate to you as seen from the position of an observer. When we assume the observer position, it places us IN THE FLOW of evolution, allowing us an opportunity to influence it to our benefit.

The method of overcoming fear images is to substitute a good outcome in place of the bad. Eventually, negative images will almost never happen. When they occur thereafter, they have particularly serious meanings and their message should be dealt with accordingly.

8th Insight

The 8th insight describes how we can aid others as they bring us the answers we seek. (This follows from the 3rd Insight where all energy is interconnected, including through people, so when you seek an answer, the spiderweb of energy will resonate with another who has your answer and call them to you to provide that answer....>>> Jerry)

It also describes a whole new ethic governing the way humans should treat each other in order to facilitate everyone's evolution. Energy can be used in a new way when relating to people in general, particularly with how we deal with children. Children need our energy on a constant basis, without condition.

The worst thing you can do is to drain energy from a child while correcting them. Control dramas are then created by the child to counter the loss of energy. Children should be included in conversations and not spoken of as if they are not present or in the third person. You should also never take responsiblity for more children than you can devote your full attention to. This cancels out the need on the childs part to compete with other children for the attention of the adult.

Questions from a child should be answered with the utmost seriousness, avoiding fanciful answers which can confuse the child or build mistrust. Find a way to tell the child the truth in terms they can understand.

Addiction to an opposite sex can pull energy from us because we have yet to access this opposite sex energy in ourselves. When we first begin to evolve, we automatically begin to receive our opposite-sex energy as it comes in naturally from the universe. However, another person can come along who provides this energy and who can unknowingly cut us off from the universal source, thereby making us addicted TO THEM as our primary source.

You must learn to recognize when a control dramas is in place, break through or sidestep them and focus on providing energy to the person who feels in need. When the energy is provided through an alternate route (the universe or environment) or exchanged in a mutually beneficial fashion between the two people, a comfort zone is established which fulfills the needs of both persons.

Interaction in group settings is also a part of the 8th Insight. In such group meetings, some people feel self-conscious or shy and don't participate as easily as others. As the group members talk, new ideas surface one at a time. If the group is aware of what is happening around them, they can sensitize themselves to feel who is about to speak with the next most powerful idea.

By consciously focusing their energies on this person, they will help to bring out the idea with the greatest clarity. This technique is used to allow everyone to participate fully. One must be aware that the group energy focus can instill a good feeling in the current speaker, who continues to speak after the idea has been expressed, thereby monopolizing the conversation which ends up sapping the group energies.

The idea is to add to the energy of each member of the group by projecting your own energy and not to become so addicted to the 'rush' of energy as to monopolize and dominate the group interaction. Share the energy.

9th Insight

The 9th insight deals with where humans are going with this new evolutionary process as a direct result of consciously directed evolution. Old trees have significant stores of energy that create high energy zones of great beauty and spiritual strength. As we evolve, we will voluntarily decrease our population to allow the growth and culturing of these old tree regions.

It predicts the development of totally automatic support systems to sustain and nourish human life. Currency will not be needed and intuition will be the guide for the actions in each persons life, thus establishing a harmonious balance in everyone's lives.

Our sense of purpose will be satisfied by the thrill of being able to influence our own evolution. Mankind is on this planet to learn to consciously evolve. It further predicts that as whole groups of people continue to increase their vibrations, they will reach a point where they will simply disappear from the perceptions of those on the lower vibrations.

Brilliant people talk about ideas,
average people talk about things,
small people talk about each other.

You have ONLY ONE THING TO DO
with your life from this day forward,
and that is, to decide what you want to do
with the time you have left.

A Critical Mass: The Coincidences That Shape Our Lives
2 years ago

The Mystery Begins

In The Celestine Prophecy the main character has an unexpected meeting with an old friend jusst at the moment in his life when he is feeling disenchanted and thinking about changing directions.  Charlene, newly arrived from a trip to Peru, where an ancient Manuscript has been discovered, is able to shed some light on the cause of his restlessness.  Our character, who remains nameless, is introduced to the First Insight: becoming conscious of the coincidences working in his life.  Skeptical of the idea of a Manuscript explaining the secret of human existence, he is nevertheless intrigued by the mystery.  That night, after returning home, he has a ddream about the nature of coincidences and how they always involve the appearance of a person with information.  Buoyed by his inceasing interest, he books a flight to Peru.

The First Insight

Slowly, with little fanfare, a global transformation is taking place.  As described in the ancient teachings of the Manuscript found in the Celestine ruins, the first sign that we are awakening to this deep inner call is a profound sense of restlessness.  This restlessness may be described as dissatisfaction (even after reaching goals), vague uneasiness, or a sense that something is missing.  Once in a while a chance event surprises and intrigues us.  It's as if some higher purpose is being revealed, and for a moment we feel connected to a mystery that nevertheless eludes our grasp.  The combination of inner searching ("There must be more to life") and an occasional cosmic jostle ("Wow! What a strange coincidence.  I wonder what that meant?")  is a powerful process.  Mysterious and exciting, coincidences are purposeful in moving us forward in our destiny.  They make us feel more alive, as if there is some greater plan at work.  As more and more of us (critical mass) become conscious of this mysterious movement of the universe in our individual lives, the more quickly will we discover the nature of human existence.  If we open our minds and hearts, we will be part of the evolution of a new spirituality.

What is Coincidence?

The First Insight in The Celestine Prophecy tends to capture our attention and fire our imagination because it taps into what our mythic reality has always taught - that there is a Golden Key, magical stranger, a meaningful dream, or an unexpected clue that appears to guide us  effortlessly to the treasure or opportunity that we seek.  Swiss psychologist, Carl Jung, called it the archetype of "magical effect" and claimed that it was a universal trait in humans.  Recognizing important rule that coincidence plays in moving our lives along takes us back to the instincts of the alert, poised hunter praying for the emergence of quarry, and the deeply attuned receptive state of a powerful shaman or medicine woman.  Coincidences are the stuff of stories by firelight, and laughing memories at weddings, and tales of inordinate success and sublime irony.  Life stories are studded by the mysterious by-products of chance meetings, missed trains, books opening to a significant passage, ajar doors, overheard conversations, a meeting of the eyes across a crowded room.  Most of literature and theater wouldn't exist without such premises as two people meeting accidentially in a corridor or while waiting to board a ferry to Hong Kong.  Much of the sometimes higgledy-piggledy nature of employment resumes can be explained by the effect of coincidental job opportunities that were not part of a career plan.  For example, Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, the famous expert on death and dying, describes in Women of Power (by Laurel King) a turning point while workiing in a residency with Dr. Sydney Margolin: "... one day, while I was putting together a polygraph machine, he came in and said he had to go somewhere and I would have to take over his lectures.  This was like replacing God!  I died a thousand deaths...  He said (the lecture) had to be about psychiatry, but I could pick anys subject.  I went to the library to see if there was anything written on death and dying because I thought the students really needed to know about it."  Perhaps her choice of subject was unknowingly shaped by her early experiences in war relief in Europe, from which she still carries the images of those who perished in the death camps.  Or perhaps this was a point of divine intervention.  Whatever guided her choice of subject that day, Kubler-Ross's initial lecture on death and dying started a chain of events that changed the direction of her life and opened up what turned out to be a life's mission.  The First Insight has us start at the beginning, at that very point of convergence where life's mystery stares back at us, outside our logical expectations and experience.  Becoming conscious of the reality of coincidences and aware of their message and meaining is the first step to evolving consciously and more quickly.  When was the last time you experienced someting out of the ordinary?  Perhaps this morniing you were thiniking about someone and then got a phone call from that person.  how many times have you said, "I was just thinking about you?"  Was there a significant message from this person?  Did you consider why this coincidence might have happened?  What followed it?  We tend to take for granted may of the subtle, ordinary chance occurences, and often it is only the really startly events that make us shake our head in wonderment.

As the Manuscript predicted, the notion of seeing coincidences as more than superficially interesting began to emerge as psychology revealed the existence of the unconscious.  At about the same time that Einstein was discovering that space and time are reltive to a point of reference and not absolute concepts, another great pioneer, Swiss psychologist Carl Jung, was giving serious study to the idea of "meaningful coincidences," and his work has sparked significant inquiries in the past three decades.  He called this phenomenon synchronicity and believed that it is as natural a connecting principle as cause and effect.  With synchronicity, however, we are not able to immediately see the causal link.  Nevertheless, coincidence seems to be a primary way that the universe evolves, and many of us have felt this effect in our own lives.  Recognizing the importance of coincidence lays the groundwork for the remaining Insights, which inform uss that the universe responds to our consciousness and expectations - creating the chance opportunities to move us along.  With the awareness of coincidence, we are attuning ourselves to the mystery of the underlying principle of order in the universe.  As Jung said, "Synchronicity suggests that there is a interconnection or unity of causally unrelate events," and thus postulates a unitary aspect of being.  People sometimes wonder if a coincidence is a random event that serves to awaken them, or if it is a response to an unconscious question.  Before one has grasped the full extent of the First Insight, a coincidence seems to be an amusing or interesting diversion from "real life".  Once we have understoo that evolution often moves forward by leaps of transcausal events, the First Insight allows us to look more seriously for the hidden answer or meaning.  By the time we have learned to keep our current questions in the forefront of awareness, and to ask the right questions, then we know that a coincidence is a response to the archetypal movement toward growth deep within the psyche.  Jung, fascinated by the phenomenon he observed repeatedly in patients, named it synchronicity.  According to Ira Progoff, who interpreted and popularized much of Jung's thinking on the subject, synchronicity might seem to happen as follows:  Imagine two women, Claire and Danielle, who have agreed to meet to discuss a workshop on intuition.  Claire invites Danielle to come to her house at ten in the morning.  Claire, on her own path of cause and effect, gets up, takes a shower, makes coffee, put out pencil and paper, and waits for Danielle to knock on the door.  Danielle, on her own path of cause and effect, gets up, dresses, gets in the car, follows Claire's directions, parks, and knocks on Claire's door.  So far, they are on parallel tracks where there is a past, present, and a future for each of them.  In the course of their planning session, the phone rings.  It's Bill, who says he just read a great book on psychic healing and wanted to tell Claire about it.  "How odd you called.  Danielle is here, and we're just planning our workshop on intuition," exclaims Claire, feeling energized with the mysterious interplay of events.  Bill, who also knows Danielle, tells Claire to say hi and her and hangs up.  Danielle, eyes wide, remarks to Claire, "How weird.  Just as you got up to answer the phone, Bill's face came into my mind."  Both women feel excited by the mysterious coincidence.  According to Jung's theories, Danielle's and Claire's life paths were two vertical tracks of events through which Bill's call traverse across time, or horizontally.  Bill's call became meaningful because the women had been activated by a common inner archetype - in this case, perhaps, the archetype of the teacher gathering information, since their intent was to plan their workshop.  In Jung's thinking, at the moment of coincidental events, there appears to be a change in the balance of psychic energy present in the uncounscious and the conscious ara.  Like balancing on a seesaw, the coincidence lowers for an instant the attention of the conscous psychic energy, pushing the uncounscious material up from the primal depths.  This psychic movement is perhaps similar to a galvanizing shock, making Claire and Danielle feel as if something exciting had happened.  They suddenly feel more alive.

The Celestine Prophecy w/ Mr AND Mrs James Redfield

This was a rare moment with both the suthor of _The Celestine Prophecy_, James Redfield and his wife, Sally. Almost like Cinderella getting a final chance to try on the magic shoe, I got a chance to take a few moments to interview James Redfield and then happily his wife. We went far down the rabbit hole hitting a topic especially close to me because of my interest in mediumship and consciousness beyond death which was a touching and moving moment as Sally recounted the difficulties of producing a movie and her grandmother's presense in this life and beyond.

TY Jennie, for all these very interesting videos. When
I first read Redfield some 10 years ago (the Celestine...)
the book had a tremendous effect on me. This was particularly true as I experienced some of the insights first hand directly before reading about them in the book (syncronicities, hightened awareness etc). Quite an experience, at the time.

Jung said, when he was given one of the books in the Naq Hammadi library (the Gnostic/Coptic library found in Egypt some 70 years ago) as a gift from his collegues and staff, something like - '...the things I've learned and experienced (re. syncronicities, the collective conscious/book of life) ... THEY (the ancient gnostics) KNEW already then (around 50 - 300 a.d.).

Jungs awareness/knowledge of the collective conscoius, syncronicities and more were, according to his own mouth, based to a large extent on revelations received by him (first hand knowledge given to him from the Devine) ...gnosis - 'I know'...

Thanks again/LaL

The Law of Attraction, Synchronicity & the Spiritual Journey
1 year ago

A section of a talk at London's Swedenborg hall. I discuss the distinction between the mundane versus the mystical Law of Attraction. I also talk about Synchronicity and describe some uncanny experiences that I had personally. Then I explore the relationship between the Law of Attraction and the mystical journey to union with God, highlighting parallels and talk about Tantra and Tantric practice as being akin to the Law of Attraction.

'The Celestine Vision'

The awakening I have illustrated in the Celestine novels has extended the reach of our consciousness from a tribal to national, to a planetary and cosmic outlook, breaking free from a world view that for centuries pushed the mysterious from our lives. Acting on the feeling that something has always been missing in life, humanity in now shaking off the illusion that we live in a dead, material universe.

We are opening again to the evidence for a transcendent and divine presence behind our existence, a divinity that is operating daily in our lives. And we're doing so though a series of numinous Insights, each building on the ones proceeding.

Most important in this awakening is what I have called the First Insight: our developing perception in our lives of meaningful coincidences, a phenomenon Swiss psychologist Carl Jung called "synchronicity." Such moments always seem to bring us new information, or a sudden opportunity, that, when we review it deeply, always seems to be beyond chance, as though the events were somehow destined to occur in our lives. Biographies are full of such events.

My favorite example occurred in the life of Abraham Lincoln. As a young man, he wanted very much to enter law and politics, yet at first it seemed he had no opportunity to pursue this vision in the small farm village of his youth. Then one day a peddler, down on his luck, offered to sell the young Abe an old barrel of dry goods for a dollar. Something told him to take the deal and at the bottom of the container he found a full set of current law books. He studied these books, and went on to complete his remarkable destiny.

Such events, when they happen to us personally, always give us a sense of unfolding purpose, and inject in our lives the sense that we are helped and guided. What's more, we are understanding now that this flow of destiny is always there, whether experienced for the first time, or rediscovered after being sucked back into the banal life of everyday struggle for a time. Age has no relevance here. The key is to grab hold of this awareness whenever you can and not let go. You have a destiny that is divinely intended and reflected in your own sense of what most inspires you. And it's always waiting to open up for us.

The other Insights build on the first because they progressively school us on how to stay in this flow of synchronicity. They give us evidence of where we are headed. The Second through the Fourth are insights that orient us more into the true track of history from this perspective and give us a larger view of this awakening, so that we can take this new consciousness seriously.

The Fifth can be seen as the engine of our connection with the source of this personal evolution, a self that is anchored in a divine guidance, because it steers us to the real experience of that connection, and feels like a higher divine part of ourselves suddenly looking through our eyes. We have the sense that we are becoming more of who we really are, complete with an ongoing intuition that provides clarity and day-to-day direction.

Be cautious about theories that say we can manifest anything we want. That's true, but if our manifestation comes from strictly an ego outlook instead of a higher consciousness of personal mission, things can get rocky. All of us, and I mean all, by virtue of growing up spiritually lost, have a personal way of distracting ourselves from our destiny -- you know, a way of keeping busy with some obsessive thought pattern or behavior that pacifies us for a time, so we can forget about our deeper ontological questions. Some of these bad habits can be seriously self-destructive or selfish, and trying to manifest with this lack of connection usually just brings on more rude reminders that we need to find a more fulfilling path of higher calling.

Our old habits are so insidious, often the only way to be sure we're on the right track is to keep asking for guidance into what we are really here to do -- because that point of view leads to a healthy exploration of what our highest self wants, and thus initiates the greatest and easiest flow of success.

The Sixth Insight through the Ninth, as well as the Tenth and Eleventh covered in the sequel books, all speak to this vision of clearing out our ego dramas and getting our destined flow going. They explain the importance of listening for our intuition, uplifting others, and setting a positive prayer field working ahead of us which both creates and recognizes our best path. This path feels like we are centering into the star role of our own movie, surrounded by mystery, and creates a sense of courage born of clarity about our collective future.

Bring in this consciousness by asking for and imaging a heavenly light coming down around you. And don't be satisfied with the mental version of this request. See the plants and buildings and people in your life lighting up in rich color and more sparkling form. Feel the energy lift. Remember that it's the day-to-day inspiration and contribution we make that is most meaningful, so tell your truth to the individuals who cross your path.

Pay it all forward and know that it's not necessarily about being famous. It's about making a difference where we are. Heed your call, be intuitive yet also logical (the integration of the left and right hemispheres of your brain), and the true world we are promised will open up in your life.
