Nescafe and the Fair Trade brand
Nescafe, one of the worst offenders in screwing the third world (e.g. baby milk), have got the Fair Trade mark for one of their coffee products.

Fair Trade

Is this;
a) a good thing - finally the big companies are being forced, by enlightened consumers to conform to a more moral business ethic.

b) a cynical move by a multi national corpaoration to cash in.

What do you all think?

Nestle brand we wait to see

If fair trade they support

If they will chase productivity

Like the honey brands they bought

Lowered the price producers received

Swept away purity control

With label switches they deceived

In honey was found chlromphenicol

The third world producers could not sell

Honey in rich world banned

It was safe they tried to tell

Honey withdraw command

Do we have to wait and see?

How Nestle exploits a commodity
