Info on becoming a conscientious objector June 11, 2006 9:19 PM

Don't wait for the draft to be re-instated! Start your (or your child's) conscientious objector file NOW!

Start out at Objector.org's How to Compile a CO Claim.

Another good place to start is I Will Not Kill.org. It is a good idea to sign both the online pledge, and print the pdf version of the postcard to mail in. Also be sure to check out their resources page, which contains many useful links to other sources.

Please share any other information on becoming a conscientious objector. It could very well save a life.

Closely related to the subject of conscientious objection is counter-recruitment. I highly recommend getting involved if you have some time to spare. Here are some links to information I found this afternoon:

Related to this topic is protecting your child(ren) from the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB ), which is given to most high school seniors.

Schools and the military whitewash the ASVAB as a career options test, when it actually assesses which military careers students are best fit for. Even worse, students are required to give personal information, including contact information that recruiters will eventually use to sell students a bill of goods.

Angry yet? Then be proactive! Educate yourself and take action. Click here for information.
