What problems keep arising in groups that you manage or belong to?

I think trying to make everyone happy of  course not everyone sees things the same way, but I feel if your going to be in a group with other people you should be able to handle youself like an adult. Adults can still have great debates about great topics without the language or attidude I just don't understand why some people have to reduce themselfs to the name calling. I wish that would stop it totally destroys your character and whatever side of the topic you were debateing about.  [ send green star]

lack of participation in some, petiton mongers in others,opinionated to the point i have to tell them to settle down and allow other people their opinions, just for starters.

then some of my groups are happy , and move along so fine.

The problems I run into most are lack of participation in the groups or a couple of members posting inappropiate stuff.  Another problem is having co-hosts that never post or make a comment or anything.  I post daily, and I have told my co-hosts that I don't expect them to post daily because we all have our own lives and things get hectic.  But when you haven't heard from a co-host in over 6 months, you kind of wonder what's up.

Dry spells where no one is posting or active in the group...Trying to find new ideas to keep peoples interest is a biggy too...  [ send green star]

I usually try to ask a question or put up a quiz.  It does seem to help!

Another thing I do, is if someone does make a comment, I try to respond back as soon as possible to let them know that their post is definately appreciated!
