Dear Mrs. shanks:

 

Thank you for writing to me regarding the "Habeas Corpus Restoration Act of 2007" (S. 185). I appreciate your thoughts on this legislation and welcome the opportunity to respond.

 

Habeas corpus is known as "the Great Writ." It provides a right to challenge in federal court the constitutionality of a person's detention, after all appeals and other challenges available in the jurisdiction of conviction have been exhausted. The right of habeas corpus is designed to ensure that innocent people do not remain in jail and are not executed. However, while habeas corpus is an important check against the misuse of government power, it also must not be abused. It is important that Congress carefully review and consider any proposed changes to laws concerning habeas corpus.

 

You may be pleased to know that I have decided to cosponsor S. 185, which would support habeas corpus by repealing provisions of the Military Commissions Act of 2006 that eliminated the jurisdiction of any court to hear or consider applications for a writ of habeas corpus filed by individuals determined by the United States to be enemy combatants. In June, 2007, the Senate Judiciary Committee, on which I serve, reported this bill to the full Senate, and I joined several of my colleagues in voting it favorably out of Committee. Please know that I will keep your thoughts in mind should the Senate debate this important bill.

I don't have a letter writen yet to send out so this is off the top of my head which is better if we are to get to know eachother.

I have known my skipper/Doug for 19 1/2 yrs of the 26yrs he has been inside,we've been best friends up till the last yr 1/2 when we fell in love,I trust him with my life and theres not many I could or would trust like I do my skipper.I always thought skip would get out when 15 or so yrs went by,obviosly he didn't. He is a fair,soft spoken man that has not become hardened by the system considering he grew up in there since age 20,a very sweet man he is who at times accepts the fact he may never get out,at other times he calls me crying,depressed & frustrated "Is this what god wants of me in this life" ,,he is my soulmate,our relationship is very spiritual and I love him very much & he does me too. He told me at one time "Please don't do time with me,go on with your life" Well thats a tall request & since I have told him that is impossable.
He was very close to his mother,she asked of me just before she passed on to please watch out for him & stay close to him to see him thru,I promised her this request & have seen it thru as I am a woman of my word. Now all these yrs later I know exactly what she ment and know now shes smiling down on us from up above. Skipper loves for me to talk about her.
Skip just went to a Parole hearing where he walked in with 28 letters of recomendations,support,job offers and places to live with 4 1/2 way houses to come out to. They said this was to much to read & didn't, telling him how they wanted his support letters set up 2yrs from now. He walked out of there with his head up high and very proud of himself considering how they beat an inmate down at a parole hearing,nothing an imate does is enough or good enough,he says he was more worried about the mother of the boy that was the victim,he worrys about the parents and how they carry so much hate for him,hates not good for anyone but he can't blame them at the same time,the DA also shows up for every parole hearing and this time the mother was in hysterics over the forensic evidence and had to leave the room. Skip said he almost started crying but he can't show any emotion in the room. Then after this,one week later after waiting 16mos to hear from the federal government he got a letter from them turning him down a new court hearing for reasons that were in a juvinille record such as he tryed to run away when he was 13yrs old and other reasons from his juvinille record that they can't by law use. He filed again and said I can't give up,not now! I've never talked to anyone about this situation and its very exhausting for me,,I can imagine how it is for my Skipper. Thanks for being here and fighting like you do.

Hello my dear friends; Joann you are absolutely one of the best!  Your energy is never-ending & your heart touches so many.. Even tho I'm not really happy with life right now, doesn't mean I won't adapt   it may be difficult at times, but I've been on this roller-coaster of life for a while now, at times it seems unbearable, but it does pass...  Thank you for your encouragement & luv, you are appreciated   HUGZ

hello my friend I no life can kick us in the butt sometimes but it will get better sending you lots of prayers.I would love to give you a call but lost your number send it to my e-mail and I will give you a call next week.Going to see Donald this weekend he has been really down a little worried about him, its his b-day this weekend so hope us comming picks him up a little.We hired a privet innvestager to help us and hope they do some thing for us.It has been a long hard 7 years fighting to get him home.Love you much Jo Ann..

I didnt think that it was legal to hold the record of a juvenile against them as an adult.A juvenile record is suppose to be sealed at the age of 18,unless he was charged as an adult anything that he might have done as a minor should not be able to be held against him.

even though juvi records are reported as sealed,they never really are.  that is why, so often, if a persn commits another crime as an adult, notice the prosecutor always brings up their prior record, even though it may be a juvi record.

Criminals in Government - That Is My Problem April 30, 2009 10:30 AM

My article on Mary Neal Requests Meeting with the USDOJ was just deleted by "tech difficulties" at NowPublic immediately after I was off the phone with the FBI and with the USDOJ and referred them to that article for information on this case -- secret arrest and wrongful death of Larry Neal.  The article makes it quite clear that the USDOJ itself is complicit in the coverup after Larry's death.  Immediately, "tech difficulties" hit ONLY MY ARTICLE at NP. 

2.3 million people are imprisoned in America by criminals.  That is how I see it.

The cyberstalkers have a choice.  The USA has a choice.  Either my first amendment rights will be honored, and my family will have due process of law, or declare the Constitution null and void.  Otherwise, we need to get this remedied.  I will not be censored.  The FBI asked for my evidence, of which I plenty and will be collecting more all day.
