The area of the Canile is placed at a former rubbish-ground without infrastructure. There is no electricity and water. Many of the dogs are sick - suffering of Leishmaniose, Ehrlichose or other diseases. Please write each senator and congressman an email with your opinion. (Get their address at ASPCA.com by putting in your zip code. )

Follow up your email with a quick phone call. To find your congressman's phone number, go to www.congress.org. When you call simply say, “I am a constituent of [Representative/Senator] and I am calling to urge him/her to support the “Polar Bear Protection Act” to close the loophole that allows sport hunters to kill polar bears and bring the heads and hides of these animals into the US. Now is the time to act to ensure the polar bears survival.”

Then please pass this alert on to everyone you know and urge them to save the polar bears before it’s too late.

A dog was abused in Didsbury, Alberta, Canada, involving 2 teenage boys beating it up, duct taping the legs together and dragging it behind a car. The dog was SO badly injured that it had to be put down on the spot. It was the worst crime against an animal that a vetrian RCMP officer had ever seen. The 2 boys that did it will probably get minimal fines and a very short stint in jail. Just don't think that it is fair.....please sign this petition and forward on to your friends and family, and we'll see if we can make an example of these boys.

Blog: Coastal Parks& Monarchs

I recently took part in the tagging during the Monarch Butterfly Migration!
Turns out they feed on the seaside goldenrod that grows in very salty soil.
Being an employee of Hudson River Park in Manhattan, I realized that the park does not provide for coastal species, as the parks are built on peirs, so the soil is imported.
I am going to talk to my supervisor about this.
If a peir was dedicated to a coastal habitat, The park could be a valuable feeding ground for the monarchs!
Plus people will be able to view them on their way south, and north again.

Blog: Fundraiser

Once we move me and my brothers will be holding a fundraiser for a fund i made.The fund i'v made is called the CrocFund in memory of the late Steve Irwin.Steve was my hero and my icon i loved him and want to help his zoo in australia.The zoo is a non-gov. funded zoo that runs off of donations and thats why i want to help them.100% of The CrocFund is going to be donated to the australia zoo once we can build it up to $100.00.My brothers and I have joined the Australia zoo's wildlife warriors world wide program.I love rescuing animals i'v done animal rescues seince i was 4 years old and still doing it now it's alot of fun and the best thing of all is the feeling you get inside from helping these beautyful animals.thanks:Tara
