hi my family just moved on to property in SE Tx.Lot of work clearing the property, esp. in the summer heat of 2005,with Hurricane Rita blasting thru clearing out the oak trees!! We were all pretty wiped out physically, and emotionally until spring 2006.My husband broke up a garden and we began to connect with Mother Earth. We've had an abundance of wild flowers this year--all seasons, every thing stayed green with all the rain we got ( 30 inches in Oct.) I got the need to build a flower garden around a big pine tree--WORK!!!!!Hauling in dirt, leveling it;and the size kept growing, changing.I encircled the area with rocks (heavy).I had to keep at it even tho it was 100 degree temp. in the shade!! Totally exhausted I got to a stopping point, after that the energy of the site was overwhelming--what a buzz got just fixing a catus garden in the middle circle. I've never done a flower garden,we've always had vegetable gardens, but I can see how it gets addictive, planning where everything go and searching for the right plants. I've really enjoyed this life lesson.
