Please contact: SabineJerome@aol.comPLEASE CROSSPOSTDear animal friends,at the moment we are trying to help a dog in Bangkok (Dany). He lives in the street in the Klong San area, the Chao Phraya river in Bangkok. The picture was taken by a student in Bangkok (Dan).I have been in contact with him and he is trying to help as much as possible. Dan the photographer has no idea how to deal with animals, and he has no way of taking the dog with him. But he has promised via mail to go back to Dany immediately, to check up on her and bring her food with the hopes, that she will make it until we have found a solution to save her. There is a dog rescue center in Bangkok, which I have mailed to but not received an answer yet.Maybe someone from Bangkok will be able to help, someone who has experience with animals?Possibly this person would have to go to the Bangkok rescue center personally to ask for help. We will get a sponsor for Dany so the rescue center will not have any costs with him.Another possibilty would be for an animal lover in Bangkok to collect the dog and brings or ships her to the rescue center in Koh Samui for medical attention. If anyone happens to be in Bangkok at this moment, please write to me. Dan will explain to you exactly how to find Dany.If you have other suggestions for help, please get in contact with me.best regards from GermanyUlrike Brunner & Stefanie Mendolawww.hotel-kosamui.comwww.baansamui-animalfriends.dewww.tierhilfe-assisi.de
Kat writes: They are such joyful pups. I little timid on the leash and don’t know how to sit, but the volunteers are working with them to try to help them learn. They are very, very affectionate though. Tons of potential.

It's frustrating for me to see so many people here on care2 shun politics because they think it's unrelated to protecting animals. It has everything to do with it. Where do people think petitions go? Who do they think orgs lobby for wildlife legislation? Every protection and every survival comes down to legislators who are either going to support animals or not. For people to be ignorant of this factor is just upsetting. This is why I examined the voting records and constructed a report based on the Humane Society's rankings of politicians based on their pro and anto-animal votes.
Congress and Animals
I also included links to other endorsements based on pro-wildlife voting records. It occurred to me that Congress had a very partisan difference between which party is pro-wildlife and which one is not. The Republican party, which also takes contributions from oil, gas, mining, and timber industries (a complete conflict with wildlife) is also the party that votes against wildlife legislation. Makes sense though. Protect the habitat and their contributors can't make any profit.
Only 3 out of 10 Repulicans voted pro-animal, where 7 out of 10 Democrats voted pro-animal. Some people don't want to see this. One man has already banned me from his wildlife/nature group and deleted my posts because he doesn't want to acknowledge that his party is the party that votes against his best interests.
To get the ball rolling I wrote a petition asking the U.S. presidential candidates to pledge to protect animals and wildlife. If we don't show them we care, they may not care.

I hope you'll all sign!
Recognizing a bad idea when they see it, many states have passed laws banning this "pay-per-view" slaughter where a mouse click can cost an animal's life. But many states remain without anything on the books addressing Internet hunting.
Get the facts on Internet hunting. Find out where your state stands on this issue, and see what legislation is pending in your state.
What You Can Do
See if your U.S. Representative is a co-sponsor of federal internet hunting legislation. If not, ask him/her to do so right now.
