No Yule on Care2 December 2005. Does Care2 really Care?

All Other Holidays were Acknowledged on the Care2's Homepage
www.care2.com this year except for Yule.

I asked Care2 why Yule was not included in this Years Holiday Cheer in the feedback & Suggestions forum. I have waited Patiently for a reply. I still have not gotten a reply.

Care2 must know about Yule. They do have Pagan Greeting Cards http://www.care2.com/send/catpagan1.html So why weren't Pagans included & also wished a happy holiday as everyone else was? Why was Yule left out of the Holidays?

I am sorry to say that I am so used to Yule being ignored that I didn't really notice. I just wished a happy yule time to those I thought who would be receptive to it and let the rest fall into 'Happy Holidays' Thank you for keeping your eyes open.

There are nearly always pagan holidays skipped over, as pretty much EVERY day is a holiday in one or more pagan traditions. Here are some of the more serious ones in late December 2005:

16 eve of Saturnalia
17 Bona Saturnalia
18 Epona (2nd day of Saturnalia)
19 Opalia (3rd " )
20 4th day of Saturnalia, Norse Mother Night (Modresnach)
21 Solstice, Yule, Druid Alban Arthuan
22 6th day of Saturnalia
23 end of Saturnalia, festival of Laurentina, Egyptian Hathor day, only Celtic day not ruled by a tree
24
25 Sol Invictus
26 1st day of Yuletide, Egyptian Horus

29 Greek Festival of the Nymphs

31 Asatru 12th Night, Scottish Hogmagog festival (sun god)

I noticed Yule in the greetings - but have never even looked at the page you note. What a bummer. But I too have gotten used to being ignored...

It could be a simple thing really, not a purposeful oversight and I'd take a breath before getting wrung-up. I am reading (and seeing changes) all over care2 as they are working out the beta testing sections--through the holiday season, mind you. Maybe it just got bumped accidentally in the re-design juggle? I’ve seen Yule listed in the past, but must admit most recently I’ve not received any ‘holiday’ reminders. Must go overview my event reminder settings...
Well, we will see. I am sure they’ll correct it at some point. In general, the care2 folks seem to be fairly decent about these things overall.
Cheers and Blessed Be. Melissa ^~V~^

Like the others I never really noticed ))-; I was really sick of the chewing out I'd get when I wished folks "Happy Holidays"!! That's why I wrote the blog on it. My fanny is 3 sizes smaller because Jesus/Christ wasn't in my greetings. I hope Care2 will correct the 'glitch' in the December calendar for next year.

Mari, go check out my pictures in the "Just Stuff" and check out the Wheel I have. It's my desktop picture ((-; Great minds Girl!!!

PEACE, JOY, LOVE & HOPE for 2006,

Mari, you are right to be upset about this, it is religious discrimination, all beliefs should be recognised, this is a multi racial and religious community and it is a small request you have made of them. If we are all to learn and accept our many differences it needs to start with the site setting the example.

Yule should be included. I do not see why it wasn't since it is a Religous Holiday. Maybe Care2 isn't educated on Pagan Holidays? Not sure what to think since Care2 does have Pagan Greetings they must have some knowledge of Yule. You have every right to be upset & thankyou for standing up on this!
