Poll: Ok, How About A Poll? remove Remove this share



Since this group is about eating disorders, how about a quick poll to see how many of us either suffer from or know someone who suffers from an ED.  Just a reminder about abbreviations:  ed=eating disorder, ana=anorexia, mia=bulimia, coe=compulsive over-eating, ed-nos=eating disorder not otherwise specified.  "Not otherwise specified" means that you don't meet all of the requirements for a specific ED.

I have Obessisive Compulsive Disorder. I have been told that I have had Anorexia because a person with this disorder could feel a lack of control over the compulsions? but eating is one thing that a person can have control over! plus, it is rather glamorized in the media too... it saves money... and over exersize makes me really happy and high and MANIC! my mother is manic depressive bi-polar... and doctors are always trying to tell me that i might be bipolar as well because it is inherited. PS>>>> i do not SUFFER from anorexia!!! i enjoy every minute of it! i never weigh less than 125 lbs. at 5 foot 8 1/2.... slender, but not necessary to be hospitalized.

I'm ana...and I do believe that for most people it's a lifestyle choice...not in any way a DIET or anything...but just a way to control what you put in your body. I don't see it as an illness I guess because I am fine with not eating much. It doesn't bother me. The only thing that bothers me is when people start telling me I need to eat!

Leslie, I agree with you totally. I'm in more of a eating phase right now, but not gaining so I'm not too worried about it. I really don't have a problem with people telling me to eat though, they really don't notice or don't care if I eat or not, lol. I'm ed-nos, btw, would be ana but I don't have every one of the "symptoms".
