What/who changed my life and why
absolutely none as have read too many books and seen too few films. A shame they didn't include opera and stageworks into this questions. Wozzech by Alban Berg and Don Giovanni with Abaddo conducting, two operas that gave me the worst nightmares. Most difficult opera to study in past repertoire is not Parsifal, but Frau ohne Schatten by Strauss, the Amee, not the Empress. Turandot, I would never consider.
