LIZARD BRAIN: the Fear Factor and American Fascism

Can you feel it?
Do you sense something big is happening or will happen?

Since the late 50's, I recall my teachers saying the planet cannot endure much more pollution. That we must act now before it's too late to save the environment for future generations. During the 60's as part of the anti-war movement, and going through the 70's, 80's and 90's hearing the same warnings, I find we have made little progress toward healing our planet and are now on a dangerous course.

As an optimist, I believe in the spirit of man to ultimately do the right thing, even in the face of adversity and when the odds are stacked against him. I also believe in faith, hope, courage and yes...in miracles.  My own life has been one big wall of adversity, odds and roadblocks. Through my optimism and beliefs, I have experienced many miracles.

With all the ugliness in the world, there is still vast beauty. We have within and around us everything we need to sustain us all for a good life. Rather than dwell on the ills of our world, it's important that we dwell on what we can change. So, what can you do?

Change your thought process and dwell on the positives - with an eye to changing the negatives. Knowing the economic crisis we face and the rising cost of food, consider going toward the basics and growing your own, then bartering with others for what you need in exchange for your excess food grown. And to reduce fears of the unknown in worst case scenarios, get your emergency supplies of food, water and survival in place. Most important...pay off all debts and try not to use credit cards. Reduce consumption to your basic needs only.

These are practical steps we all should have been doing long ago. By taking action and being prepared, you will reduce stress and gain a certain amount of peace of mind knowing you've done all you can to secure your well-being...which leads to greater happiness.

So, what's it going to be? Will you follow the crowd, put your head in the sand...or take charge of your life to minimize any crisis that comes?

About Me I'm a Tiger in Chinese Astrology. Also, sensitive, caring, curious, interesting and interested, perceptive, insightful, romantic, told I have "moxie". Clarification: I am now a 'casual' activist, having been an 'enthusiastic' activist for many years. It is now up to our younger folks to take the baton.

Political Leaning Liberal

Eating Habits Love garlic and onions, keeping it healthy, organic, no red meat
Wild Fact About Me Was personal secretary to Sugar Ray Robinson (frequently cited as greatest boxer of all time, deceased); won 2nd place in state spelling bee-6th grade (can spell words I have no clue what they mean); used to drag race on streets (cringe today when I think about it); raised in household with almost all major nationalities
My Philosophy Care about others, care about life. Although my political leaning is Liberal, I live a conservative and extremely frugal lifestyle. I am quite practical, have never been on a "vacation", save for rainy days and have worked very hard over the years. I was usually the last one out of the door. Yet, I know everyone is different and dances to their own drum beat. I know alot of things, yet haven't touched the tip. Must keep an open mind and must protect others, critters and the planet because EACH of us is a piece of the puzzle and completes the pie.
