Hello!

My name is Helen and I am a checkout operator. It may not be the most glamorous job in the world but I work with some great people and, as they say 'there are no small jobs, only small people'.

The biggest bug bear of the job, apart from the truly obnoxious customers, is the use of plastic bags. There has been a decrease in the use of them but some people still do not understand that the use of plastic bags has consequences for the environment. My favourite wild animal is the polar bear. They are gorgeous creatures and I choose them over plastic bags any day.
