Lover of all animals, especially dogs and cats. Abhor neglect, abuse and violence towards ANY animal. Have been involved with dog ownership for 63 years now. My life would not be complete without a dog in my life.
63 Years ago, I created a petition to Save the Seals. I collected over 1,000 signatures and sent it to Brian Davies who was in charge of it at the time. Unfortunately, they are still struggling to be kept alive.
All animals need to be treated with respect. They need to be nurtured with nutritious food, fresh water, shelter, and exercise. They need their yearly shots and flea control as well as heartworm control.
The key to achieving no more homeless or unwanted animals is best achieved by neutering and spaying.
What Gives Me Hope
As time goes by there is an increased education about animal abuse and violence towards them. We have so many animal lovers in the world, when we band together there isn't much we can't accomplish. We need more No Kill shelters/ We need stricter laws regarding violence towards animals. More felonies, less misdemeanors.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Take care of people and animals in our own backyard. Charity begins at home. Raise awareness of violence towards people and animals in as many ways possible. It begins at home and with education I feel. Change the laws to make animal abuse felonies and ensure anyone convicted of the crime is never allowed to own or work with animals. Pardon non violent offenders in prison for drug use. They need rehab, not prison. It would help with the overcrowding of our penal system.
What/who changed my life and why
Frank D. Hannah who introduced me to the teachings of Dr. Sigmund Freud. This changed my entire life and I am forever grateful. I believe everyone needs at least 1 hero in their life and these two are mine. Of course the list is much longer, but those two are at the top of the list.
