I'm basically a self taught artist, I started offering my artwork to the public in 2002, when I created my business, Mostly Animal Art. As the name implies, animals are the preferred subject matter of my work, and that is where my passion lies. I portray all animals, pets, wildlife, mammals, reptiles, insects…..etc. My motto is, “If it crawls, swims, flies, hops, or walks, I will paint it.”
I try to use my art and photography to raise awareness of the needs of pets and wildlife. I have also used my art to help raise funding for local rescues, no-kill shelters, as well as some preselected rescues in other states.
My medium of choice is acrylic paints, soft pastels, & rubber stamp design. I created a limited edition line of hand painted original ceramic plates, though I had to give up creating any new works in this medium, as the a long term disability with my hands will no longer allow it. With my family’s encouragement, pet portrait commissions are now another great enjoyment of mine, but again my hands limit me to only a couple a year at most.
Many of my originals are available at a local gallery in Waterville, Ohio, called the Silver Lining Gallery, and I am in the process of adding prints and other items to my new Zazzle shop.
I have one dog, a Chow named Satin, and I've recently started a blog where you can read more about her.
