I am a staunch believer in networking, socially and economically. In strategic alliances (I have no enemies, no competition, only untapped allies) there exists a raw power to effect change. I view the world and its people as a collection of small spheres, each one creating a cycle of life for the people and things contained within that sphere. Something like a huge field of bubbles, each fragile and independent. These spheres, when kept isolated, are at peril for destruction. But if the spheres merge and share a portion of space with other spheres, then they are less likely to succumb to outside pressures exerted upon their surfaces. In viewing people, places, and paradigms in this manner, I can often see how the spheres can be joined. And that's what I try to do: Put things together so that they work better and toward a common goal, which ultimately is survival (and, consequently, evolution). This practice works in business, and I know that it works on social scales, if given a chance. So I devote my time to creating relationships to meet goals and find solutions.
I am a positive person, and I am a spiritual person, although I never try to press my belief system on other people- that's contrary to what spirituality is really all about! I work, live, and play with people of all classes, backgrounds, creeds, colors, and lifestyles, and I enjoy watching the human condition in its full bloom. Take enough people with enough variety, add a good dose of the right, positive energy, and you will have a perfect recipe for change and progress. That's how I define myself, and that's how I am working to change things in my world. I may not be around in fifty or sixty years, but my children will be, and I want them to have a better world than the one I inherited.
Join me in oputting the bubbles together.
Other things about me: I am a Scorpio, born on Hallowe'en. I am an avid writer (have been for over thirty years). I don't care what other people think about me as long as I am comfortable with myself and what I am doing. And I am fiercely protective of my family.
I hiked across Africa, from West to East, when I was twenty years old. And I have been a political activist since I was ten years old- I have the distinction to be the youngest person in the history of the AFL-CIO to be awarded Service Distinction for having volunteered for more than 500 hours for the American Flint Glass Workers' Union, in 1976.
My Philosophy
Take time to look at the little things that happen to you; if you do, you will usually find that most, if not all, of those things are interconnected. It's called Unified Field Theory, and it is a very real fact of life.
What Gives Me Hope
My children. And the spark I see in their eyes.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
If I were of a mind to serve in office (which I'm not), I would press for the creation of an international consortium of successful business people (mostly women) for the purpose of looking for real solutions to world issues. This entity would not be ruled by politics or the agendas of any nation or power- you know the way the UN was supposed to be. Bureaucracy would not be allowed (Think like Jack Welch!), and deadlines would be set and kept.
What/who changed my life and why
There have been so many books that influenced my life, but I would have to say the one that reformed my life was The Secret. Simple and clear lessons were brought back to me when I read that volume. As for people who have served as inspiration, most of my role models are female, simply because I know the true power and peace that women possess. You can add Leonardo da Vinci to that list as well as Mahatma Ghandi, for a multitude of reasons.
