Unable, and unwilling, to accept the horrors man inflicts on the animal kingdom. Very well-written and well-spoken. Intelligent, self-confident when involved in a cause I am committed to. Enthusiastic activits who WOULD DEFINITELY become rabid if the need arose in a situation where it would SEAL THE DEAL for the tormented.
I have predicted several unknowable things that actually happened. Every time, a feather dropped before my eyes.... Go figure! I saw auras around the kids at the bus stop in the morning when I was a kid.
The golden rule is always golden: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. As to government: Less is more. As to human rights: It is a gift of God, not Man. Animal rights: They are a gift of God, not Man. I do believe in a God...just not the self-serving hyporcrite Christians push.
What Gives Me Hope
Avian Flu, Lung Colon Cancer, eColi, and the measures that are finally seeing the halls of Congress and petitions being shared that look after our lost, lonely, voiceless innocent animal companions who suffer so needlessly in silence.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
1. Cap the amount that could be SPENT to conduct any one campaign
2. Cap the amount of ANY one campaign donation.
3. Outlaw animal experimentation.
4. Outlaw the use of animals in ads or entertainments
Pass SWEEPING animal welfare laws applicable to all farm and companion animals that ensured they received proper treatment, access to nature, fresh air, sunshine, veterinary care, exercise, ... the right to live their lives. The complete elimination of animals from any non-food products, except where that part or piece is derived as a consequence of mood animal slaughter. I'd like to see animals cease to be food but I don't think that is realistic.
And, enforcement of and criminal prosecution for all applicable laws put into effect..with REAL consequence.
What/who changed my life and why
Earthling, Food Nation, Inconvenient Truth. The Road. The first three opened my eyes to what was right in FRONT of me, and to my responsibility in it. The last reminded me of love...unselfish love and ultimate committment....as our giveback for our time on this earth....
We have enslaved the rest of the animal creation, and have treated our distant cousins in fur and feathers so badly that beyond doubt, if they were able to formulate a religion, they would depict the Devil in human form. ~William Ralph Inge
