A Poem for all animals and the people who love them

Your loving eyes are closing
I wish it for the last
because if that is not to be
tomorrow's coming fast
I know I'll have to hold you
as I have done before
for my precious little furry Girl 
behind the vet's closed door I wouldn't leave you
Miss Kitty My Chow My Beautiful Best Friend
I'll have to watch, as you let go
and drift away from me
to go in peace to the bridge
where I cannot yet be
the comfort that I reach for
that I hold so dear
is knowing Jesus, Who made you
has moved in very near
He whispers softly in my ear
don't you understand?
She is not yours, She never was
I formed her with My hands
I brought her forth, created her
then sent her out to see
if there was someone who would love her
before She came home to Me
and I'll recall the love you showed her
when you stand before My throne 
then I'll give her back to you
in your forever home,

Within the United States, pet owners are under attack.  Unscrupulous animal rights extremists are waging a battle to eliminate pet ownership.
Dogs and Cats have always been an important part of the American way of life. Pet owners care for, cherish and share our homes with our pets who provide us with unconditional devotion and quality of life.  Therefore, we the people affirm:

• We have the freedom and the right to choose and own the dog or cat that is best suited for our family, without regard to origin, breed, sex or pedigree.

• We have the right to protect and nurture our pets with the understanding that they belong to us and are therefore our private property.

• We have the right to protection from Government interference into our privacy regarding decisions about our pets.

• We have the right to be protected from threats and intimidation, illegal search, seizure and unnecessary impoundment of our dogs or cats.

• We have the right to be informed of how our pet tax and licensing dollars are spent.

• We have the right to protest pet laws regarding unreasonable or restrictive licenses, fees, or fines.

• We have the right to require Government to conduct open and impartial hearings, and thorough research prior to voting on laws that could affect the health and safety of our dogs and cats.

• We have the right to protect our pets against unjustifiable seizure by anyone, for any reason, whose action could result in euthanasia.
 

• We have the right to demand public resources be provided for the exercise and enjoyment of our pets.

• We have the right to require public information regarding pet safety and education be provided for the interest, information, and enlightenment of all people of the community.





TEN COMMANDMENTS OF A RESPONSIBLE PET OWNER.

       
1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you will be very painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want from me. Do not break my spirit with your temper, though I will always forgive you. Your patience will teach me more effectively.

3. Please have me spayed or neutered.

4. Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for your kindness than mine. Don´t be angry with me for long, and don't lock me up as punishment. After all, you have your job, your friends, your entertainment. I have only you.

5. Speak to me often. Even if I don´t understand your words, I understand your voice when it´s speaking to me. Your voice is the sweetest sound I ever hear, as you must know by my enthusiasm whenever I hear your footsteps.

6. Take me in when it´s cold and wet. I´m a domestic animal and am no longer accustomed to the bitter elements. I ask for little more than your gentle hands petting me. Keep my bowl filled with water. Feed me good food so that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding. By your side, I stand ready, willing, and able to share my life with you, for that is what I live for. I´ll never forget how well you´ve treated me.

7. Don´t hit me. Remember, I have teeth that could easily crush the bones in your hand, but I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I´m not getting the right food. I´ve been out in the sun too long, or my heart may be getting weak.

9. Take care of me when I get old. For you will grow old, too.

10. When I am old, or when I no longer enjoy good health, please do not make heroic efforts to keep me going. I am not having fun. Just see to it that my trusting life is taken gently. And be with me on that difficult journey when it´s time to say goodbye. Never say "I just can´t bear to watch." Everything is easier for me when you are there. I will leave this earth knowing with my last breath that my fate was always safest in your hands. I love you.

What point is there in killing another living being just to prove you have "evolved", you have transcended. There is simply no need.  Needless to say, that killing a defenseless animal is no proof of anybody's manhood.
Never, ever, killing an other creature, another living being, with whom we share this world, has done any good, to anyone. So let's stop it
