What/who changed my life and why

EVENT: My dearest friend EVER turned away because of my family's religious discrimination against him. I never believed what they do, but was brainwashed into thinking I "HAD" to say that I did. I lost the friendship but began gaining my SELF at that time, because of the awakening I got. My entire life since has been an effort toward equality and peace. If only I could make amends personally with him...
