In memory of our beloved Charlie who sadly left us on March 31, 2010.
I try to redeem my butterfly credits everyday!
At least I try to give safe water daily. Now and then I receive more butterfly credits giving me the possibility to plant some new trees.
AVENTURA DE SANTO ANTONIO
When I am not here on Care2 I am spending my time planting new trees i real life. I am working with the
organization "Aventura de Santo Antonio". It is a Swedish organization working for love, care and compassion in nature and towards people in need.
Our founder Josefa Dos Passos Engkvist is coming from Brazil and she is living in Sweden since 45 years. We are located in Helsingborg, in the south part of Sweden and in Brazil.
In Sweden we are raising money through different project and events. Every week we are broadcasting our own radio program "radio Aventura" to spread our message in Sweden. All money we are able to raise goes to our projects in Brazil. Being a small organization we don't have the same resources as the big organizations but we know we are contributing and making a difference, that is most important.
We have our base in Mato Grosso do Norte in Brazil where we have "The House of Knowledge". We have decided to be located in Mato Grosso do Norte as it is the Brazilian state having the largest deforestation in Brazil today. Our daily work in Brazil is to:
- have meetings
- activate people to care more about the environment
- buy tree plants
- grow tree plants
- plant new trees
- teach about the need of diversity
- teach about alternative to chemicals
- teach about green alternative in daily life
- teach about garbage disposal
- help people read and write
- help disabled, elderly and children in need
You are most welcome to visit our website, sorry but it is only in swedish:

I CARE ABOUT ALL LIFE ON EARTH. One of our beautiful species are the magnificent wolfs. They do need to be protected. Unfortunately Swedish politicians have another opinion. By the end of 2009 they decided wolf hunting was allowed again in Sweden and that 27 wolfs should be killed on January 2nd 2010.
The Wolf hunting in Sweden is a BIG SHAME!
Sweden is now leaving its position since decades as an environmental forerunner. The on-going killing of critically endangered wolves risks to severely harming the already small and inbred wolf population of Sweden. We ask for support from an international opinion in order to stop the government from continuing the killing, says Dr. Mikael Karlsson, President of the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation, the largest and oldest environmental organisation in Sweden.
The present wolf hunting in Sweden is based on a proposition from the Swedish government, implemented by an EPA decision, allowing 27 wolves to be killed in order to keep the population below 210 individuals. The wolf population is red-listed by scientists to be critically endangered in Sweden. As many as 20 other European countries have higher densities of wolves per surface unit than Sweden, all of which also have higher population density.
Gray wolves were once abundant and distributed over much of North America, Eurasia, and the Middle East. Today, for a variety of human-related reasons, including widespread habitat destruction and excessive hunting, wolves inhabit only a very limited portion of their former range.
Though listed as a species of least concern for extinction worldwide, for some regions including the Continental United States, the species is listed as endangered or threatened.
