I'm 20, from Essex in the south East of England. I work in a museum in London, and am a bit of a history nerd. I "specialise" in medieval and early History. I started when I was 5, with Horrible Histories TERRIBLE TUDORS. I still have my original copy. Now, 15 years on I'm following my dream of working towards getting my teaching qualification. Also I love Cricket! It's an amazing sport and highly underrated.
Before I got my job in the museum, I was training to be a florist. I've always loved flowers, but through my entire schooling life had devoted myself to history. Its only when my college life messed up and I ended up leaving education, that I thought that becoming a florist might be the ideal job for me. I miss it, but I don't regret changing my career path. I also like gardening, even though I'm relatively new at it.
With regards to what is important to me, I mostly lean towards the environment and how we look after it. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not the greenest of the green, but I am learning and I am trying to live a much greener life. Joining this website was as much about learning to live an eco life as it was about being active and meeting people with similar interests as me.
I also abhor any form of animal cruelty. I do not use products tested on animals. I do not visit circuses (and I never have done). I do not eat meat, rarely eat dairy (I'm trying to phase this out now as well) and have stopped buying clothes made from animal products (though I still use the ones I had from before I made this choice, but only until they wear out). I'm doing this slowly, as I want it to be a lifestyle change and not just s quick fix.
While we ourselves are the living graves of murdered beasts, how can we expect any ideal conditions on this earth? - George Bernard Shaw
What Gives Me Hope
I read in the metro the other day, that the amount of recycling in London has risen; in some places fourfold!

George Bernard Shaw. The quote from him, that I haven written underneath my philosophy, is my motto for life. I was ignorant until I read his quotes, but now I understand.
