What/who changed my life and why
Anna B... in spirit now. She was my stand in grandmother who was a tenant and family friend who lived upstairs from us thruout my childhood... She was full of endless love, taught me much, and influenced my childhood profoundly... greatly impacting who I am today.
My mother... whom I am proud to call my best friend, as well as Mom.
My two deceased brother's... losing them so young... and in the ways in which they passed... affected me in ways I cannot begin to describe. (One to suicide at age 28 when I was 19... one to AIDS complications when I was 28 and he was 39.)
Don... a friend who's fallen out of touch... but who helped me see possibilities, shed old fears & constraints, and embrace... me.

Visions of the earth, with glories of nature, Beauty of the daffodils, Sunshine and rain from a rainbow, Awe! Nature in full bloom."

"Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices, but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence and fulfills the duty to express the results of his thought in clear form." What is a Poem A poem is hidden in the soundlessspeechless soft clouds Tossing turning twisting in the crystal clear aquamarine sky Look inside a pleasing pretty flower Climb immeasurable immenseimpressive mountains If you find a poem handle it carefully Like a newborn puppy For a poem can die or slip through fingers Like creamy butter And be lost in the dark streets Look in places where you have never been before And there you might find a poem Lost somewhere in the soft clouds The clear sky or a pretty flower Waiting for you! by Amber Hickman (aged 8)
