About Me Do you see any difference between treated well & killed and abused & killed? Pigs are slaughtered at the age of 6 months. Chickens are killed at 6 weeks. Can you tell by looking at the below links which animals are cared well, and abused & slaughtered? Who said the domesticated farmed animals don’t feel & hear the pain/fear/horror, feel the happiness and sadness, and they are dumb? Is it okay to abuse, torture & kill just because they don’t look like human and speak our language? Many people who adore the meat/animal by products tag the food source animals are perfectly okay. Lab experimental animals are cruel. Sporting hunting is the traditional sports that American values it great deal so it’s fine to kill the wildlife. http://www.viva.org.uk/photogallery/Slaught

“In a nutshell, cattle ranchers are making mincemeat out of Brazil’s Amazon rainforests.”
Center for International Forestry Research. "23 of our 29 threatened bird species have impacts from cattle grazing while only 3 on that list have threats from logging."

“In Central America, 40% of all the rainforests have been cleared or burned down in the last 40 years, mostly for cattle pasture to feed the export market---often for U.S. beef burgers”. World Rainforest Report

Vegetarians tread lightly, requiring only 1/6 acre (0.067 hectares) of land to feed themselves each year; carnivores, 3 1/4 acres (1.315 hectares). More than 3/4 of U.S. topsoil has been lost through erosion; 85% of this loss was directly caused by the raising of animals for food. Vegetarianism shows greater respect for our land by preserving its richness.

It is estimated that 85% of this topsoil loss is directly related to raising livestock. “More than 4,000 gallons (15,000 liters) of water are needed to produce a single day’s worth of food for the typical meat eater. In comparison, an ovo-lacto vegetarian requires only 1,200 gallons (4,500 l) of water, and a vegan needs a mere 300 gallons (1,135 l).””Vegetarian Times Complete Cookbook

If the calf is killed when young, his fourth stomach is also used in cheese-making; it contains rennin, an enzyme used to curdle (or coagulate) milk to turn it into cheese. Rennet, the membrane of which rennin is an extract, can also be used in this process.

WHAT DO CHICKENS EAT AND DRINK in USA?
http://www.eco-labels.org/feature.cfm?Featu
reID=1&isPast=1
In a "natural" environment, chickens like to eat grains, grasses, and insects. They eat insects for protein, greens for calcium (calcium-deficient hens can produce very thin-shelled eggs), whole grains (rather that ground meal), hard grit and salt for minerals.

Protein found in the conventional chicken feed fed to factory-farm hens can come from a variety of sources, including animal manure and by-product waste. Poultry feathers, bone, meat, blood, litter (including urine and feces) and other animal by-products such as beef and swine are considered by FDA to be forms of protein that can be used in poultry feed. According to a USDA report on egg farming in 1999, poultry by-products were present in the feed of 44.6% egg laying hens and other animal by-products were fed to 73.6 % of hens. According to the Center for Veterinary Medicine department at the FDA, ingredients in feed are extremely variable and based on a "least cost feed formulation," which mean the cheapest forms of protein determine the specific ingredients used.

Other Animals Slaughtered for Skins
Most leather produced and sold in the United States is made from the skins of cattle and calves, but leather is also made from horses, sheep, lambs, goats, and pigs who are slaughtered for meat. Other species are hunted and killed specifically for their skins, including zebras, bison, water buffaloes, boars, kangaroos, elephants, eels, sharks, dolphins, seals, walruses, frogs, turtles, crocodiles, lizards, and snakes.

Other “exotic” animals, such as alligators, are factory-farmed for their skins and meat. Young alligators may be kept in tanks above ground, while the bigger animals live in pools half-sunken into concrete slabs.5

Japanese Government Has Enacted a Ban Meat Imports From US of the Mad Cow Disease.
The Japanese government has enacted a ban on meat imports from the United States because of our history of Mad Cow Disease. Today (October 26, 2005), Senators Pat Roberts from Kansas and Kent Conrad from North Dakota will introduce legislation that should result in more than $3 billion in penalties (tariffs) against Japan if Tokyo does not ease up on its own ban of beef from American cows.
Japan has money, and lots of it, invested in America. That money is in the form of hundreds of billions of dollars in short term bonds. The money represents an enormous deficit that America has accumulated by fighting wars and running a negative cash flow in unsuccessfully attempting to run the business of our nation. Because of our inability to balance our own budget, billions of dollars need to be borrowed by finding cash-rich nations. It is not a healthy economic practice to lose money every year and to continue to borrow money, yet, that is America's way of doing business.
In 1998 I revealed in my book "Milk-The Deadly Poison," that Senator Pat Roberts had been given over $220,000 in 1994 PAC money before the key vote to approve Monsanto's genetically engineered bovine growth hormone. Over $113,000 of those dollars came from dairy and agricultural interests.

Should Roberts and Conrad succeed in their idiotic attempt to repay their masters (agricultural and dairy interests), be prepared to bend over and enjoy your coming Turkish prison-like experience.

Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) and Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) will introduce the legislation today. From 1999-2004, companies with agricultural and dairy interests donated $210,925 to Roberts and $169,450 to Conrad. It may be nice to have the money to reward friends in high places, but at what cost?

SCIENTIFIC PROOF: MILK CAUSES AUTISM/ADD http://osiris.sunderland.ac.uk/autism/
PARENT'S MAGAZINE REPORTS MILK LINK TO AUTISM http://www.livingsensibly.org/autism.html Search the Internet and you'll find many anecdotal stories from parents blaming their children's autism on milk and dairy products. One such story appeared in the February, 2000 issue of "Parent's Magazine."
Since 1915 the National Dairy Council has done everything in its power to convince Americans that milk products are essential to good health. At times they have enlisted the aid of doctors and researchers to trumpet their cause. We wonder how many of the studies that announce the value of milk are financed by the dairy industry and can be relied on as sound scientific research.

osis is bone loss due to calcium resorption, which, contrary to the protestations of the dairy industry, is not halted or prevented by an increase in the intake of calcium so much as by a drop in protein consumption. High-protein foods, such as meat, eggs, and dairy products, leach calcium from the body as excess protein is processed by the liver and passed through the kidneys, making the kidneys work harder and causing the loss of minerals such as calcium.
