i could never lie, cheat, step on others enough to hold any of those offices. but if i were, i would get the community organized to work together in the face of the impending energy/environmental crisis we face. doing that now, anyway...
in a perfect world, we would be governed by a council of elders (not necessarily chronologically elder, but rather, elder based on personal wisdom). if i were a member of the council, i would speak toward the greater good, not for self-interest groups. if anyone had an issue, it would be talked out completely, but that person and all who came to the open council meetings. and we would stay until we all reached the same conclusion, not just arbitrarily decide what to do without the aggrieved person's agreement.
one example: develop alternate fuel transportation and energy

“This above all—to thine own self be true.” Wm. Shakespeare
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful, beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous"? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God, your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking, so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just some of us, it's in everyone. As we let our own light shine, then we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
~ Nelson Mandela 1994 Inaugural Speech
