About Me sea kelp artist , i also like to spend time elsewhere, like the tropics, NYC, europe (when oregon's too wet!), looking to be of service so i volunteer when i can, studying fiddle (play it lefthanded!).

i am a mother of 4, grandmother of 4 and all of them are awesome, conscious beings.

i built a self-sufficient home on a private island in australia with eleven of my friends where i contemplated my navel for 9 years, till the grandbabies started coming. then i had to be closer!

i have sat vipassana twice, use it almost daily, but not very disciplined.

My Philosophy catayst for change
facilitator for those who are making the change
when i look back, i would like to see that somehow my being here affected things positively
What Gives Me Hope Obama and all those who voted for him; 350,000 marchers for peace (nyc, 4/29/06); my awesome kids and amazing grandchildren; that maybe, MAYBE the focus on global warming will actually have a positive effect.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by i could never lie, cheat, step on others enough to hold any of those offices. but if i were, i would get the community organized to work together in the face of the impending energy/environmental crisis we face. doing that now, anyway...

in a perfect world, we would be governed by a council of elders (not necessarily chronologically elder, but rather, elder based on personal wisdom). if i were a member of the council, i would speak toward the greater good, not for self-interest groups. if anyone had an issue, it would be talked out completely, but that person and all who came to the open council meetings. and we would stay until we all reached the same conclusion, not just arbitrarily decide what to do without the aggrieved person's agreement.
one example: develop alternate fuel transportation and energy
What/who changed my life and why an inconvenient truth by al gore, the most influential wake up call of our millenium! books: illusions by richard bach put everything into perspective... creative visualization by shakti gawain taught me that i manifest my own reality

Quotation "follow your bliss" joseph campbell

“This above all—to thine own self be true.” Wm. Shakespeare

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful, beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous"? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God, your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking, so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just some of us, it's in everyone. As we let our own light shine, then we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
