And through the dumb shall speak Till the deaf world's ear be made to hear The wrongs of the wordless weak
From street, from cage, from kennel, From stable and zoo, the wail of my tortured kin proclaims the sin Of the mighty against the frail Oh, shame on the mothers of mortals who have not stooped to teach of the sorrows that lies in dear, dumb eyes The sorrow that has no speech
For I am my brother's keeper, and I shall fight his fight and speak the word for beast and bird till the world shall set things right
-Ella Wheeler Wilcox
I AM AN ANIMAL RESCUER AUTHOR UNKNOWN
My job is to assist God's creatures. … I was born with the drive to fulfill their needs. I take in helpless, unwanted, homeless creatures without planning or selection.
I have bought cat food with my last dime. I have patted a mangy head with a bare hand. I have hugged someone vicious and afraid. I have fallen in love a thousand times. And I have cried into the fur of a lifeless body too many times to count.
I have Animal Friends and friends who have animal friends. I don't even use the word "pet". I notice those lost on the road side and my heart aches. I will hand raise a field mouse and make friends with a vulture.
I know of no creature unworthy of my time. I want to live forever if there aren't animals in Heaven, but I believe there are. Why would God make something so perfect and leave it behind?
Some may think we are masters of the animals, but the animals have mastered themselves. .. something people still haven't learned.
War and abuse make me hurt for the world, but a rescue that makes the news gives me hope for mankind. We are a quiet but determined army and we are making a difference every day.
There is nothing more necessary than warming an orphan, nothing more rewarding than saving a life, no higher recognition than watching them thrive. There is no greater joy than seeing a baby play who, only days ago, was too weak to eat.
By the love of those who I've been privileged to rescue, I have been rescued. I know what true unconditional love really is, for I've seen it shining in the eyes of so many, grateful for so little.
I am an Animal Rescuer. My work is never done. My home is never quiet. My wallet is always empty, but my heart is always full.
Break The Chain by Janet Riddle
New life enters upon the earth but greed fouls the precious birth He takes his first baby breath unknowing of his destined death..
Mother protects him all she can but she's powerless against man As soon as he was able to stand he met the harsh human hand..
To the dairy farm he is waste mother's milk he'll never... taste All of her milk we humans take he's denied mother for dairy's sake..
He arrives at the farm for veal from innocent birth to someone's meal In his lonely, barren crate he cries hopelessness and terror in his eyes..
His would-be loving mother has frantically lost another Her relentless bellows easily heard and her anguish clear without word..
Dairy kills ~ that's the deal but the solution is to boycott veal? Break the chain at its start don't have dairy ~ have a heart!
“Verily, I say to you, I Am come into the world, in order to put an end to all blood offerings and to the eating of the flesh of animals and birds that are slain by men.”
~ Jesus at Gospel of the Holy Twelve
I try to save abandoned, lost, abused and forgotten animals. I am a vegetarian, and believe killing animals for food, or any other reason, is murder, the same as we would view the murder of a fellow human being. All creatures have a soul and a right to life, free of fear, pain and suffering. We must learn to share the earth with our animal brothers. We do not own the earth, nor any of the creatures upon her.
I have rescued many animals in my life, and will continue to rescue and defend animals until my last breath. I have also been a wildlife rehabilitator.
I am clairvoyant and commune with nature. We are bound to this earth.....our mother.... and all her creatures, great and small.

"The soul is the same in all living creatures, although the body of each is different." ~Hippocrates
"We have enslaved the rest of the animal creation, and have treated our distant cousins in fur and feathers so badly that beyond doubt, if they were able to formulate a religion, they would depict the devil in human form" ~William Ralph Inage
"How can you look into the eyes of an animal, and believe there is no soul?"

What Gives Me Hope
That there are many good people who want to come together for the benefit of the animals, in our fight against the war on God's creatures.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
"I hope to make people realize how totally helpless animals are, how dependent on us, trusting as a child must be, that we will be kind and take care of their needs ...[they] are an obligation put upon us, a responsibility we have no right to neglect, nor to violate by cruelty" ~James Herriot
"But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: Speak to the Earth and it shall answer thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. Who is ignorant that the hand of the Lord hath made all these things? In whose hand is the SOUL of EVERY LIVING THING, and the spirit of all flesh of mankind."
