Being a woman of various interests, what do I share that won't make me sound big headed! Animals are a good place to start. I have a wee dog, her name is Gaby. When my friend and I went to buy her, we had seen an ad in a local paper, when my eyes fell upon her she was a bag of bones. Seemingly she had been used for breeding, making money for her owner. The look that the dog gave me when I did see her, touched my heart, so she became mine. After getting her home, I washed her, fed her, gave her a warm bed to lie in, and believe it or not, the poor little thing didn't know what to do as a dog. The vet was amazed at her condition and told me the only thing to do was take her home and love her, as she was a very nervous animal. During the weeks that followed, I had to teach her so many 'doggy' things she didn't know, like barking. Now she is fully adjusted to being loved and accepted and in return she is so loyal and minds me all the time now. As I'm living with an illness, Gaby knows when I ought to be taking a rest, so she goes to the bedroom, pulls back the bedding and waits for me to throw my bones down, then she snuggles in beside me for our rest. Writing is another of my interests, also poetry, with 30 years of writing it behind me. My dream at present is to write and get published.
Positive and happy person. Have learnt that 'life is a learning curve'. Laugh at life and all it throws my way.
Have overcome many things in life and stayed positive, holding onto the fact, life is an adventure to be lived.
