Children of the Earth

Since 2003 I have been living on a homestead.  For longer than that I have been striving to live my life for the highest good of all.  Living in harmony with Mother Earth, finding my spirituality in the changing seasons, endeavoring to live on a piece of land without spoiling it and to live without the endless pursuit of money; these were primary objectives in moving from southern California to northern Maine.  Organic gardening and animal husbandry, selective logging practices, non-polluting labour, anti-consumerism and oceans of Love, all with a bent towards self-sufficiency, have been the driving factors on these acres.  All animals are protected and all life forms are respected.  Decisions here are not based on what I want or what I would like or what would be easiest or best for me.  Quite to the contrary, decisions are based on what is good for the Earth and All Life first, with my own convenience being considered last or not at all.  So much of what is considered normal life is fraught with tremendous destructive and exploitative consequences that are either generally unknown or are easily overlooked.  In this past decade it has been my goal to confront this imbalance and to let an open heart guide my actions.  On one hand this means I have lived as a hermit on this land, isolated from the modern world and my own species.  On the other it means I have lived my life among the trees and brooks and critters and come to Love them all.  They have taught me much, including the fact that an isolated human can be a vulnerable one.  The self-sufficient community that was envisioned for this place, due to varying and unfortunate circumstances, has never come to be and as a result I find myself in a quandary.  The decision to live in harmony, to do as little harm as possible, to respect All, to not make decisions based solely on human self-importance, these are all choices from the heart.  I still believe in the goodness of these choices.  However, my lack of willingness to exploit this land for profit has put my legal/financial ability to remain on these acres in jeopardy.  I am faced with the necessity of finding employment in order to survive.  One cannot pay the property taxes with potatoes, even if they are organic.  It is my hope that this employment search will result in a new vocation, one in which I may continue to be of Service to Mother Earth.   I do believe I can be a valuable resource to an employer, not only because I was always very successful in my prior jobs, but also because for an organization working on behalf of Mother Earth and her children, I can truly put my heart into the task.  I am confident that I can now re-enter the working world to once again contribute in a positive way.  Please contact me, if you have been looking for someone like me, or know someone who is.  I thank you, and blessed be!
