Just passing through; experiencing as much of this amazing planet as I can in the short time I have been given – I’ve been granted some incredible windows into the ways of the natural world. I realize now, some thirty years later, that my entire life began and will probably (hopefully) end in the cradle of the wilderness.
Like all good human beings I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way, experienced mind-blowing revelations at the worse possible times, have misunderstood and have been misunderstood – have often doubted my ability to blend into the rat race and hope one day to escape for good. But the journey has been one I wouldn’t have missed for anything.
My aspiration? To create wildlife documentaries that will pass the barrier of mind-numbing eye candy and actually leave an impression on audience’s minds – enough to make a change (however big or small) in the way they treat their natural environment. Small steps will eventually lead to giant strides…
Making wildlife documentaries in S.E.Asia. I'm fascinated by all things related to wildlife, from literature, to photography, to art. My office is a miniature wilderness and my desk is covered with various bits of camera equipment, scribbled notes from countless unfinished books, various photos of wild animals I've had the privilege to film and may never see again in life, and many more dreams and aspirations written on the back of business cards.
These words I live by: (Well not literally of course, because you have to know a few things at least, to get on with life - still its an ideal)
There is really nothing you must be.
And there is really nothing you must do.
There is really nothing you must have.
And there is nothing you must know.
There is really nothing you must become.
However.
It helps to understand
that fire burns,
and when it rains,
the earth gets wet.

My Philosophy
Time is my friend, not my enemy.
And fate is a shadow, following one step behind
What Gives Me Hope
sunset and sunrise
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Compulsory life imprisonment/castration, depending on what mood I'm in, for anyone who abuses animals. I would call upon my friends the elephants to stand upon their heads, and my brothers the leopards, to tear out their stomachs. Yes, I would be a very fair and good leader of the human species
What/who changed my life and why
Sir David Attenborough: During my childhood I was enchanted by his personable accounts of the rich natural history that surrounds us. I am still enchanted. My career is as a result of his work, and I follow in his footsteps, albeit at a considerable distance. It is my solemn wish to meet the man and thank him for setting me on this path. More power to you Sir David.
Also Billy Arjun Singh, a reformed hunter who became and is still one of the greatest, most humble and best loved conservationists in India. He reintroduced tigers and leopards back into the wild, and is staunchly uncompromising when it comes to wildlife welfare. A man who was not afraid to admit he made big mistakes and tried to do something to rectify them
