Stop for a moment ...look around and be grateful for what you have...cherish the beauty around you from a single bumblebee to the giant tree. There is so much suffering in the world, many living in severe poverty and animals vanishing at a frightening rate, every corner of the earth including oceans, being exploited. Just remember, there is beauty and goodness in the world and we must hold on to that. We can make a difference even with the simplest smile and living a life that helps the earth. We must celebrate life and reach out to those people and animals in need before it is too late. Our voices can be heard!
What has become of us! I look around to a world full of hatred, violece and greed. Every day I hear a new news report of someone being shot or stabbed, bombs going off all over the globe. Many woman go through domestic abuse, and still struggle with rights. Also, still in this day, the slave trade continues, young children working for buttons in very poor conditions. The greed which the western world feeds on causes poverty and civil wars. Every way I turn there is suffering and every day I hear someone complaining that they haven't got the latest ipod or they've got a huge want list for this Christmas. I understand that we live in this material world, and maybe someday that will change (I am ever hopeful!). Until then, I ask that you stop and think for a moment about those who do not have anything...many walk for miles in homemade shoes to get water which isn't even clean, others have a cardboard box as a home, some children hve waking nightmares of their experiences which we could never comprehend. We shoudl recognise the courage of all these people and look within ourselves. Why not this Christmas forget about all those things that you want but do not need, for haven't you got everyting already? Have you got a warm bed? Loving parents, family or friends? Education? Clean water, food and clothes? Have you got someone who loves you for who you are and cares for you? This Christms give thanks to those in your life and appreciate all that you have. Send love and prayers to those people who find themselves in darkness.
