Here is some transcription I did, of a speech that Oprah did when she received an award from Elie Wiesel… I found this a very powerful message that worth being watch… here is the most important lines of the speech! You can see this video on Oprah’s website! Look under video, and most popular!

Introduction, thanks, etc…

What does it mean for her to receive this honour? Being a humanitarian, is about using what you have to make someone else life better! Using the light inside you! As we have all seen, and know, and felt the light of Elie Wiesel. Each of us have our own light, and being a humanitarian is about using the light that is inside of you and letting that light shine on someone else!

Appreciations statement …

But each of us knows ourselves better than anybody else knows us! And we know in our heart of heart, we know what we have done, and we know what we need’s to be done. I know for sure, that the work yet to be done, for me, and for lots of us, but I can only speak for myself, the work yet to be done, for me, is the true calling in life for me, and the reason for everything else that I've been so blessed to received.

I didn’t understand at the time, the power of television… I have sense enough to know, even in my early years, that is wasn’t about fame, and all the stuff that came’s with it! I never really had big dreams about money, but I always had big dream about life!... …I’ve got to chart my own growth… I start my journal by… Dear God!  Dear God, how do I fulfill my potential here on earth? Dear God, how can I be used in service to that witch is greater than myself? I want you all to know here tonight, that…. I’m going to use this honour. I’m going to use this honour, as a charge to keep moving forward, in the pursuit, of that witch I know to be greatness in service to others.

One of my favourite quotes who comes from Dr. Martin Luther King… ‘’Not everybody can be famous, but everybody can be great! Because greatness is determined by service’’

And what I know for sure, is that there really is no better quest for anyone of us who’ve been born or blessed with privileged. I know that when I leave this earth, the final moments, or the final questions however that transition will comes, I’m not gonna be ask how many shoes are in my closet? How many cars? How many houses? Was I able to acquire, will not be the questions… The amount of square footages?  Or acreages? Will not be on the list, how many diamonds was I able to own? Would not be apart of my human assessment…  But I believe the real question will be… How did you served? And who where you able to save? What did you do for the powerless? What were you able to do for those who were disenfranchised, those who are homeless? Those who are battered, those who are looked out, those who are left behind? Those who are burdened? Those who suffer? In our heart of heart, each of us knows whether or not we have accepted that charge of our own individual humanity! The charge is not on your watch! Not on your watch! Do you let others failed, falter and fall? Because of what we do, or do not do!

People suffer throughout this world, and even in our own country, peoples are hungry, throughout the world, a billion peoples are living on a 1$ or less a day. Peoples struggle; other peoples violate the rights of others, because of the multitude in the world, who choose to be indifferent! People always ask… Why does God allow such terrible things to happen throughout the world?  What I believe is that we really are created in the spirits and images of that wich what we call God! And therefore, we all are free agents for the divine. We are managers of the spiritual forces within us. The forces, the forces! That can, and will if we choose, have the power to transform our live, and the lives of peoples who we know! And so this is what I am hoping!  I’m hoping tonight that humanitarian award stand as of symbol not of just what I have done, but what I can do! And about what each of us, has the power, with all of our privileged, and money, and talent, and skill, an access, to do for other in the world, I’m hoping that each of us, As I continue to move forward in my life…I hoping that you too will choose to help somebody. To liberate someone, to give hope to someone, to lift somebody up, to transform somebody’s life, to love somebody in a way, that they couldn’t be, had you not, be a part of their life.
