I drink a lot of nettle infusions, and I can harvest them bare handed. I am allied with violet. I really love mugwort, and yarrow, and hiding in the tall, tall stands in summer. I also especially love hawthorn and linden trees.
My Philosophy
Candy tastes like soap, soap soap, and rain makes applesauce.
What Gives Me Hope
spring, trees, witchy fall wind storms, snow, the ocean, rivers, stars, the moon, kids, animals, poetry, song, dance, etc. Hope is a tricky concept, though. Beware! As my teacher Robin Rose Bennett points out, the opposite of hope is fear. I prefer what gets me into my body in the present, in which case the list is the same.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Make every garden in cities and towns permanent, and create a garden on every block. I would also landmark as many historical buildings as possible. I would draft legislation banning chain stores. I would pay teachers more, and give them better benefits. I would limit class sizes, and push to increase the number of educational field trips for school children, especially into nature. I would draft legislation making food programs like city harvest mandatory for all restaurants and food manufacturers. I would make race relations an essential part of the curriculum for every level of education from elementary school through undergraduate.
