It seems clear to me that as long as we are all here, It's pretty clear that the struggle is to share the planet.  Rather than divide it.  I think we have to own the fears that we have of each other, and then, in some practical way, some daily way, figure out how to see people differently than the way we were brought up to.  For in the end, freedom is a personal and lonely battle; and one faces down fears of today so that those of tomorrow might be engaged.
~Alice Malsenior Walker (author and feminist who received the pulitzer prize for fiction in 1983 for the Color Purple)

It's not about how many friends you have, it's about what you do with your life that matters!~Peace Be To You
May you walk in the path you follow
~Peace Be To You

The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt by the heart.   ~Helen Keller

"I think that if songs can help us explore our past and our present, and even speculate about our future, then you and I have a better chance of going out and doing something about our troubles." - Pete Seeger

On October 12, 1997 John Denver was tragically killed in a plane accident. A beautiful life was tragically taken from this planet on that day, but a wonderous legacy was also left to us. A legacy of life and the love of being. A legacy of love and rejoycing in it. A legacy of music that speaks to our hearts and souls. And all of these legacies shall be cherished and loved and I know that I will be forever grateful to a man I never met who could talk to my heart. Peace, my friend...Peace.

I think that I would most like to be remembered for the fact that I stood up for what I believe in that I spoke for it, I sang for it, I worked for the things that I believe in in the world.
~John Denver

SEE HOW CIRCUS ELEPHANTS ARE TREATED" NO ANIMALS in the CIRCUS!

(graphic)

They were brought out of Africa and into chains in America. Or they were born into slavery here. Yes, I am talking about the first African-Americans to reach these shores, but I am also describing the animals now enslaved in circuses. The species and continents are different, but the stories are tragically similar. The animals in circuses are held against their will by chains and domination. They are forced to perform a series of acts by coercion and violence because they would never normally do these things on their own. They can never choose their own partners, their own homes, their own food or have control over any aspect of their lives. I don't care how this is dressed up by promoters with music and lights, it is still slavery."

~Richard Pryor

"I will remember what I was. I am sick of rope and chain.
I will remember my old strength and all my forest affairs.
I will not sell my back to man for a bundle of sugar-cane,
I will go out to my own kind, and the wood-folk in their lairs.
I will go out until the day, until the morning break,
Out to the winds' untainted kiss, the waters' clean caress:
I will forget my ankle-ring and snap my picket-stake.
I will revisit my lost loves, and playmates masterless!"

Toomai of the Elephants, from The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling

Animals are “grown” now, like so many crops. Barns somewhere along the way became “intensive confinement facilities” and the inhabitants mere production units.”
The result is a world in which billions of birds, cows, pigs, and other creatures are locked away, enduring miseries they do not deserve, for our convenience and pleasure. We belittle the activists with their radical agenda, scarcely noticing the radical cruelty they seek to redress.

A RIGHTEOUS MAN REGARDETH THE LIFE OF HIS BEAST; BUT THE TENDER MERCIES OF THE WICKED ARE CRUEL. (THE GODLY ARE CONCERNED FOR THE WELFARE OF THEIR ANIMALS).      ~ PROVERBS 2:10

FUR COATS ARE WORN BY BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS!!!

How would it feel to have no power to stop a very frightening and painful thing happening to you? How would it feel to cry and not be heard? How would it feel to be crammed into a box with say 30 other beings, and then go on a long journey with no food or water... How would it feel to reach the end of that journey and be thrown from the top of a truck? And how would it feel to then be beaten and skinned? And how would it feel if you were still alive...?

If you believe fur should be worn by animals and not by people... If you believe the fur trade is as dead as all the helpless animals caught up in it, then please sign the petition to give these poor creatures a voice and a chance to live.

Singers/songwriters/musicians/artists, we DO have a voice, and we can use it!!!

Please help to stop the fur trade.

Best Wishes,
Maria Daines & Paul Killington,

Quotation "The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature."
-- Anne Frank
Let us dare to dream of a peace that humanity has never known
--Coretta Scott King
" The animals of the world exist for their own reasons. They were not made for humans any more than black people were made for white, or women created for men. "
-- Alice Walker

--Jimmy Hendrix
"First is the danger of futility; the belief there is nothing one man or one woman can do against the enormous array of the world's ills -- against misery, against ignorance, or injustice and violence. Yet many of the world's great movements, of thought and action, have flowed from the work of a single man. A young monk began the Protestant reformation... It was a young Italian explorer who discovered the New World, and 32-year-old Thomas Jefferson who proclaimed that all men are created equal. 'Give me a place to stand,' said Archimedes, 'and I will move the world.' These men moved the world, and so can we all."
--Robert Kennedy
If the government can take away one person's rights, it can take away everyone's. Speaking truth to power is the best job in any democracy, So keep fightin' for freedom and justice, beloveds, but don't you forget to have fun doin' it. Lord, let your laughter ring forth. Be outrageous, ridicule the fraidy-cats, rejoice in all the oddities that freedom can produce. And when you get through kickin' ass and celebratin' the sheer joy of a good fight, be sure to tell those who come after how much fun it was."
--Mary Ivins
"Today I smiled, and all at once things didn't look so bad.
Today I shared with someone else, a bit of hope I had.
Today I sang a little song and felt my heart grow light,
And walked a happy little mile with not a cloud in sight.
Today I worked with what I had and longed for nothing more,
And what had seemed like only weeds, were flowers at my door.
Today I loved a little more and complained a little less,
And in the giving of myself,
I forgot my weariness."
--unknown
Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little
--Edmund Burke
Time is a sort of river of passing events, and strong is it's current, no sooner is a thing brought to sight than it is swept by and another takes it's place, and this too will be swept away

Peace is the freedom within oneself, no matter what the consequences, to follow Truth to its ends. I became a conscientious objector during my last deployment. The army wanted to put me in jail, but the Truth prevailed. If we are honest,Peace will breath.
