I am a loveable nerd with a passion for life, books, and the people I love. I am a bleeding heart liberal, bisexual, feminist and idealist, often called a "hippie" by close friends. I am one of the lucky few who actually works her dream job (2 of them actualy!) I teach college English and am a full time graduate student (also in English) and I absolutely love what I do. I love people and consider life a learning experience and an adventure- I believe whole-heartedly in living each day to the fullest. My friends would tell you I am talkative and just a little crazy. My favorite song lyric (by Ani DiFranco) is: "your arrogance is gaining on you and so is eternity, you better practice happiness, you better practice humility, you took the air, you took the time, you were fed and you were free, you better put some beauty back, while you've got the energy..." The way I see it, our purpose here on this planet is to make it at least a little better than it was before we got here. I try to be an activist for peace and for love. Love the Earth, love the trees, love the animals, love each other, and last, but not least, love ourselves and realize the potential for joy and for goodness that is within every one of us.
I never grew armpit hair! That isn't very wild, but it's the best I can come up with for now.
My Philosophy
You only live once so make it worthwhile.
What Gives Me Hope
That human beings can always grow and change and become better people and that there is always something new to learn.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
increase educational funding, decrease military funding, raise minimum wage, mandate birth control, legalize marijuana, place a wage cap (no one needs to make more than a million a year), put an end to clearcutting, eliminate taxes for the poor, decrease use of fossil fuels, this list could go on and on...
